A cool little note that was posted on the NTML, I thought to pass along. (I'm not one to go personally emailing these guys, but for those who are more outgoing... knock yourself out!)

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted in a loooong time but thought I drop a line today.

Oh my goodness, my boss is getting OLD!!! Any whoo if anyone wants to
send a birthday message to Kevin feel free to send it to his yahoo
address:
[email protected]

A bit of hype: Literally yesterday Kevin finished up his ARTOBIOGRAPHY
and sent it off to pre press and printing. Should be available on July
15. He has been working around the clock on this book and is really
happy with the way it has turned out and I for one cannot wait to read
what he has to say - should be a fun read.

best

*rubs hands together*
Excellent. I shall send him a birthday greeting! I'm sure he wouldn't mind hearing from the only blue turtle around! :anime:

HorseTechie 05-30-2002 06:37 PM

Whoo-hoo! I now I sent him a birthday greeting last year, on a video tape a handful of us TMNT fans made at the Detroit Motor City Con.

azure turtle 05-30-2002 07:37 PM

That's so cool! Well, I just sent him a birthday e-mail. I wonder if he'll respond.

HorseTechie 05-30-2002 07:45 PM

oh.. that'll be neat if he did.

azure turtle 05-30-2002 08:18 PM

Ya...I know Peter Laird is too busy to respond to fan mail, but Dan Berger's been really nice to me whenever I write him, whether the e-mail is about the TMNT or Gutwallow.

Samantha 05-30-2002 11:38 PM

Wow. I wonder how old Kevin Eastman is turning.

azure turtle 05-30-2002 11:40 PM

I believe someone on the lists said he was turning the big 40.

Samantha 05-30-2002 11:44 PM

Whoa. Memo to self: Email Kevin Eastman.

Same age as my dad.

azure turtle 05-30-2002 11:53 PM

Cool! I'm sure he reads all of his e-mail, but I don't know if he'll respond. It'd be so awesome if he did!

Samantha 05-30-2002 11:54 PM

I'm probably faint right then and there at my computer. Then when I woke up I'd go print up the email and have it framed. (I'm just a bit celebrity crazed)

azure turtle 05-30-2002 11:59 PM

 It's kinda funny, cuz I was wondering how I'd react to meeting him for the first time. I was trying to think of all kinds of things to say to him, but he didn't show up at the Festival of Books.

Samantha 05-31-2002 12:03 AM

Hey, maybe you can see him at the comics convention thing next year.

azure turtle 05-31-2002 12:10 AM

Maybe, but I doubt I'll be going to San D this year. I hope he'll be at the Festival of Books next year.

azure turtle 06-11-2002 12:28 PM

*bump*

Hey all! Guess what?? Kevin Eastmen responded to my birthday e-mail! Check it out!

I just wanted to pop you a note to say thanks for the B-Day wishes! Very thoughful. Sorry I missed you at the "Festival of Books" honestly I was very ill and couldn't make it over. I'm fine now, and we'll see you there next year!
Have a great summer.
Best,
Kevin

Isn't that cool? I'm so going to the next Festival of Books!!

Kali 06-11-2002 12:36 PM

Way cool Azure! That's better than my e-mail from Raph!

Loolaa 06-11-2002 01:03 PM

That's great Azure!

azure turtle 06-11-2002 04:01 PM

Hey, you e-mailed Raph at the official site?? I e-mailed Mikey early this year and was pleasantly surprised that I got a response. I thought that it was pretty amusing to be able to e-mail the TMNT.

HorseTechie 06-11-2002 05:35 PM

Heheh... coolness, Azure! I llike how Kevin seems so down to earth at times. I haven't emailed him, but I had emailed Peter Laird a couple time got responses (before the whole TMNT #2 PDF scenario)

I also emailed the TMNT letters a couple times, but then thought their responses then were rather automated. But being the Don nut as I was, I emailed him a couple years ago a list up of how the TMNT were kinda like Star Wars. (this was before I found the TMNT fan lists or the creation of Jedi Turtles). And lo, to my shock, Molly Bode replied to me to say the list-up was really clever (instead of getting another automated email).

Then I learned they had used the Donatello address as one of the emails they communicate with (but now that's all changed). Heee....

azure turtle 06-11-2002 05:53 PM

Ya, Kevin Eastmen sounds like a really nice guy. Btw, who's Molly Bode?? :???:

Lisardo 06-11-2002 06:19 PM

Hey Azure, that's cool how Kevin responded to you! Yeah HT and I both met him last year at the con and he was a cool dude! If you do meet him, don't be too nervous cuz he is really down to earth.

I have heard of Molly Bode, I believe she is one of the main ppl running the Official TMNT site, dunno what else TMNT-related she does. I think I emailed her one time to comment her on the site. She replied and all, no biggie.

As for the TMNT letters on the Offical site, heheh I emailed Leo and a couple other Turtles on there before. Yeah I believe it is automated. But what was funny is one time I just emailed something stupid to Leonardo and later on Brinatello from the NTML told me that she thinks that sometimes the ppl actually read those! I freaked out! THe reason she suspects that is cuz she told me that one time they emailed her back something different then the automated email. I was just testing it out tho, but all I got back was the automated thing. Oh well, now I'll be more careful what to say from now on, lol!

Kali 06-11-2002 08:05 PM

When I e-mailed Raph I did get an automated e-mail back, but then later I got an actual response to my question. Short question, short response. I saved the e-mail, of course.

azure turtle 06-11-2002 09:22 PM

An automated response? How long ago did all of you send those e-mails? When I e-mailed Mikey, he answered all of the questions or responded to some of my comments. There's no way it could've been automated...

Kali 06-11-2002 09:32 PM

Well, it was back when they had the "forms". Once you sent in the form letter, they sent you a response saying they got your e-mail and would get to it if they could, they're very busy, etc. If you were lucky, they did respond back to your e-mail.

azure turtle 06-12-2002 12:27 PM

Woah...how weird. Well, I'm happy I got a response. I know the TMNT don't exist, but it's fun to pretend. :anime:

Kali 06-12-2002 12:50 PM

It is a cool little novelty. When I started writing my little e-mail I wrote it as if I were writing to Raphael himself. Then I realized how silly it was and changed it. I still got a response from "Raphael" himself.

HorseTechie 06-12-2002 05:21 PM

Ooo... now you got me wanting to give that a try. (this time with something more interesting than a top ten list)

Machias Banshee 06-12-2002 06:20 PM

strange....

um totally off-topic...does anyone knw if Kevin has a relative whose name is Bruce from Berwick ME? cuz if he does, I've been doing his laundry for him for the past two weeks...Ive been tempted to ask, but then he'd think i was crazy or something... :goof:

PWDESAI 06-12-2002 06:56 PM

yeah I never emailed the turtles, b/c i know it's just Dan Berger...
Dan's pretty kickass though, and everyone who likes comics, should pick up some issues of gutwallow off his site, http://www.gutwallow.com. It would mean a lot to him if you just picked up 1 or 2 issues, plus you'd be surprised by how good they are. Also he did an issue of the old tmnt from mirage which was pretty cool.
Paul (I think it's the one where Raph has like 90 teeth

azure turtle 06-12-2002 07:07 PM

Ooh, you should ask him, Machias!!
And Gutwallow is definitely an awesome series! Dan is a very nice (and patient) guy. I've ordered a few issues of Gutwallow, and I plan on ordering more this summer. I highly recommend it! It's funny!

TMNT Freakazoid 07-03-2002 01:33 PM

i know how it feels to anxiously await a celeb, and not be able to see them :(
LOL! gather around for my little story :P
i was gonna go to a wwf event earlier this year to see my favorite wrestler, jeff hardy, and when I got there i waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, etc. and he never came  but thats ok i still got to see the show

PS: not wwf :( wwe :ohwell:

azure turtle 07-07-2002 01:16 AM

Heya, you like wrestling too?! Woah, lots of people here like WWE, including Krang and Shredder. :D I went to the Fan Festival for Wrestlemania 2000, and I got to meet Debra, Viscera, Pat Patterson, Gerry Brisco, and Bob Backlund (who was a pretty funny guy). I got to see a bunch of other wrestlers, like Kane, Kurt Angle, Jackie, Terri, The Rock, Bradshaw, Crash, etc. The Hardys and Lita weren't scheduled to be there the day I was there, though. :( I like Team Xtreme, too, but my current favorite wrestlers are RVD and Triple H.

TMNT Freakazoid 07-07-2002 03:58 PM

Oh yea :D thats awesome! wwe is the best!!!
