Awesome news!

As Mikey would say Booyakasha! :trazz:

CyberCubed 02-26-2013 03:42 PM

Awesome, 3 down...only 7 more to go.

I think this could very well be the first TMNT cartoon to hit the milestone 200 episode barrier. Hopefully it'll get renewed for another 7 seasons.

plastroncafe 02-26-2013 03:44 PM

YAY! Well done, Team Nick Turtles!

Cure 02-26-2013 03:45 PM

I think anyone who's not crazy would rather have a 3 or 4 season long show that's awesome than one that's 10 seasons and overstayed its welcome.

What if its consistently awesome for 10 seasons though? If they can keep up the current writing and improve the CG and add more characters and more complex stories, it can go on for as long as they like.

ToTheNines 02-26-2013 04:01 PM

Awesome news. Can't say I'm surprised though :)

TheSkeletonMan939 02-26-2013 04:03 PM

That is... stupid. There's barely halfway through season 1. What if kids lose interest in TMNT during season 2?

I'm not saying the show will be an absolute failure - I'm sure it'll continue to be super popular. I just think it's dumb to obligate yourself to chuck out two more seasons of a TV show without even being done with the first.

ToTheNines 02-26-2013 04:06 PM

They'll want an animated companion for the upcoming movie anyways.

Verdict: not stupid.

You do realize the 4kids series was constantly renewed 2 seasons ahead of whatever was airing, right?

This is why when Season 3 was written they knew it wasn't the end, because they knew they were getting a Season 5. When Season 4 was airing they were already working on Fast Forward, hence it being ready to air a year before it was supposed to.

The 4kids series was constantly renewed 2 seasons ahead of whatever was airing, same with Nick.

BAXTER STOCKMAN 19 02-26-2013 04:11 PM

I dont think that anyone is suprised with this news. 1987 show had 10 seasons and 2003 had 7 seasons. It is normal for the nick show to have at least 7 seasons if not ten. And it is already a lot more popular than the 2003 show was when first season 1 ended .

tlg80 02-26-2013 04:26 PM

Happy to hear this news.

Gyt Kaliba 02-26-2013 04:30 PM

It does seem a little overboard to greenlight a third season this early in when we haven't even finished airing all of season one yet - but that's just the nature of the business, so far as I can tell. And it also tells us that the whole shebang must be doing pretty well for Nick if they already want to have more ready to go, wouldn't you think? So I'm ecstatic at this news.

Powder 02-26-2013 04:35 PM

That is crazy & awesome.

TheCanadiandrome 02-26-2013 04:38 PM

A third season takes them to 2015. Surely they want TMNT that long. And hopefully, the movie show will give the show a ratings boost. The IDW series, too.

EDIT:
What you all need to do, is go back to the beginning of that thread, and see how friggin' thrilled Michael Bay fans are about Megan Fox.

EDIT 2:
Hahaha. What? I have too many tabs open...

NinjaMan 02-26-2013 04:46 PM

Sweet news!

TurtleTitan97 02-26-2013 04:51 PM

This is great!:tgrin:

NinjaPug 02-26-2013 05:10 PM

Awesome. Not a shock but it's great to get the official word.

Oculus Orbus 02-26-2013 05:15 PM

Great! I hope the show remains consistent!

oldmanwinters 02-26-2013 05:21 PM

Take that, Marvel & DC animated programming!:kgrin::kgrin::kgrin:

Lethal Lullaby 02-26-2013 06:07 PM

I bet all the Bruce Timm and Greg Weisman fans are bitter. (For the record, I am a huge DC and Marvel cartoon fan, and I know how they feel).

As I said, each TMNT cartoon makes a bare minimum of 150 episodes and I expect the Nick show to be the same. We are NOT DC and Marvel with their short lived 26-65 episode series.

Donatello19 02-26-2013 06:16 PM

Great news, but as others have said, I'm not surprised at all. Let's hope the show sticks around for a while, at least 6-7 seasons I say.

Forneus 02-26-2013 07:02 PM

BOOYAKASHA! Ahhh yeah, all's well within the world of Turtles. This is the best news I've had all month!

Martin 02-26-2013 07:08 PM

Awesome! I wonder why they are renewing so soon though. It seems only yesterday that they were announcing season 2. Anyway, great news :tgrin:

The 3 seasons minimum was planned from the start. One of the old events back in 2012 said, "new episodes committed through 2015" which is 3 seasons.

They'll probably look at ratings and toy sales from the rest of Season 1 and 2 before deciding a Season 4 and above though.

Like how you said that the episode after Chong has Newtralizer? And then lied about Nines posting it and there was nothing? Unless you provide a link I'm not believing anything you post.

Machias Banshee 02-26-2013 07:44 PM

This is great news.. :) Can't wait to see what Ciro comes up with.

And...here it is:

http://www.ninjapizza.net/2012/02/ne...-toy-fair.html

This was from one of the early promotions in 2012. One of the lines on the screen says, "new episodes committed through 2015."

Ryanator008 02-26-2013 07:56 PM

Don't you guys get it? This show's success was planned by Nick. They want this to replace Spongebob as the show they are known for.

Im not bitter. Greg Weisman has a Gargoyles related novel series coming out (first book comes out in December) so I at least have that to look forward to.

YES!:tgrin: This is awesome news! Glad to hear it!:tparty:

pannoni1 02-26-2013 08:38 PM

I suspect the decision for a Season 4 renewal were weigh on the impact of the Bay movie, since this will likely be this generation's biggest media moment in terms of drawing in the general audience along with promoting toy sales. I don't know of a cartoon which got cancelled because of a box office bomb in associated with the franchise with the possible exception of Transformers G1 even though that was in the same continuity as the series, so let's enjoy this news. The only question is if it will be a 13 or 26 episode season, since 13 gives it the standard 65 episodes and typically Nick likes to air lots of reruns by the third season of a show (if they already are doing so far). But most importantly, this wouldn't be possible without the support of us fans for enjoying the show. :trazz:

NinjaPug 02-26-2013 08:40 PM

Third season....please get Usagi.
