Tiger Claw speculation

So what do you think his deal is? His design sheet says he's Shredder's bounty hunter/assassin from Japan. It also says he's traveled many lands and has a ton of weapons and lost his tail in a duel. So, is this guy a mutant? Magical being? Alien? What do you guys think his story is? What if he's a a being from another dimension that lost his tail in a duel with Usagi? Part of me hopes that's his story. :D

Powder 08-21-2013 11:27 AM

For some reason I don't think he's a mutant. Maybe some sort of ancient deity or whatever like some of the mutants from Archie.
He's got a nifty design, and I'm definitely interested in his appearance(s) based on that and what little we know of his backstory.

TigerClaw 08-21-2013 11:45 AM

Yeah, Me too, I'm curious about Tiger Claw :)

LittleBlueHero 08-21-2013 12:14 PM

Introducing Usagi would be epic... However, due to licensing issues I don't know that that will actually happen.

If it does though I hope to see Usagi in the IDW comic as well. As for wether or not he's a mutant... so far we haven't seen any other dimensions other than X. But the fact that there are other dimensions make for interesting and almost limitless story possibilities.

I could easily see the Turtles spending a season or at least part of one in a dimension of anthropomorphic animals... imagine the action figure potential!!

JTH 08-21-2013 12:37 PM

Wherever the Newtrailizer is from, I'm willing to bet it's the same place Tiger Claw is from.

BubblyShell22 08-21-2013 04:25 PM

I'm not sure what Tiger Claw's deal is, but maybe he was originally human and became a mutant somehow. It'll be interesting to see him and to hear his backstory on how he met Shredder and became associated with him.

MikeandRaph87 08-21-2013 07:13 PM

Does Tiger Claw remind any Archie's TMNT Adventures readers of this guy?

The four arms seal the deal that the character was inspired from the guy.

ToTheNines 08-21-2013 07:14 PM

I think he's a mutant. The Kraang have been on earth for at least 16 years.

Eiko 08-21-2013 07:20 PM

I'm a huge cat lover so Tiger claw going to a clear fav of mine he prob a very old friend from another demension like Usagi could have been Splinter who cut his tail off anyway looking forward to this char.

That's quite possible. And would mean he could possibly be one of the world's first mutant. It would make the history between him and Shredder interesting.

Luckyday 08-21-2013 09:33 PM

I would laugh so hard if he had come from a island near Japan like Ninjara and was not a mutant at all.

Panda_Kahn_fan 08-21-2013 10:28 PM

With those four arms, I think he might just actually be a new version of Katmandu, with the name changed because the nationality connection/pun that's no longer there.

Usagi probably isn't happening. Those crossovers were due to Stan Sakai being friends with Peter Laird, and Laird has been taking some time off from Turtles related projects since he sold the series to Nickelodeon.

That picture isn't Tiger Claw- it's Kintaro form Mortal Kombat.

miru 08-22-2013 08:27 AM

Maybe Ninjara cut his tail off.

Leofan26 08-23-2013 12:33 AM

Maybe he ate a devil fruit? AAHH Sorry, One Piece humor here
An, mutation seems more likely here, think hey'll fight Leo? Seems his type.

*FACEPALM* That's what I get for not being an MK fan. When the guy above me indicated that was him, I believed it, I can be so dumb sometimes. :trolleye:

That's pretty much what they said during the SDCC panel. Shredder gets fed up and travels to Asia looking for recruits to help him fight the turtles, and comes back with Tiger Claw. It doesn't sound like he's of Kraang origin.

Good theory!

Dawnatello Turtle Chick 09-17-2013 11:43 AM

Anybody else looking at the character sketches on nick's website?

They have some pretty cool ones up... Hadn't seen anyone else post any so I thought I would for those who were unaware.

BubblyShell22 09-17-2013 04:35 PM

I love Tiger Claw's design and can't wait to see him in action.

raph27 09-17-2013 05:34 PM

Sorry, but especially with this on Nick, I'm somehow stuck with the image of the stupid tiger lady from Kung Fu Panda....:ohwell:

NinjaPug 09-17-2013 05:42 PM

Just saw the producers say at PowerCon that Tiger Claw will speak some Japanese and have subtitles in the show. Very cool.

That is cool. I wish they would have done that for the Turtles, Splinter, and April when they spoke Japanese in season one.

TMNTFan9000 11-30-2013 01:48 PM

I wonder who they'll get to voice him? I'm hoping it's either Ron Perlman, Steve Blum or Jim Cummings.

NinjaMan 11-30-2013 01:53 PM

Zulithe earlier in the year said he read about a Japanese actor doing voice recording. And since Tiger Claw will be speaking Japanese I wonder if that's his voice actor?

Description of Tiger Claw:

TIGERCLAW
I was just a normal boy in Japan until the Kraang turned me into their greatest bounty hunter: half man, half tiger. My skills are so superior that Shredder has made me his second in command, and with good reason—I am nearly invincible on the battlefield! (Except when there’s a bowl of skim milk around.)

Good, one thing that Clone Wars (Star Wars Cartoon) did wrong was making aliens speak basic and refuse to have subtitles. Glad turtles is doing it.

Thanks for this info!

CyberCubed 01-15-2014 08:23 PM

Tigerclaw was Japanese so why is he dressed like an American western?

JoshDA7X 01-16-2014 06:44 AM

To blend in perhaps? Who knows, maybe he watched too much Dog the Bounty Hunter when he was growing up.
