Wow look at the shells.

CyberCubed 05-09-2013 04:19 PM

Love the shells.

1984TMNT 05-09-2013 04:20 PM

Looks like they are handcuffed? It also looks like the soldier on the right is holding a gun - so I guess that answers some questions on whether or not this "foot clan" will be using modern weapons.

Cure 05-09-2013 04:22 PM

Then Raphael comes in to save them. BOOM.

Was that in the leaked script?

Cure 05-09-2013 04:26 PM

I dunno, I'm just saying because he's not there.

Raph 05-09-2013 04:29 PM

Ah, you beat me to it, just saw this on comicbookmovie.com
Cool to see the mo-cap suits. The shells are pretty big, but the turtles arms and legs will probably be more muscular/buff in CG.

CyberCubed 05-09-2013 04:30 PM

So the Turtles get handcuffed by the Foot?

Please don't tell me this confirms Colonel Shrader.

Andrew NDB 05-09-2013 04:32 PM

Interesting. Those are some serious Turtle mo-cap suits.

That's sort of what I was getting at....hoping that is not the case, but right now so much is unconfirmed that really, anything is possible.

Turo602 05-09-2013 04:34 PM

Pretty interesting pic, but I'm still dying to see what the TMNT look like. And please, don't let that be The Foot.

Raph 05-09-2013 04:37 PM

More shots..alot more!

i guess what ritchson said bout him n fox running aound manhattan by themselves was true then.

1984TMNT 05-09-2013 04:38 PM

I'm pretty sure that is "the foot" in this movie. Not sure what else they would be.

Also, it just occured to me.....are they using those masks as a modern interpretation of a samurai mask? Something like this:

http://images.nationalgeographic.com...63_600x450.jpg

Seems like a plausible theory...."hmm, how can we make this foot clan look militaristic / modern with a nod toward ancient japan / ninjitsu? -Samurai mask!"

Andrew NDB 05-09-2013 04:42 PM

Were it not for the Japanese symbols on their uniforms ("29" I think I read it means?) I would tend to think there might be room for doubt... but since it's unlikely that there is another group of black-garbed individuals from Japan fighting the Turtles in New York other than the Foot, and since some manner of Foot would undoubtedly be a part of things... it's them, folks.

Not looking good for Colonel Shrader. If they would intentionally leak some concept art for "Oroku Saki/The Shredder" right about now that might be a nice way to nip that whole thing in the bud, if they really cared to.

CyberCubed 05-09-2013 04:44 PM

The Foot Soldiers look horrible with those almost racist Japanese face masks they gave them. Why not go for the bug eyed look?

The Foot have always used guns so that's no problem but they look like racist Japanese stereotypes where they all resemble Genghis Khan.

Couldn't agree more, on every point.

Andrew NDB 05-09-2013 04:49 PM

The fights are going to be pretty boring if the Foot only have guns and no swords or martial arts weaponry to go toe-to-toe with the Turtles.

I can see it now... bunch of Foot show up, and it'll be like... Mike throwing his nunchuks to knock the rifle out of one Foot's hand, Raph throwing a sai to knock a chandelier onto another Foot, Leonardo avoiding some bullets and leg-sweeping a Foot firing a gun.

*sigh* Boring.

1984TMNT 05-09-2013 04:53 PM

I have a pretty strong feeling that, from what we've seen of both, the Out of The Shadows turtles are close to what we are going to see in the movie...the shape of the shells seems to point to that. Anyone else see a similarity, or am I looking too hard here?

Raph's Girl 05-09-2013 04:58 PM

Those soldiers look kinda like Klingons with all that make-up.

Lots more pics:

I wonder where Raph is??

TurtleTitan97 05-09-2013 05:01 PM

Interesting pics. Can't wait to see how the turtles will look.

1984TMNT 05-09-2013 05:01 PM

Looks like they are using taser sticks or something to keep the guys in check? As someone else pointed out, the guy playing Raph mentioned in an interview that he was running around the streets of NYC with Fox/April, so they must be looking for the rest of the guys.

No I think you could be right, I thought about it too.
Those shells seem a little too big. But hopefully this won't be the case after all the CGI or whatever is done.

NinjaMan 05-09-2013 05:08 PM

So the turtles will be the actual heights of the actors? That means they will be huge.

What makes you say that? The pictures shown don't prove/disprove how the final characters on film will look / be sized.

Powder 05-09-2013 05:11 PM

Interesting stuff, though I'm disappointed that this seems to confirm the military foot clan, which in turn suggests Schrader...

Wouldn't their proportions be off if they are strung down? I don't know the full details if mo cap so I'm speculating

Haha....we have a whole other debate about this going on in another thread. Point is, with MoCap you can film and change sizes of things in post production. At the same time, yes, they could just literally paste in a cgi turtle the exact same size as the person filmed. It just depends on how they choose to handle it.

Indeed, that was my second thought.

My first was, "*snicker* Look at the mo-cap suits...complete with shells...HA!!"

Ah good to hear! Thanks

Bossa Nova 05-09-2013 05:30 PM

I'm so flippin excited to see these pics. I honestly could not give a crap any longer if they DO turn Shredder into something else, I really don't, and I love the look of these new "Foot ninja' (and since when did someone holding a weapon mean they can't find in hand to hand combat?). I am SO looking forward to this even if I end up being the only person I know by the end of it who actually likes this film. I am a smidge worried that we aren't seeing Raph here since that surely implies he's off doing his own thing....and I'm just kind of sick of turtle films based all around Raph, but hey, he's my second favorite turtle so I can't complain too much.

Krutch 05-09-2013 05:39 PM

Am I the only one who thinks they still have the military foot but may have dropped Shraeder? I just feel like we should have heard about casting already. Not to mention for a scene like this it'd be likely he'd be present.

I have a feeling they've scrapped Shraeder and were left with Rocksteady, Bebop, and Krang(which is already a fair amount of villains). I think they're gonna save the real Shredder for the sequel, hopefully with real ninja foot soldiers.

1984TMNT 05-09-2013 05:46 PM

I honestly hope they dropped the schrader thing, but until we get some sort of confirmation (visual, statement about casting, etc), I dunno what to think.

If they changed the rest of the script to get rid of the alien aspect, I don't see why they wouldn't also handle Shredder properly. The latest remarks about this film from the people involved is that it will be true to the TMNT universe, so I'll take that as a good sign until proven otherwise.

On a side note - I'd rather they would have gone with a more traditional "foot" look (ala the original 1990 movie), but can live with this interpretation if portrayed correctly.

Wow - nice catch! I'm willing to bet those are stunt/martial artists that will handle the majority of the difficult fight scenes.

Either that or....other mutants? I'm thinking the former is correct.

if I remember right, in the leaked script, Casey sneaks in and finds Mikey, Leo and Don held captive; chained up (kinds like what you see here). he finds Raph in different room.

The shells will look a lot more proportionate once the bulked up turtle body's are added with CGI
