First time watching the series. Aware me on how the turtles are portrayed?
I know it's stupid to watch or not watch a show simply because I don't like how they portray the turtles. But it is what it is...
I'm used to seeing Leo Lead the way and is the best Ninja Turtle Raph being the best fighter Donnie being the smartest. Although not second in command, he's clearly influencing Leo's decisions more than any other turtle Mickey Goofball.. |

Second, It's MIKEY Amd Third, the portrayals are mostly faithful to the respectful characters. |
I only see minor tweeks to the characters overall personalities in the new show. They are still very much the same. They are just younger. I doubt very much that many people want the same thing over and over again. (But to each his own.)

They're portrayed as teenagers for the first time ever.
|
I'd say they all act the way they are supposed to XD
but they feel more like teens in this version (which is a plus) |
They're great, just friggin' watch it. Assuming you're not a nostalgia-blind casual, you'll enjoy it.
|
Or some animation snob.
|
or a jerk :tcool:
|
I really like this version, sure it has it's flaws, but it is a great shows. I like characters though the animation style took some getting used too.
|
The Turtles act like teenagers this time around, and it's awesome. They still have the same personalities they've always had, but they act younger.
|
Leo's still a leader, but still makes mistakes and struggles
Donnie is the same genius, just a little more high-strung Raphs still aggressive, pretty similar to past raphs mikeys still the goofball, but is portrayed a little dumbed down, but has his moments |
Why is anybody so afraid of change?

some change is legitimately bad.... while others is good but change is scary :D cause you don't know what's going to come from it. so, more often than not we judge the change negatively before it can happen. |

especially if you didn't care for something in a previous version.......if it gets improved in a new version that's awesome! |

(though I didn't have a problem with young adult April) different designs for the turtles is another plus. and I also think their attitudes improved :) theres a bunch of improvements in the 2012 version XD so I guess the change was good. |

I think teen April is an improvement along with actual teenage acting turtles, Splinter as a less old warrior who kicks butt, and Karai's personality.

other things i could see being kept are younger splinter, karais rebellious attitude, and maybe even the turtles new weapon versions (kursarigama and naginata) |
I think the feet should stay with three toes through out more shows. I'd like them to have them more like the wave 1 turtles figures instead of in the show.
|
I'm in episode 13 right now and the show's pretty decent.
The only negative so far I've seen is making Donnie and Mikey total Wimps compared to Raph and Leo. Change is good, i just wish they could have made mikey and Donnie a little bit better as fighters..You know like acutally have a chance to beat Leo and Raph.. I know Raph's and Leo has always been 1 and 2 in terms of Fighting..But I don't remeber the turtles having that huge gaps in skills like it is now. |

just keep watching. |

yup the series pretty good so far..Will keep watching.
Really hoping one of Mikey, Donnie or raph can beat a decent Boss. Leo gets all the important fights Shredder, Karai etc. |
Hmm something I would like to see is another universe with Uni Headbands instead of the multi colored ones we've grown accostumed to over the years. Doesn't have to be red, but another universe that does this besides just the Mirage would be nice.
Im sure its a change we would get over quickly, and like the 3 toes it doesn't detract from anything. I keep drawing to White for some reason as the Heaband color. What color would you choose? |

The only thing that really bugs me about this new show is Mikey. He is just TOO stupid for his own good most of the time. It's one thing to have him be the joker or the nonchalant surfer guy but in this show he's straight up dumb most of the time. It's a bit too much. :tcry:

though...I noticed different writers portray him differently...some make him smarter...others make him dumb. |

he just doesn't pay attention. but sometimes he's portrayed as too dumb..... Spoiler:
|
I don't believe Mikey is dumb in any way. He's not the sharpest, but he's alright. He's just, well, a goofball . . . and has A.D.D. Other than that, I don't see how Mike was really stupid in "New Friend, Old Enemy." He might have been fooled by Bradford in the end, but notice that Mike doesn't tell him where he lives and who his sensei is.:twink: Sometimes, he just plays dumb, but he has a hard time paying attention. That doesn't make him stupid, but just a bit, what's that word? Challenged?
|
Quote:
the only time I felt he was dumb was in Operation Breakout with the whole Donnie Puppet thing "wow! its like Donnie is throwing his voice to himself!" but other than that...people mistake Mikey's silliness with stupidity sometimes. like naming your toes isn't stupid...it's just really random and silly  also Mikey forgetting Leo's plan isn't stupid...he just doesn't pay attention!! (I do it all the time with my sister) |

XD and yea I can say that was a dumb moment, because it happens to me all the time....... |

I used to think that Mikey was dumb in this series. Then I watched "The Gauntlet". My opinion has changed about him since.
