Anyone get the feeling the Cockroach mutant will become Scumbug?
Nick seems to be turning tons of new characters into old characters, with Dr. Falco becoming The Rat King, Miwa being Karai, Timothy becoming Mutagen Man, Dogpound becoming Rahzar, Bradford's armor becoming Chrome Dome, Spike becoming Slash, and so forth.
That's actually a ton of characters who actually just became classic characters. So we have that Cockroach Terminator mutant...and we saw him change forms in his episode. Do you think next time he shows up he'll change form to resemble Scumbug? And maybe be able to talk and say, "Everyone, I am Scumbug now!" |
can you tell me how the hell a cyborg roach will turn into a human bug exterminator....?
|
Stranger things have happened. Don't be like that just because you dislike CC, man. It's totally possible. Besides, many origins and characters have been changed. It doesn't necessarily have to be an exterminator in the event it becomes Scumbug.
|
I like the old exterminator angle.
A very small possibility at this point. Same if Kirby Bat became Wingnut... So who knows. |

We've seen the Cockroach change forms and break out of its shell...now imagine it changing/evolving (lol, pokemon), into a Scumbug like design. Preferably the purple look from the toy/cartoon over Archie's design. |
Yeah, and Fishface becomes Armaggon, Monster of Doom becomes Nano, that hobo becomes Nobody, ICK becomes Old Hob, and so on and so forth.

I was actually hoping that Cockroach Terminator would be hunted by a very tenacious exterminator who would become Scumbug.

I think the show should become a little less preoccupied with mutations and remutations for a while.

Imagine if they introduced a new mutant Rhino but he wasn't Rocksteady, and instead a totally different mutant rhino character? People would call foul. |

Some animals lend themselves to different versions than others. Cats and dogs are more common place and there are so many breeds we can have mutated. Rhinos and Warthogs are more rare and particular... while a warthog could look rather different (he doesn't have to have to a purple mohawk and shades), but it's almost impossible to have a mutant Rhino and not have it look like Rocksteady and have the fans cry foul. Plus let's watch the show and see what happens. Just cause Dogpound became Rahzar doesn't mean we're gonna have multiple mutations for everyone. Hell if it did, what happened to him would be less special and significant. For all we know, Bradford could be the 'Baxter' of the series and have a new form every season. |
No offense CC but you SERIOUSLY need to take off your nostalgia goggles.
|
They should just make a giant ooze blob of cells, chromosomes, atoms and molecules, and just say that its everyone. Every TMNT character ever created this thing is. It can roll about on a white back drop for 24 minutes every Saturday morning for the next few years.
|
Actually, guys, I can see it happening. Think about it, there IS a pattern here after all. CT could become Scumbug. And for those who are saying that they're not the same species, I'm pretty sure Dogpound wasn't a dog before the mutation, that Fishface wasn't a fish before his mutation, and that Rahzar wasn't a humanoid wolf-dog... thing... beforehand.

Yeah, I'm just now starting to see how he really is.
|
I like how you're ignoring the fact that this is a totally possible thing, and as posters have proven, likely, given the shows history with character 'transformations'.
|
i think itd definitely be possible. as well as others like fishface to armaggon. im all for it too. but, i would say limit it to one or two more. it could get really confusing with multiple characters having two+ different names a forms. it could also get predictable.
dogpound to rhazar completely caught everyone off guard. it hadnt been hinted at, and besides a confusing toy name release, rhazar wasnt really expected, let alone from dogpound. i think thats what made a lot of people like it, was the sheer surprise. if every mutant starts to get double mutated, itll just be a waiting game, like it is right now with baxter to his fly form. |

Really? Like the entirety of this franchise isn't already? & for the sake of God nobody said he'd have to be an exterminator.
|
Maybe you see it that way but I don't.
|
What they are saying is Scumbug doesn't have to be an exterminator...I mean was Rahzar a human who mutated into a dog, then a skeletal wolf? Nope, they changed that. So could the cockroach become Scumbug? Sure...why not.
|
My Archie knowledge is limited, was Wingnut ever a human? Or a creature from Dimension X? What I have read of the Archie TMNT is very limited Mostly around the time Ninjara showed up and the last one being the imfamous torture issue of Michelangelo.

I don't think he will become Scumbug.

I think it's that everyone one here hated on CyberCubed (especially for pissing Ciro off and him running off here) and now suddenly he's liked by a bunch of people and he's just gosh golly swell instead of the annoying chump everyone considered him to be before. Half his stuff is pointless but so is most of the internet so really I don't see why it's such a big deal. |

Also, I can't see Nick doing too many double mutations as it'll look too gimmicky, I think they only did it to Bradford as he wasn't too popular as Dogpound. (I'm also guessing they did this because they're intending to create a civil war, with this guy to be a bitter rival to Shredhead once he gets replaced by Tigerclaw.) Plus I'd actually hate it if they did it to Fishface as some hope, as he's become interesting to me over his wanting to become human again. Not only does it make him sympathetic, it allows a lot more story chances with him other then the cheap and easy dumping him into the role of a dumb (and generic) muscular brawler like Armaggon. Armaggon is good for a quick wow, but he'd have little left to his character. Quote:

Maybe, although I find it unlikely.

They are entering that phase of success where corporate interference is going to have more and more impact. The toys are selling pretty well, so they are going to push for more and more mutants on the show to make product out of. This might be why, arguably, that this whole season is basically about mutagen for amplifying the character universe.
|
So I just finished season 4 (well...now that I think of it I still have the Good Genes 2-parter left) and why for no one make a thread asking is the Minnetonka Mutant was Scumbug...or the mutant toads (who look a lot like toy Napoleon) the Punk Frogs?
