Since Rahzar never really had much of a personality outside of Nick and the OT, which design wise do you prefer? And before this, I had completely forgotten that Rahzar and Tokka had a small cameo in Turtles Forever. Amazing what a quick glance of the internet will show you.

A tie between the movies and Nick for me.

I guess I ultimately feel like you can't top the original, but I've always been partial to the SNES version. He's quite creepy looking. But yo, the Nick version is craaaaazy! So cool.

Also, while it's not canon or whatever, you're missing one- Kevin Eastmans original design for the character.

Other then the Eastman and Nick designs, the others doesn't look like wolves at all. Movie version looks like a troll doll, and 4kids version like goofy monkey.

I mean, grey wolf... this is the animal he supposed to be mutated from:

i see alot of influence on the nick designed used it's either ciro loved eastman version more than the others or he just took a goofy looking mutant into a nightmare fuel.

The Movie version is my first impression and the best impression !!

Tazi 11-30-2013 03:57 PM

Actually, the Dogpound -> (skeleton) Rahzar transformation reminded me to Greymon -> SkullGreymon from Digimon years ago... Anyone got the same impression from it?

miru 11-30-2013 05:06 PM

Probably the videogame Rahzar, although the Nick version is starting to displace him.

Lord Nightwalker 11-30-2013 08:28 PM

Honestly, I gotta say I really like that Eastman concept art. I like the character well enough mind you, but in that concept art you can see the "wolf" and that was the only thing about movie Rahzar that bugged the crap out of me, his not really looking like a wolf. I also really like Ross's Rahzar concept. Then Nicks creepy demon werewolf look is next. Spooky cool.

Shark_Blade 11-30-2013 08:31 PM

Nick and the games.

The movie version did nothing for me tbh.

Cipher 11-30-2013 08:37 PM

Fred Wolf cartoon, which is a dead-wringer for the Playmates toy version.

The blue shirt and more streamlined appearance are just things I immediately associate with the character.

CyberCubed 11-30-2013 11:34 PM

You know I never noticed Rahzar was always wearing a loincloth covering his pelvis in every single design up until the Nick one, which replaced the cloth with a bony pelvis.

pingclang 12-01-2013 07:27 AM

I really like that Eastman version, but since it was only a concept and not used, I guess it's the Nick version for me. He looks amazing.

Metalwolf 12-01-2013 05:17 PM

I picked Nick. He just looks more menacing and awesome, plus he looks now to be my favorite bad guy mutant of the franchise so far (even to displacing the Cockroach Terminator and Bebop and Rocksteady!) I never had liked movie Rahzar (when I saw it in the early90s) and he just looked like an ugly monkey-wolf-troll thing. The others shown here don't do a thing for me either, so it's just Nick for me. 8)

CyberCubed 12-01-2013 10:43 PM

Technically there's also a Jim Lawson Rahzar as he illustrated the Movie 2 comic adaption for Mirage/Archie.

Powder 12-01-2013 10:57 PM

That's really really reaching.

Both presumably have been ripped off giant monsters Gamera and King Caesar from Japanese film series "Gamera" and "Godzilla":

I know our redesigns of Razhar isn't official art but we tried to make him more wolf like and nearer to a grey wolf. Link to Razhar redesign thread here at the drome

I liked the look of DogPound MkII in the Nick show. He will make a neat figure.

Garfield 12-02-2013 05:42 PM

Best?

well. my favorite is Movie Rahzar. I think its a cool costume to be able to see in live action. Both he and Tokka were very impressive. His design in the games and OT aren't different enough to for me to really even differentiate them.

The one from Turtles forever is cool enough, I just don't prefer it to the others, and Nicks is a cool design, but given what he is, he's too much of a departure for me.

Luke795 12-02-2013 06:51 PM

I chose OT cartoon.

pannoni1 12-05-2013 07:36 AM

For me its the design from the Movies. It was carried over into the OT with extra colors to make it cartoony, and the video games did a good job using its 16-bit technology. The skinnier, more "contemporary" Rahzar just doesn't have the charm of the older designs, but is still acceptable to me, though it has a better inner personality than the other Rahzar verisions. Turtles' Forever was just a bit "off".

Shiro Kame 12-13-2013 09:03 AM

I'd say OT series. It's the best design since it gives him a great costume and likable wolf appearance compared to the other versions, and the Nick cartoon isn't even a mutant wolf. It's just a super mutated Dogpound/Bradford for crying out loud!

While Nick is interesting, I grew up on the movie and have to stick with it

turtlefanforever 02-06-2014 10:26 AM

I never really thought about it

My initial reaction was the movies one.

RaphAndDonnie 02-06-2014 10:58 AM

4Kids design for me. It just looks so smooth and slick to me. 2k12's does too but the departure from the other looks kind of throws me off. As a character though I definitely prefer 2k12's Rahzar with the movie's close behind.

madyankees 02-06-2014 04:45 PM

Movie. Impressive costume plus I grew up with it

Gabriel GP 02-06-2014 05:20 PM

Nick version without think. But they could put some meat in it, he looks so lean. :D

That's like saying Ninja Turtles ripped off Gamera too, makes no sense.

turtlefanforever 02-07-2014 11:17 AM

I don't see how this can be tied.

The movie is so iconic. And just speaking design alone all the legacy factor aside the costume or suit or whatever you want to call it is so well done in general, could tell a lot of serious time and effort was put into it.

shuriken 02-10-2014 08:21 PM

Movie Rahzar because I think that troll/wolf/beast thing is awesome. The Nick version is cool too, but it's still Bradford to me. Rahzar will always be Rahzar.
OT, the videogames, and 2K3 were all ok, pretty similar to the movieverse.
