Leo / Karai arc speculation thread for season 2
 

With what we found out tonight, how do you think things will go between the two next season? That's what I'm curious about the most at this moment. In the previous series they weren't step brother / step sister but about honor and respect for one another, things are going to be slight different this time now. I think will be getting Leo V.S Shredder too, that's me:D

What do you guys think?

i think itll be more of a splinter development then a leo one.i tll probably be kind of on the back burner for a little until mid season 2, with casey, mutagen man, just survived an alien invasion episodes sstarting off the season

Splinter is gonna rat **** crazy when he finds out Leo has eyes for Miwa

It's a typical soap. Boy meets girl, falls for girl, but woops... they're brother and sister so they can't be together...except in certain states/countries... :P

dont forget. Boy is a turtle

And they aren't of any real relation at all...not that I'm all for this mutant turtle loves a human thing..just saying.

I think like Leo, he's still holding out some hope that Miwa is redeemable. But odds are don't look good at this point.

It's not like Leo and Karai are related by blood.

Why? I think he'd be open-minded about it. In fact, I think it'd make him happy to see his bio daughter and the most reliable of his adopted kids hook up.

Splinter's Japanese. One of their creation stories revolves around a woman's mating with a giant octopus. Or something.

Point being, Splinter's gonna look the other way no matter what goes down, because that's how they roll over there. Step-sibling dating? No problem. TV news shows in the nude? Absolutely. Schoolgirl panties for sale in vending machines? Boy, do they. Popular cartoons where teenage girls go right from school to ninja practice and in between get raped by tentacle monsters? Oh, you had best believe it.

Odds are, if Leo and Karai got together, it would be the LEAST weird "relationship" Splinter ever saw in his life. :lol:

I think this will be more of a Splinter arc for now since he's the only one who knows Miwa is still alive, but he does have to tell his sons the truth at some point.

I just want to know what THEIR reactions will be, those shocked expressions.. Wonder how Splinter is going to tell them. And wonder if Leo's going to mention his.. crush.. if that's what it is. Or was. Well, Splinter doesn't have to watch soap operas since his life is becoming one. :D

When you put it like that it makes it seem less creepy and disturbing!

No less disturbing than what happened in the 2k3 series with Teng Shen and Yoshi being raised as siblings by the Ancient One then falling in love....And Splinter considering them to be his parents...course Teng Shen was murdered by their brother in a soapy love triangle...

I think for at least the first part of season 2, not much is going to change. The interactions between Karai and the turtles will likely hit rock bottom during that time with Karai maybe even trying to kill them, which would cause the turtles to hate/dislike her even more.

Splinter may eventually be forced to tell the turtles the truth, if relations continue to sour.


I think it will largely be a storyline focusing on Splinter and Karai/Miwa, but if Leo finds out that Karai is Splinter's daughter then he'll likely approach her from a different angle from that point on. Last thing any of the turtles would want is hurting their master's daughter.

I can see especially Leo trying to interact with Karai again, knowing it isn't her fault and that she can be redeemed. Which could lead to scenes where he allows Karai to vent all her anger/frustration on him without fighting back. There's a chance his feelings will surface again as well when he knows there's still a way to get her on their side.

to the dot, exactly what i think/hope will happen. It will be development for splinter, karai and then eventually leo when he finds out

Yeah, I'm hoping for that as well. I'm sure the creators/writers of the show have some big developments planned for Karai and Splinter, and with there being some unresolved issues between her and Leo, I hope Leo will play an important part in it as well. There's so much potential in that story arc.


From the impression I personally got of Leo's character in season 1 (I could very well be wrong) is that when Leo finds out about Karai/Miwa, I can see him taking on his master's burden, and then Karai's burden as well.


It's possible that in season 2 Karai might get a feeling deep within that something doesn't feel entirely right regarding Shredder being her father, but she doesn't understand why she feels that way which could become a source of frustration for her

Secondly, she might also be angry/frustrated because she's now drawn into a vendetta with the turtles she originally didn't want to be a part off.


And lastly, she likely still feels angry with Leo on a personal level because in her eyes, he betrayed her just when she started to see him as a friend. If Leo wants to interact again with Karai, then that would be one issue that would come into play again as well. An issue he knows he messed up with, and he knows he has to find a way to get Karai to trust him again.

That's why in my last post I mentioned Leo would allow Karai to project all her anger/frustration on him. The loss of her mother, the question who is her real father, the vendetta with the turtles, Karai feeling betrayed by Leo, a lot of issues that have grown into a burden on her shoulders and making her very frustrated or confused over time.

For some reason, I can see Leo allowing Karai to use him as her "punching bag", while at the same time listening as Karai finally lets go of all her build up frustration and anger.

That picture is disturbing to say the least, but I forgot about the whole thing in 4Kids with Yoshi, Shen, and Mashimi. Thanks for reminding us, Raph's Girl. But I do think Leo will try and get Karai on their side and reunite her with Splinter since he knows how Splinter losing Miwa has affected him. I can't wait to see how that plays out.

Yes I think we will see Karai reuniting with Splinter. I think there's also a possibility for human form Splinter. We only get to see him in comic form so far.

I think it will be more a Splinter and Karai deal more then it will be a Leo and Karai one. Splinter will definitely start acting a little more 'oddly' whenever he hears about her, especially whenever Leo mentions them coming into contact with her. I think Leo will notice this, and if he keeps asking Splinter about it, I think Splinter will eventually tell him.

And as somebody previously mentioned, I truly think Leo will try to take on the burden of trying to 'bring her to the light' after he finds out, seeing it as his duty. I think he'll stop having a mild crush on her, and mainly start seeing her as Splinter's daughter.

However, this does bring up something interesting... This will throw everything the Turtles know and feel up in the air. They as adopted sons will 'meet' their father's bio daughter, and this will probably raise all sorts of personal issues and insecurities. I quite think Splinter will be extremely determined to get her back, especially how he reacted, going straight for the kill after Shredder told him. And I didn't even see that with him when Leatherhead went hardcore after the Turtles.

I think Splinter cares deeply for the turtles....maybe in a way Karai won't know even if she came back to Splinter.

he's spent 15 years with the turtles building a close bond with them as a father, and he was very angry at Leatherhead and totally kicked his butt for hurting them.

of course he'd get madder at Shedder, the dude took his wife and daughter away from him and he's trying to do it again by killing the turtles.

but I bet he wants Karai back more, because it's what's left of his old life and a memory of Tang Shen. (also I wouldn't want Shredder to keep my bio daughter) XD

Well, maybe...

We've seen the mutagen in TMNT 2012 works along the same lines as the 1987 series: when you touch it, you turn into whatever creature you last contacted. Splinter touched a rat; he mutated into a rat. So your new DNA obviously is a combination of your original DNA and that of whatever you touched.

Obviously, humans touched the turtles. If the last human to do so was Hamato Yoshi, then they are in a sense his biological children. It's possible a pet store employee was the last to do so, or even four different humans. So who knows?
