Official Episode Discussion: #24 "Operation Breakout"

Well, we're finally getting closer to the finale!

Okay, so after a long LONG Looooong hiatus, we're finally jumping back into the storyline. This time, we're tracking down April's Dad, Kirby.

You know, the more I look at him, the more suspicious I get of the situation with him and April. Many folks think that April is some sort of hybrid born from something from Dimension X. I think it's the other way around...

I'm thinking that Mr Scientist here is a rogue Kraang that got involved with a human, and April is some sort of strange result of it. Or some sort of test tube baby experiment of his. Human technology is too low brow compared to what the Kraang have... why would they bother with a 'primitive' human scientist?

'Cuz he's not human.

Whatever the situation is, Donnie amazingly manages to track him down in the depths of tentacle hell. Pretty easy walk through...

((I'd put the guy from Star Wars here hollering 'It's a Trap!", but I think I got beaten to it already... :P ))

Not only does Donnie get to be a hero in this situation, but we're also going to get our first look at a Native X-er emerge from the prison cells to wreak havoc.

Neutralizer is interesting... an amphibious mercenary with a taste for intergalactic calamari. Hopefully he's not the poisonous type - or one of the species that have slimy LSD ooze or something seeping from his skin. This show's Mike looks dumb enough to be dared into licking him or something... :shifty:

So we'll see what happens!

WILL DONATELLO SAVE DR. KIRBY FROM THE KRAANG?!
IS THE NEUTRALIZER ANOTHER ONE EPISODE VISITOR?!
WILL KIRBY BE REVEALED TO BE MORE THAN WHAT HE SEEMS?!
AND WILL WE SEE WHAT THE HECK IS SHREDDER UP TO DURING ALL THIS?!

Stay Tuned!!

:mango:

Machias Banshee 07-27-2013 09:32 AM

We're open!!

LH 07-27-2013 09:34 AM

That was AWESOME!!!!!!!! :tgrin::tgrin::tgrin:

Man, what an episode!!! so worth the wait!!! Newtralizer ROCKS!!! It looks like for now he will be a threat to our turtle friends. He was an awesome fighter though! :tgrin:

He's an alien experiment huh? Maybe he and LH were mutated around the same time... I can't wait to hear his story. Danny Trejo voices him, so he'll get to talk eventually!

Kirby is a droid... or some other type of imposter... This is going to be good!!!

But oh man... I think what really has me excited is...
Spoiler:
THEY BLOW UP TRAAG IN THE FINALE!!!!!!!! :tgrin::tgrin::tgrin::tgrin::tgrin:

raph27 07-27-2013 09:36 AM

Yay I loved that ep! Donnie was so cute! Mikey: the heart is tender. Squiiiiiiish. April is definitely a Kraang after watching this. And what's up with Kirby? Turned evil or a robot?

snake 07-27-2013 09:36 AM

Amazing episode!
I loved the whole thing. Newtrailzer is awesome, Kirby might be a Kraang in disguise, April has powers or something, AND IM SO EXCITED FOR THE FINALE!!!!!!!!!

Also, Donnie got a hug :tgrin:

Electric 07-27-2013 09:39 AM

To me, it seemed like kirby isnt a robot, or brainwashed, it seemed like he is just in on the kraangs plan, like he was meant to be rescued, so he could lead them to the turtles.

snake 07-27-2013 09:43 AM

Or Kirby turns out to be a kraang, hence why Mikey's fighting him in the season finale trailer, just so the "rescue Kirby" stuff can go on in season 2.
What do you think?

redsai4lex 07-27-2013 09:45 AM

Its really good to see another new episode again! I think Raph and Don have a very realistic brotherly relationship.

Spoiler:
Its probably why they were shown at the beginning practicing with each other, and then again at the end where Raph is trying to talk good about Don in front of April... I love moments like these :tgrin::tlol:

Newtralizer was really cool! I like how he didn't waste any time :twink:

What do you think?

Absolutely... It's very likely.

VaughnMichael 07-27-2013 09:46 AM

This was one of the best epiodes so far in this series hands down.
The fighting was great, April meditating with Splinter, Newtralizer (Can't wait to hear him speak!), Kirby was rescused (or so we think!), Shredder & the Kraang now working together!, April being able to find the Kraang device (which looks like the Turnstone from the Archie series and I still think she is some sort of robot), I seriously thought April was going to find the Ratking after we saw that rat in the sewer.
Oh and I liked Mikey's bad driving and the Kraang calling the other an idiot.
The only thing I thought we'd see that we didn't was Tim in Don's lab.

That's what I'm thinking... They said at the end the real Kirby had not been rescued... implying that the one they brought home was a fake.

Captain PunchYouHard 07-27-2013 09:47 AM

Mikey just slew me with his line about the heart. The feels, man; the feels!

Raph's attempt to make nice killed me too. Maybe he's the one we should be worried about having been replaced by a Kraangdroid. Seriously, though, it's good to finally see that he has a conscience in regards to his brothers.

I thought I was the only one who thought she was going to encounter the Rat King down there!

Captain PunchYouHard 07-27-2013 09:49 AM

Oh, and April is crazy. If you're going to go chase ominous-sounding stuff around in the sewers, why not let the grand master of ninjutsu come with?

Splinter probably had better things to do, like eat or watch TV. He sure seemed fine letting April go by herself.

LH 07-27-2013 09:52 AM

One of my Twitter friends has an excellent theory... Newtralizer was attacking the Turtles... Because he knew Kirby was a Kraang!!!

I got the impression she eluded him. I don't think he'd let her run off on her own.

Good theory, but at still doesn't explain why he wants To kill the turtles :ohwell:

Maybe he just has terrible aim?

I thought that before the episode aired, but didn't have the chance to post it. Because of that clip, where Donnie rescues 'Kirby'. Haven't seen the episode because I live in the UK so I'll just have to wait till it's uploaded.

Maybe since he is "The Newtralizer"

then maybe he is a "neutral" character... :tlol:

just a thought.

Yeah, the neutralizer.
Maybe he is neutral.

Luckyday 07-27-2013 10:04 AM

Didn't Kandy Kappa predict that April is a female Utrom?

http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/sho...t=40715&page=6

BubblyShell22 07-27-2013 10:06 AM

Whoa. What an episode! I loved the whole thing. Donnie going solo to rescue Kirby, the Turtles fighting Newtralizer, and even April and Splinter training. Yeah, I'm guessing April is probably part Kraang herself and definitely not human. Too bad this Kirby is an imposter though. Really liked some of Mikey's lines in this one as well as Raph trying to make it up to Donnie.

Fave quotes:

Leo: Why would Donnie try and rescue April's dad on his own?
Raph: Because I told him he doesn't have a shot with April.
Leo: Why would you tell him that?
Raph: Because he doesn't have a shot with April.
Leo: Well, yeah, but you don't tell him that.
Mikey: The heart is a soft muscle, man. Squish.

Kraang: Kraang is that which is known as idiotic.

Leo and Raph: Mikey!
Mikey: Don't worry, I wore my seatbelt.

Leo: Either Donnie was here, or the owner tried to pick his own lock.
Mikey: To break into his own shop? Come on, Leo. Think on this for a second. Let's move.
Leo: *glares at Mikey*
Mikey: Oh, you already knew that. You say it.
Leo: Let's move.

Mikey: You named something without me?

Overall, an awesome episode. Definitely can't wait for the season finale on August eighth.

I hope she isn't. I just hope she's a human with powers, possibly a mutant.

But what kind of mutant? A neutrino mutant?

VaughnMichael 07-27-2013 10:10 AM

ooooooo I want to speculate too!!!
What if Newtralizer is a mutated Neutrino!

BubblyShell22 07-27-2013 10:11 AM

Well, the more I think about it, the more I suspect she's some sort of Kraang/human hybrid judging by the fact that she could hear the Kraang communication device. It makes sense in a way as to why the Kraang want her.

But what could be so important about a Kraang/human hybrid?

BubblyShell22 07-27-2013 10:16 AM

Because she's the key to the mutagen, maybe? I don't know. It's just a guess. She's either part Kraang, or she's a Neutrino.

Gin Rummy 07-27-2013 10:20 AM

I'm surprised that Nick allowed Newtralizer to eat and Kill the Kraang. They usually make it a point to show that the Kraang scurry off after their bodies are dropped.

Luckyday 07-27-2013 10:21 AM

Well I know saying this will seem a bit "out there" but maybe the Neutrinos are a synthetic slave race created by the Kraang. And maybe April having part Neutrino in her is proof that are neutrinos hiding somewhere on planet earth.

BubblyShell22 07-27-2013 10:22 AM

That was one of my favorite parts.

Me too. Maybe this is supposed to be a clue that the Newtralizer is extra-hardcore, or something.

JTH 07-27-2013 10:23 AM

Or maybe she has Kraang Technology implanted within her to keep something vital from them and that the Kraang need to take over Earth.

Cool side note *If it's the case*: Cybernetic implants resulting in hearing communication
Spoiler:
Captain Picard with The Borg (More STAR TREK)

drgon78 07-27-2013 10:23 AM

Great episode

Wish the Neutralizer talked but we have to wait till next time.

Kirby is not the real Kirby or he is brainwashed.

Though I hope April is not an Android or a Krang.

I like the theory that the Neutralizer attacked them because of Kirby being a fake/krang side.

Loved that Raph was actually trying to make it up to Donnie at the end of the episode.

Mikey being mad at Donnie for naming something was funny.

I liked those lines about the heart and sadorable.

Zany Orange Dude 07-27-2013 10:25 AM

What a terrific episode! Seriously loved it!:tcool:

Maybe April's the key answer to stabilizing the Mutagen with earth-life?

drgon78 07-27-2013 10:31 AM

I hope April is...
A half alien half human hybrid.
A Mutant that looks human.
A Human with special powers.

I hope April is not...
An Android/artificial being.
A Krang that was mutated into a human.
Part Krang.
A Drawing.

Donatello19 07-27-2013 11:15 AM

This was a really great Donnie episode, and one of the best overall episodes in a while! Raph was really mean to Donnie in the beginning, and I loved how Leo and Mikey understand that Donnie doesn't have a chance with April, but don't say anything about it to him like Raph did. I felt really bad for Donnie at the beginning because of what Raph said, but I think it was really cute what Raph did for him in the end :D Why did Donnie get so worked up over a hug? He's hugged April a few times in the series before this and never fainted  Anyway, let's get to my thoughts about the main plot:

Newtrailzer: I don't understand what the hype about him is. He just looks like another freak of the week to me, and the fact that he can't even talk and is just a mindless beast doesn't help matters either. Although him eating the Kraang was very cool, I'm surprised they got away with that. I would like to see why the Newt was attacking the turtles and Kirby though...the fact that he was just trying to kill everyone in sight, including the Kraang, just makes me see him more as a mindless beast.

April: April hearing that noise to the Kraang device was very weird...I assume they'll use that device in the finale somehow. I liked how Splinter was surprised that she could hear something he couldn't, and she said it might be why the Kraang are after her. I'm very curious about April...I like that she's unique and has mysterious powers, but I don't want her to be like a full on alien, you know? As long as she's PART human, which I think she is, then it will be fine with me. I'm happy she's back with her father, which is my next topic...

Kirby: Kirby is obviously not Kirby...if that makes any sense. I knew from the start with his weird way of speaking and calm nature when Donnie saved him that something was up. And that look of hatred after he hugged his daughter...very weird. MY guess is that it's either a brain washed Kirby or a robot in disguise (no transformer reference intended)...it's obviously not the real Kirby for the Kraang to WANT the turtles to save him..after all they said it was going just as planned after Donnie got him out of the cell.

Shredder: I'm very excited that Shredder and the foot are now working directly with the Kraang...but my only question is where the heck is Karai, Dogpound and Fishface? We haven't heard from them in a while and it's weird to see Shredder and the Foot without their top soldiers with them.

Mikey moments: I was happy to see Mikey pick up the Kraang to scan it's eyes (I thought he would finally do something productive) but no, of course not :ohwell: Atleast we saw him do some damage with those parked cars! And no, don't say he meant to do that

All in all this was a great episode, and I will be watching it again for sure. Now to just wait for the finale, which I can't wait for! BOOYAKASHA!

They had Leatherhead eat some Kraang, but they didn't physically show it like they did with Newtralizer.
