psychturtle 10-12-2013 09:02 AM

I'd allow it. But only as an acting role. Not another concert scene...that was awful

MaximeLoonatic 10-12-2013 09:45 AM

Funny, I always though that Big Time Rush will remade the Ninja Rap...
Vanilla Ice renewing it? OH YEAH

BigMike322 10-12-2013 04:14 PM

He could end up on the soundtrack. I wouldn't bet on it. But crazier things have happened.

Zachatello00 10-12-2013 05:07 PM

Vanilla Ice wasn't in the original cartoon, which seems to be the only source of inspiration for this movie, so I'd guess that chances are slim we'll be seeing that.

The Stryker 10-12-2013 07:31 PM

I'd be ok with it.

But only if he rapped. None of that rock n' rap stuff he's been trying for the past 10 years.

You mean like when he made the Ninja Rap a Jugallo theme?

CyberCubed 10-12-2013 07:41 PM

Vanilla Ice was like the 90's version of Justin Beieber.

Exactly. Let's just avoid any sort of connection to ICP.

THAT'S WHO SHOULD BE ON THE SOUNDTRACK!! Bieber...

Thanks Cube.

The Stryker 10-12-2013 07:45 PM

Seriously though, Bieber can put out a club banger every once in awhile.

CyberCubed 10-12-2013 07:46 PM

All white guys who try to rap really bother me for some reason.

Jester 10-12-2013 07:51 PM

Yeah, people should stay in their pre-packeged race hole.

Now if you'll excuse I have a new Pat Boone record I've been dying to listen too.

Is that before or after taking blue sky?

Leo656 10-13-2013 12:04 AM

F*ck that noise.

And for the record, the official agreement reached by all major world leaders was that ICP > Vanilla Ice. JUGGALOOOOOOOO! :P:lol:

chrisdude 10-14-2013 04:27 PM

As believable and ineffectual as this is, the article doesn't cite anything, or even state when/where he supposeldy made the comment.

I do like Vanilla Ice, though. But let's get a new turtles song.

Andrew NDB 10-14-2013 06:29 PM

I don't think there's any danger whatsoever of Vanilla Ice appearing in Ninja Turtles Part 5.

But he should. That movie should go down in flames, in style, as the culmination and epitome of everything that is wrong and creatively bankrupt in the mass media TMNT.

RaphAndDonnie 10-14-2013 06:45 PM

I'd like to see Vanilla Ice have some sort of ties with the new movie.

wow

I'm and Ice fan, but I can't argue with that.

jestermon 10-14-2013 08:54 PM

Vanilla Ice was like the 90's version of Justin Beieber.

I don't think you grew up in the 90's or you missed a few things, he was nothing like Justin Beiber.

Aaron Carter was the 90's Justin Beiber.

He, would be great as a Foot Ninja or soemthing like that as long as they work in him saying go ninja go.

Eminem? You're opinions continue to be weird as hell.

Leo656 10-14-2013 09:56 PM

To be fair, Eminem bothers the hell out of me. Only partly because of his juvenile "rapping" skills, more that he's a junkie, drug dealer, gang-banger and all around criminal and piece of garbage, but gets to be a celebrity because he has a "potty mouth" sense of humor and sings about his kid in between bragging about his drug habits.

That, and he once insulted a friend of mine. Yeah, I can't stand that sonofabitch.

More to the topic, Vanilla Ice is up there with Venus as far as "Things we mostly all wish never had anything to do with TMNT" and I'm shocked anyone would *want* to see an homage to that.

eminem makes all type of music with varying subject matters and some of these things are untrue

Leo656 10-14-2013 10:21 PM

Uh, he's admittedly had several drug addictions and associates with a number of less-than-reputable people. Sorry if you like his music (really, I mean it... SO sorry about that...) but let's not pretend the guy's some kind of saint, or even a person worth celebrating. He's just a punk with a gimmick who got lucky, let's just call things what they are.

Jester 10-14-2013 10:26 PM

My favorite white rapper...(not sure if should suck up to a certain member...) aside from Powder....is this guy:

Though he's not just a rapper, because he did Linkara's theme (the best part of the series anymore...) Vincent E. L. did this:

don't want to keep derailing the thread...

but just saying whatever we know about the guy is what is heard in the music and through the media's view of things...

as far as reputation is concerned i won't get into that argument...

respect to your opinions though man no doubt!

[PS eminem is a hiphop legend]

snake 10-14-2013 10:53 PM

It would be interesting. Maybe a new ninja rap?

InsaneZane 10-14-2013 11:20 PM

Eminem should do the New Ninja Rap:tgrin:

It's generally the best practice to divorce the artist as a person/personally from the actual art.

Eminem's latest stuff doesn't do much for me but he was an innovative rapper at a time when that was really becoming a dying breed... and there's no one else that can really do what he does out there. And he's taken his lumps to get where he is. I can respect that.

Leo656 10-14-2013 11:40 PM

You're right to a point - I do have to accept the fact most of my favorite musicians have done lots of drugs and had sex with lots of girls way younger than 18, or else just stop listening to music entirely - but the fact is the guy talked sh*t to a friend of mine in a story I don't feel like getting any further into, and the fact that so many people treat the guy like some kind of hero disgusts me as a human being, since by my barometer the ability of a person to talk quickly and go to great lengths to make things almost-rhyme isn't that big a deal.

Plus he made fun of Everlast's heart problem. Which just ain't right, even if he *did* apologize later. Pretty sure it was a fake apology and that he is just that kind of guy.

To show I'm not entirely biased, I *do* like the song "Bad Influence", but as they say, "The sun even shines on a dog's ass some days."

Feel free to ignore this part since it's off-topic I'm kind of just thinking out loud, but since we're talking about divorcing the "art" from the "artist", I do often have a hard time with the general attitude we have, the "Michael Vick Syndrome", that as long as a person entertains us, they get a pass to be a scumbag (or worse, get praised far more than the average person). I mean, John Lennon hit lots of women, by his own admission, but nobody ever says "He was such great guy, *except for that*", they just say he was a glorious human being and not at all a gigantic hypocrite. But I kind of feel like regardless of the songs he wrote and sang, it means *more* that he did stuff like that, and I wish people would be more objective about it, y'know? I mean if you have to like their "art", fine, but don't seriously glamorize or praise these people. Seriously. Shouldn't we have higher standards as a species? I'unno.

Cast him as Chester "Chet" Manley!

Maybe he can play Casey Jones and wear a hockey mask with juggalo face paint.

I am soooo with you on that. I feel the same way about Orson Scott Card, no matter how "good" many people consider his books. As a PERSON, he disgusts me, and so I have much less respect for his work. (Which I'm not even really a fan of, as I feel the idea of glorifying having a bunch of kids being shoved into a military program intended to wipe out an alien species- never mind that they are trying to do the same to us- is just...WRONG.)

On topic, I REALLY would not want to see Ice in another TMNT movie. I thought it was amusing (mildly) back then, but NOW? No. Just, no.

BubblyShell22 10-15-2013 08:59 AM

I was a fan of Ice in the second movie and loved "Ninja Rap," but I highly doubt he'll be featured in this one at all. If he was on the soundtrack though it wouldn't bother me.

And I hear you about Eminem, Leo. I've always hated him and that will never change.

i agree dude hero worship is a problem... turning humans into demigods and deities is not what's up...

i can definitely see vanilla ice as a pizza guy in this movie...

[PS still think the movie is gonna be really bad]
