Nice! I'm glad to see more Nick TMNT shirts for adults. :tsmile:

Like the shirts. Wish they had a Mikey solo shirt, he's so cool!
|
Very nice, I saw a Kraang one in an advertisement for Wal-Mart the other day.

Guy....it's a T-shirt not a suit. Either get a bigger size, stretch the thing or lose weight. |

I know tailors only do so for suits, nothing else. Also, I kinda wrote that as a wanking. (Foolin' around) True dat. I however wouldn't have the need for that. I'm a medium slim size. |

There are already tons and tons of nick TMNT shirts that have been discovered, these being some of them. They are in the nickelodeon TMNT merchandise thread.
|
Here's to hoping that they're planning on making some shirts in Women's sizes.

Awesome shirts.
Yeah, I wish they would have women's shirts as well, but that probably won't happen. But I'd still get one if I could. |

That shirt is sexist.

Just because we like Ninja Turtles, a primarily a "male" property, doesn't mean we can't want feminine designs in a fit that is more flattering to a female body. I've worn boys' and men's t-shirts for approx. the last 20 years; I'm kind of over it. Quote:

Nick wants this April to be popular with young girls, not sure why its sexist.
|
Oh boy, here we go....

we just want more options :D (though I guess guys could want an April shirt too) |
The Foot/Turtles designs are very good and appeal to all ages. As for the April shirt, having her with the Turtles in the background still shows that the Turtles are the main guys and there's nothing wrong in terms of gender or sex. Well there could be a Karai shirt later on as a second Foot Clan shirt.
|
Ok, that April shirt is really cute. If I saw that in a store somewhere, I'd totally buy it. Even though I'm not a big April fan.
|
This isn't about being sexist but about money. The market for TMNT is boys not girls, if there was some interest by girls you better bet that they'd be all over it making more shirts for girls. The girl shirts having April is only logical since the small market that may want a TMNT shirt will relate better to the girls, it's not about being sexist but what the market wants.
Now I'm sure there's plenty of girls who love TMNT and don't care for April however this isn't exactly a big market so don't expect stuff being marketed to you. There's a lot of kid franchises I like and I wish they made more adult products based on them but I am aware I am not the target audience and I'm just a niche audience. |
I've been a TMNT fan since 1989 when I was 10 years old. I'm well aware of the gender imbalance and have long accepted it.
The April shirt is cute for what it is, but still not something I would wear. I think if they made an honest attempt at marketing to girls/women, they would find success. Obviously it would be on a much smaller scale, but I think it's about damn time they actually gave us a fair shot. |

I wonder if they'll make a Karai shirt for the, "bad girls."

...(okay now I really want some TMNT girl shirts) XD |
Sweet! Me want
|
Just putting this out there, the shirts in this thread are in kid's sizes.
|
Hell I feel the exact opposite way Rose does lol
I always feel that girls get the better t-shirt designs. When I was younger and could pull it off I'd buy them and cut the arms off and wear them. |

As an aside, here's the shirt I'm wearing today: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8...ufd4o2_500.jpg It's from ShirtPunch, so Nickelodeon didn't get any of the $$ I spent on it. |
I actually really like the April shirt >__> It made me chuckle. I want it. I don't care if it's in kid's sizes. I'M TINY, I COULD PROLLY PULL IT OFF.
I'll probably never see any of those shirts on Canadian soil though... |

Thanks for the heads up, Cyber. Quote:
Sad. The April shirt is cute, but it's not a design I would wear. And not just because it doesn't come in a size I could feasibly fit into. If Nick isn't going to cater to me as a fan, I'll just keep buying bootlegged stuff. It's really no skin off my nose. But the idea that there's no girl TMNT market is the same short-sighted Catch-22 that children's entertainment has always been. We don't cater to girls because they don't buy our products, and around we go. And yes, it is VERY sexist to assume that girls will only like girl characters, and that boys will only like boy characters. And to try and support that gross assumption behind the reasoning of "business" is just bad business. If you want to make money you cast your net as widely as possible. Try to get yourself as many consumers as possible. But apparently...only boys matter. |

There's a reason there's almost never been any female action figures in lines and when they finally do they usually shelfwarm. . That's not saying that big companies sometimes miss the boat when it comes to properties and marketing to women. Properties that would be easier to sell to girls would be Power Rangers but even then it's proven to be extremely hard. Now there are other more non-gender specific franchise like Pokemon that could definitely be marketed more towards girls and you'd have a point there but definitely not for TMNT, there just aren't many fans, especially adult female TMNT fans so you have to enjoy the few things you get or go bootleg. I realize this is not what you want but there isn't much you can do about it. |
I already got a new TMNT shirt based on the NickTMNT from Wal-Mart a week ago. I wore it during my 'Megan Fox is gonna be April' video. I'd love to get the Foot one, though Shredder should have been pointing at the viewer. The only problem I have is we need NEW art. Everything seems to be random compilations of pre-existing stock art..

If the online fandom of a property is huge, then that means its fanbase is equally huge. Anyone who lacks the ability to see that as a market to be catered to and explored is quite literally saying to that huge fanbase: I DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY. Telling potential consumers that you don't want their money is bad for business. In conclusion, you can take a flying leap into traffic for your blatant attempt to dismiss my valid arguments by trying to pull the "you're too emotional" card. |
