Official Ep Discussion # 17 "TCRI"
Man, we've got some slim picking's for ideas this week... Here, have another sneak peek, free of charge! Okay, so we're finally getting closer to the main objective of the Kraang. All the clues are culminating into the final, freakish product of this large-scale, global genetics scheme. All the kidnapping of scientists, April's dad, the collection of DNA from around the world, the World Genome Project... Leatherhead's subjection to torturous experimentation... the power source and the Portal. We may be on the precipice of a massive global takeover by the Kraang. It's going to be a hell of a battle for the turtles to go up against. How can four or five teenagers defeat a giant global industrial machine with more cutting edge technology knowledge in one tentacle than the entire 100 year span of modern human technology? The boys are so outnumbered as it is with all the groups their up against in the city, and now they're going to be in for a new surprise... From the annals of the OT universe (and IDW, I think), we get a blast from our collective past.. an alien race of (lava filled?)rock-like beings. So now we can speculate what their ties to the Kraang are, and what their plans are for our little green and blue planet.... WILL THE TURTLES STOP THE KRAANG FROM TAKING OVER THE WORLD?! WILL KARAI AND THE FOOT GET INVOLVED IN THE MELEE?! AND WHO ELSE IS LOOKING FOR A GOOD LEATHERHEAD RAGEFEST?! Stay Tuned! |
Sorry everyone, I fought with my phone for THIRTY minutes trying to get this thread open... I had to drive home to open this friggen thing.
Worst Phone Ever. Poll to come... |
Great episode. This isn't exactly an Easter Egg, so I'll post this here.
Mikey says to Leatherhead "Wakey Wakey, eggs and bakey". In Teen Titans, Beast Boy (same voice actor as Mikey) says "Wakey Wakey, tofu eggs and bakey". Pretty neat. |
This episode was pretty cool. 8) We saw LH again and got to see Traag.
I have to say that part when Leather Head was still holding Donatello's face and stretching it was kinda funny. Oh and April's yo-yo skills were fun to watch. :tsmile: |
Wait... why does my guide say a repeat? Wasn't this supposed to be airing March 9 anyway?

LEATHERHEAD CAME BACK!!!! :D
It was so great to see how understanding he was of the power cell going missing.. And how he stopped the anger from affecting him! ............ But now, He's gone... I feel like a friend just moved far far away.. Or I just lost my pet alligator.. I hope this isn't the end for him. I Really REALLY hope not.... ): |
This was great:tgrin: seeing the kraang with Mikey's nunchucks was funny, the action was amazing to, I really hope this isn't the last of traag...or leatherhead

I loved the part where the Kraang hit itself with the nunchuk. I knew that was coming. |
Liked the joke, now we can breath, choking gass:trazz:
|
The ending was truly shocking.
|
Loved the ep. It ended too soon, but there was so much packed in it.
Also loved April's "around the world" yo-yo move. And every other thing in this ep. I can't wait to see what's next. |
Good episode overall. Traang was great, and so was seeing Leatherhead again. Too bad he's now stuck in Dimension X. I wonder why The Kraang would be after April. Must have something to do with her sixth sense.
|
Who/What is April:tconfuse:
|
Anyone love when this exchange happended
Donny- do you know what this is??? Mikey-shiney! Mikey is so-------oooooh shiney! |

LOVED this episode. Traag looked amazing. My new favorite I guess? Leatherhead being gone is so sad, but I KNOW this won't be the last we see of him. Not how much CGI characters cost. Surely they wouldnt just throw him out, right? But again, Loved the more we are seeing about the kraang. I hope we get to see inside of Dimension X. Finally one of the turtles went fully inside the shell. Overall, Good episode. April Sure is gonna need some protecting.

What... no poll?
"In Kraang's face!" |
Who wants turtle figures that go all the way into the shell?!? That was epis!!!:tsmile::tcool::tsmile::tsmile:

When they mutated, they kind of outgrew their shells; those seem to be more of a leftover from their previous form than anything else. All things considered, they now have more humanoid forms [*insert 'teenage turtle human hybrids' theme song here*], there is just no way everything will fit in there. I'm even against them tucking their heads in: they might be able to get their chins in there but nothing more. I prefer the way they treat this issue in the IDW comics... Michaelangelo one-shot excluded. The example that comes to mind right now would be in Leo's one-shot: when shredhead throws his katanas back at him, he kind of tucks his head in a little bit cause he thinks they are gonna hit him square in the face. |

So, here are my thoughts. I like how the episode picks up right where the last one left off, wasting no time. It was great to see the patrol buggies again, let's hope they become a primary vehicle for the guys in green. I enjoyed seeing Leatherhead again, and I really like him and Mikey's friendship. It was a bit strange just to see him laying around in the sewer though :tlol: It was pretty neat that Leatherhead is somewhat starting to control his anger, hopefully by the time we see him again he'll have it fully under control so he can be a full ally to the turtles. Also, there was another Metalhead cameo! TCRI itself was awesome. I liked seeing April in action again, her training his starting to pay off! General Tragg was O.K I guess, he just seems like a mindless monster and I don;t even recall if he could talk or not. I also think he was defeated too easily. Now, the thing that really annoyed me is how they handle Leatherhead. LH stops the portal from sending more things to earth by going in it and dragging General Traag in with him. I think this was very heroic and brave of him, but I just hope we can see him again soon, which I (sadly) doubt. Mikey seemed very sad back at the lair. Now comes the interesting part. Donatello finds out at the end of the episode that The Kraang are really after April O' Neil. What? Why? I MUST know! Now for my "nit pick" section. *all of these points below are minor nit picks and should not be taken too seriously* April going into TCRI. How the heck did they get LH in that box, and how did April know about that since her and LH never met? Ms. Campbell. I thought she was destroyed, and why wouldn't she recognize April? That brings me to my next point, if the Kraang really are after April, then why didn't they recognize her when she went into TCRI? *nit picking over* All in all, it was a great episode that raised many questions, but felt a little rushed. I want to know so many things, such as why they're after April, when Leatherhead's coming back, and the true intentions of the Kraang, though we won't be seeing this since next week's episode is about Chong the cockroach, which sounds like a filler episode. Now it would seem that the turtles and April would stop at nothing to find out what the Kraang want with April, so it'll be weird if April is just sitting around in their lair in the next episode. I'll be watching the episode again for sure. |

You guys forgot to mention the part where Leonardo does the awesome Kraang impersonation. I also liked how he tried to act all serious when he realized nobody else thought it was funny. "Sorry, where were we?"
