Evil Mutant

Thanks to one of his old plans gone wrong, it seems like Baxter's mutated into part-fly! At least he was able to keep his signature fro in the process!
Nick just keep bringing in that love. Mhmm.

drgon78 07-20-2013 09:51 AM

Yes I am happy about this as well.

I wonder what his voice will sound like after his mutation.

snake 07-20-2013 09:54 AM

Yeah! He looks great! I love his Afro!

Sage Ninja 07-20-2013 09:55 AM

actually I'm a little disappointed by this...I hope he retains his intellect instead of gradually losing it like OT Baxter did.

Same here, as much as I enjoy fly stockman I was hoping they could have avoided taking this route.

Retro-Specs 07-20-2013 10:05 AM

I'll admit, this was unexpected - never thought they'd do this again. It's a neat - and nightmarish - design as well.

I agree, he should keep his intellect, but he could also be slowly going insane (as hinted by his newly-gained obsession with choco-logs) but just not stupid to the point where he forgets why he hates the Turtles and Shredder, and thinks a dimensional portal is a giant doughnut...

Shark_Blade 07-20-2013 10:20 AM

I know a quick way to defeat him!!

:lol::lol:

Donnie can make a small-hut size electric flytrap.

LOL!!! Yeah I'm pretty excited for him. The Nick crew has an excellent balance between using old characters while creating great new ones. No wonder Eastman said this is the best version.

MikeandRaph87 07-20-2013 10:29 AM

Its hard to get the full effect until we see it in final draft such as a screenshot of him. Its an interesting development nonetheless. I expected him to be plain Baxter with a thing for cybenetics on the Nick show and have his mind transferred into a flyborg in the IDW comics.

Electric 07-20-2013 10:36 AM

Im undecided on whether i like him as a fly or not. But this change didnt surprise me, cause the idea kinda fits with this series. And i was positive they wouldnt do the slowly dismembering Baxter like the 2k3 series, because that would be a little too violent.

TurtleMaster4 07-20-2013 10:56 AM

Meh, I prefer cyborg Baxter, but this won’t upset me one bit!

Sword Slicin' Leo 07-20-2013 11:03 AM

Looks better than the new rat king, but not all that great

Zany Orange Dude 07-20-2013 11:46 AM

I was never a fan of Fly Baxter, even in the OT. I really enjoyed him as a human on 2k12, but I have to admit, I am curious to see what they'll do with him.:tsmile:

TurtleTitan97 07-20-2013 11:47 AM

Awesome design! I do hope Baxter will retain some intelligence.

I think he'll still be smart. I mean Bradford didn't get any dumber when he changed into Dogpound.

Ninjinister 07-20-2013 11:52 AM

Wait, why do we have a separate topic for every morsel of information we got outta SDCC?

CowabungaMikey 07-20-2013 11:52 AM

This looks awesome! I love how this show stays close to the OT.

Good point. With the exception of Timothy, most of the human turned mutant characters still had their intelligence.

I always figured Timothy couldn't talk not due to intelligence loss but just the terrible mutant form he took on. Hmm but you may be right? Guess we will have to wait and see.:tsmile:

In the '87 cartoon Baxter lost most of his intellect over time after he was accidently mutated. It was due to not being a mutant, but due to being a mutant fly. Flies are not a bright species and he seems to have a thing for sugar like flies do once more but more specifically chocolate bars. I would not be surprises if he loses his intellect. Not saying he will but it would not be a surprsie due to previous incarnations and the flies themselves.

I do believe this is thread worthy. I would not have seen it otherwise same goes with the spoiler that Irma will show up beyond the photo from April's smartphone.

Blade Raider 07-20-2013 12:55 PM

As long as he doesn't start working for a nonchalant motherboard, I won't complain.

But Timothy doesn't even have that in the first place.

gobo 07-20-2013 04:49 PM

At least fly brains is an adequate excuse for his painfully boring lack of creativity.

Overlordofnobodies 07-20-2013 05:12 PM

I was to happy when I seen that. If I have a choice between a robot or a fly. I will all was go fly. No he can not stay human. I have let to hear or see one comic or show where he does. I love how he eats a lot of candy.

The only thing I fear is he goes a bit to creazy that he cant do robots any more. He still need to use the giant robot suit and the mousers.

CyberCubed 07-20-2013 06:40 PM

They already did Baxter in huge robot armor so this show did both versions.

Candy Kappa 07-20-2013 06:49 PM

Not really a fan, but the design is cool

gobo 07-20-2013 06:53 PM

The Baxer Fly... OF DOOM! >_<

Electric 07-20-2013 07:03 PM

I actually think ill enjoy fly baxter. i just hopes he keeps his intelligence, ability and other personality traits.

BabyTurtles 07-20-2013 07:44 PM

kinda sad....I didn't really want him to mutate.....

but he looks cool in a creepy way so I trust Nick to make him awesome :3

snake 07-20-2013 07:50 PM

I hope Baxter stays human until the near-end of S2.
I'm imagining Donnie capturing him in the lab and examining him while getting excited!

RaphAndDonnie 07-20-2013 09:01 PM

Eh...I'm not really excited for this or disappointed by the fact that Baxter will be a fly. I've always preferred what they did with Baxter in 2k3. At least the concept art looks pretty cool.

prophecy718 07-20-2013 09:07 PM

he looks gross

but ok, lol

Refractive Reflections 07-21-2013 05:23 AM

:ohwell: And as much as I like the OT, this move just seems too close to the OT. I was hoping that he wouldn't be mutated (since there's so many mutants already in the Nick series), or at the very least be mutated to something other than a fly, then I would have greater anticipation for Baxter's mutation. ...Now this just seems so... predictable.

I was hoping for some new storytelling, or a different spin with Baxter's character rather than a repetition (of sorts) with him in regards to his mutation.

I guess with the exception of the Archie series, it seems that Baxter will forever be doomed to be a mutant fly or cyborg, but I guess that's part of the tragedy of his character.

In 216 (season 2 episode 16). Says that on the art, like the Newtralizer says 124 and Tiger Claw says 213

I thought they all ready hit at it that he will turn into some sort of robot fly? Some thing in his Villain Micro-series I think.

My memory is hazy about Archie Baxter (since he wasn't as prevalent in comparison to the other version of him), so I double checked on TMNTPedia and it said he remained as a human.

If you are talking about IDW Baxter... I haven't seen through it yet. :embarass:

Yeah i was think of the IDW. I never really seen Archie series. So some reason I mix up the two for some reason.

Shreddhead 07-21-2013 11:40 AM

Totally saw this one coming, but I'm super excited by his design.
