How come the turtles don't suffer health problems?
Edit - How come the turtles don't suffer health problems eating too much pizza?
They eat pizza EVERYDAY. They eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Did the mutation do something to their organs? Even if they train/work out everyday to avoid weight gain, it could still cause other health problems. |
In the Fred Wolf series, There was an episode where the Turtles were sick, But it was only a sickness affecting mutants, Not humans.
In another episode (Sky Turtles), there was the problem of Michelangelo gaining weight from eating too much pizza.
In the future Raphael goes blind.
They are cartoon characters.
Expected the logic behind the question to be: "They live in a sewer...I mean...POOP!!"
You're asking logical questions about something 100% illogical that also happens to be a kids cartoon. Stop that.
They are teenagers... they can eat anything and get away with it. Also pizza is definitely not the worst food for a young person. Especially if they eat a variety of different toppings. They can pretty much get all the nutrition they need just from pizza and water! think about it, you've got grains, vegetables (tomato sauce at the minimum), meat, dairy... it's not perfectly balanced but they could be eating far worse. It' not like their favorite food is hostess snack cakes.
Also, it depends on the series but in some iterations they do have well-rounded diets. One of the things I love about the Nick show is that while they love pizza, they aren't shown eating it non-stop for every meal. They eat all sorts of things. |

They're mutants.

Mutant healing factoor...

Because reading a comic about Mikey getting a colonoscopy isn't particularly entertaining?
I don't even want to being to think about the cover for that issue! :teek: |

We sorta saw what happened in "Once Upon A Time". Michaelangelo got pretty fat. He was always the hardest to keep in ninja training. It's not good to be eating pizza and such all the time but with al the exercise and bad guy beating they do it doesn't show much.
When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought it would have serious questions like whatever or not they're cold blooded?
because Pizza is GOOD FOR YOU
Who says they don't, they'll all be dead by the time they're 25. :tcry:
I'm sorry, but its true. :tsad: |
It's a cartoon!!!! If we had an episode where all the turtles were sitting around saying, "sorry no fighting shredder today, iv'e got raging diarrhea!!!" it wouldn't be much fun to watch now would it!

If the ingredients are fresh and they make it themselves most of the time, pizza actually CAN be healthy. I actually LOST weig eating pizza everyday from a pizza place that used fresh local ingredients and made everything from scratch.

My question is if they can catch colds(and they have once or twice) what other human diseases could they get? Reptiles are largely immune to most "human" ailments, and even some illnesses like rabies that affect most mammals. So just how good is their immunity to disease? Reptiles can also be carriers for salmonella and certain other illnesses (without getting them, IIRC), so could they end up passing something to April or someone else even if they don't catch it themselves? As for the pizza issue- I've worked in a pizza place for several years, and the ingredients are usually no worse than anything you'd find in a salad bar. Onions, cheese, olives, tomato sauce, peppers, pineapple, chicken, bacon.... I'm thinking that (Mikey's weird topping choices aside) they actually eat fairly healthy! FYI- a supreme pizza is considered a well-balanced meal choice, due to the combination of ingredients from all food groups! |
isent the answer always....MUTATION? :D
I'm sure they do get sick every so often. After all there was that one episode where the OT Turtles all came down with the flu.
And Donatello gets a cold in the fourth season of the 4kids series (Actually a precursor to his Transformation into a monster) which lasts for months. With the 2012 series we haven't seen any illnesses as of yet, and if we do unless they are poisoned they are not likely to get anything beyond a flu bug. |
Well for the OT we know they can have health issues. Aside from what was already mentioned, there's the ep where Raph thought he was dying because of Donatello's Healthometer, or whatever it was called. So, they can get sick! lol
Because, they're humanoid, talking turtles who live in the sewers and are ninjas. That pretty well covers it.
If I recall there was an episode where the Turtles come down with a particular ailment. I forgot what episode it was from.
they only live on a pizza only diet in the OT...they eat a large assortment of foods in the comics and 2k3 cartoon...so I guess the answer to your question is because fred wolf is dumb.

It was something called turtle-pox, IIRC. And it apparently only affects mutant turtles- if I remember what Donnie said in that ep. They told April she couldn't catch it, being human. I wonder how he know that? I remember she was making them chicken soup, and they eventually got tired of it. So they DO eat more than pizza in the OT!!
Chicken soup is still better then a tea and toast pizza. ;)

In the Mirage comic, they got injured enough times. There was even a time when Donatello's shell got shattered, and he only survived because he merged with a robotic body of an enemy he had fought.
Obviously they are asking for vitamin pizzas. Fiber pizzas. Vegetable pizzas. Dessert pizzas. Iron pizzas. Vegan pizzas. Every possible disgusting combination of pizza imaginable they're eating, and as long as they are controlling their portion size, they'll be fine.
that just raises more questions... how do they go to the bathroom, how do they mate? it's better to not think about it. i think Micheal bay is going to comment on that, he loves dick jokes...
