TMNT and its ridiculous hiatus

http://oi40.tinypic.com/uc27k.jpg

Nick really likes to tick of its turtle fans with these long, drawn-out hiatuses(i think thats the plural form?)

It personally starts to aggravate me that i have to wait so darn long for a new episode. I can only imagine how the child audience feels about seeing a rerun.... It's just as bad as when we had to wait so long for Parasitica to air. How do you guys feel about it?

I'm guessing it annoys you as much as it does me. :tgrumble:

ALSO - Episode 8: "Slash and Jerry" LOL WAT?
i'm guessing it's just a wiki troll. I doubt that is the actual title, but until then we'll find out

Powder 12-23-2013 04:00 PM

It sucks a bit but I don't mind much. It's better not to have it all done in one go, and I personally don't mind a break from having to wake up at 10:58 on Saturday mornings when I've only just gone to sleep 2-3 hours prior.

Technogeek29 12-23-2013 04:05 PM

Considering I watched Young Justice which was 3 times worse. I can handle this we're at most I wait a month instead of watching an episode in June then waiting until January just to see the next episode then another 2 weeks plus for the following episode. Yeah the TMNT hiatus has nothing on Young Justice.

OriginalRaph 12-23-2013 04:28 PM

Considering it's definitely not at as bad as other cartoons I have watched. I look at it with the aspect at least we are getting something. It's definitely better than nothing.

BubblyShell22 12-23-2013 04:41 PM

I'm not that upset as many shows are taking a break for the holidays, and people will be doing things with families and having gatherings, so it's not like kids are going to be able to watch TMNT anyway if they have to go somewhere. We can take comfort in the fact that it will come back, though I do hope it won't be a long wait until it does come back.

No, don't assume sh*t about me or anyone. It's normal for any show to take breaks, so get over it.

Roseangelo 12-23-2013 04:59 PM

You obviously never watched LOST.

Bry 12-23-2013 05:12 PM

I'd rather the show have a block of uninterrupted runs with little hiatuses in-between than have new episodes popping up sporadically, or waiting months on end for the season finale. It's pretty commonplace these days, and lets the audience take a breather while knowing when to expect more.

Foot Soldier Clang 12-23-2013 05:25 PM

This just gives me more time to rewatch the episodes that are already out, so it's no big deal.

BabyTurtles 12-23-2013 06:07 PM

Young Justice was worse :) so I'm cool with TMNT :D

MrTMNT2012 12-23-2013 06:37 PM

Lost & Naruto Shippuden have helped me to overcome these hiatuses! :)

NinjaPug 12-23-2013 07:01 PM

I don't consider two months to be a ridiculous hiatus especially over the holidays.

CyberCubed 12-23-2013 07:46 PM

It's almost as if people on this forum never followed any other TV show in their entire life. How is this different than any other show that airs on TV? They can't speed through a season and then have 7 months of reruns.

Except that's totally what they used to do all the time, not all that long ago really. I can remember growing up when a 'season' meant 'here's a batch of episodes that, barring holidays or the President on TV, we'll show one episode a week until we're out of episodes'. I miss those days, a lot.

I can't figure out why they feel compelled to stretch these episodes out over a whole year, it just boggles my mind. I don't mind them taking a break over the holidays of course, but I dunno why it can't come back on sometime in January instead of waiting until February.

bigk4062 12-23-2013 08:58 PM

See, I don't mind too much having a couple of long breaks, what gets me is not knowing when something is coming back on air... ABC for example is doing a winter hiatus for their main shows, but I know when the ones I want to watch are coming back on air... Nick has people searching all over the place trying to figure out what's going on, and THAT annoys me, I work retail and if I know in advance when somethings going on I can tape it (yes I still tape things I don't have a fancy DVR) but if I have no notice then I miss it... I don't think a 'we'll see you on this date' is too much to ask. ;)

I totally agree with the February thing.

Yea that's what I mean - not knowing when the show is going to come back on air. That anticipation makes me go crazy.
Also tbh besides the new digimon show all i have else to look forward to on a saturday is watch a brand new episode lmao. I also know little kids have a lot more other stuff to look forward to compared to us adults haha

Or Mad Men (2 years between seasons).

I don't mind it. Heck, I didn't even watch episodes 3 - 7 until this past week. I like saving up a bunch to watch at once. Cool Slash episode by the way.

OH. MY. GOD. DON'T REMIND ME. ;_;

Seriously, though, I'm not bothered by this at all. I just look at it the way that we're going to get something. (And "Slash and Jerry"? I'm not even sure that is or will be an actual episode...)

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like it was vandalism on Wikipedia as usual.

ToTheNines 12-24-2013 09:45 AM

Read TMNT: New Animated Adventures.

sgtfbomb 12-24-2013 12:29 PM

Short hiatuses don't bother me. TMNT is a Saturday morning cartoon and doesn't have much in the way of competition that primetime shows geared towards older audiences have. If you think about it, we're lucky to be able to enjoy a show that isn't affected by March Madness or the World Series, because it's a kid show, on in the morning. Whereas, I'm sure, that almost all of the other shows that most of us watch endure the "one, two, skip a few" scheduling. Or worse, the "I don't know where to put it" scheduling (RIP Tron Uprising).

Now skipping the entire month of January, that seems odd to me. A lot of employers (retail and retail-based warehouses) cut some serious hours and people are usually feeling the deep dark void that was once their wallets and therefore are spending more time at home and perhaps relieved to do so after all that worthless, exhausting hustle n' bustle of the holiday season. So you'd figure networks would want to capitalize on that.

Donatello19 12-24-2013 01:01 PM

Not as bad as Gravity Falls...

kelligrafie 12-25-2013 07:51 AM

Well TV wise, due to the channels I have/don't have, Parasitica only just aired in my house...

Sherlock (UK version)
Series 1 25 July 2010
Series 2 1 January 2012
Series 3 1 January 2014

And each series is usually 3 x 90 minutes episodes that air over three weeks and then that's it until whenever.

This turtles hiatus is NOTHING.

Besides, we all know that the animators are working on an episode right up until it airs to make it the best quality it can be. They're hardly dossing about.

bigk4062 12-25-2013 08:05 AM

I agree that the two months is not really that big of a deal when it comes to a break for a show I think we are all just so use to convince when it comes to our tv now... Nick is awful about putting up episodes on their website or even playing re-runs on tv... they would prefer to play Sponge Bob all freaking day!!! With most shows if I miss an episode I know I can find it online within a week... the only real exception is USA shows but I can usually find them on tv in the next few days... with Nick I'm lucky if a new episode shows up online in two months!!! And that's why I Hulu ;)

BubblyShell22 12-25-2013 09:21 AM

Yeah, the months have been flying by, so it's not like we have to wait that long anyway, even if they don't come back till February. Besides, I have other shows premiering in January, so those will hold me over until TMNT and Glee come back anyway.

snake 12-25-2013 09:38 AM

It's not that bad for me. Compared to Korra and Young Justice, this is pretty short. Although I wouldn't mind if it came back in January.

kelligrafie 12-25-2013 10:40 AM

And it's not like the Slash episode got left on an unimaginable cliffhanger either.

Can you imagine if it was Follow The Leader where Splinter tells Leo right at the end that Karai is Miwa and then no new episode for two months?

METALHEAD 12-25-2013 12:19 PM

seriously? people take breaks for the christmas seasons and be with family.

its normal for shows to take breaks. and most shows start up in February:tgrumble:

It kind of feels like a cliff hanger since the whole thing hasn't been brought up again doesn't it:tsmile:

Powder 12-25-2013 03:40 PM

Mmm, yup. & I think it's kinda unfair they did it like that.

Leofan26 12-26-2013 01:43 AM

Hey, other shows have it way worse. As an Avatar fan I should know, do you know how long of a break this show gets per season? It's a killer :ohwell:

Thankfully we've got other shows go keep our interests till than :D

Jeff 12-28-2013 03:55 PM

eh. youre still getting 26 episodes a year.

Ryanator008 12-29-2013 08:32 AM

I must be the only person on this forum that doesn't even care about the hiatuses. I like the show, but I'm not obsessed with it and thinking about it every single minute. I have enough TV to entertain me with WWE and Vortexx on the CW. The hiatuses would only be a problem if the show was an on-going story that was clearly meant to be marathoned, like The Legend of Korra. For those of you that just can't take the wait between the episodes, do what I do with Legend of Korra and buy the DVDs so you can watch a ton of episodes at a time.

DarkLightDragon 12-29-2013 10:01 AM

^Nah, you're not alone. I'm not bothered by this hiatus at all either.

You must the only person on these forums who doesn't read previous posts.

Hahaha, who am I kidding, that isn't true.

Luckyday 12-29-2013 10:40 AM

I would rather wait like this and get new episodes show week after week then have a freakin mini hiatus between the episodes like they did last year. At least we know for sure that it's going to air in February.

Ironically, this hiatus (assuming the return date is 2/2) is only a few days shorter than the one last year between Pulverizer Returns and Parasitica.

BubblyShell22 12-29-2013 04:51 PM

Yeah, I saw an ad today saying they're returning in February, but no official date has been announced yet.

Papenbrook 12-31-2013 03:11 PM

I am not too bothered by the hiatus, but I hope the show returns soon.

Shiro Kame 01-09-2014 09:32 PM

THIS...IS...TAKING...FOREVEEEEERRRRRR!!!!! Seriously, it's been forever since the latest episode, "Slash and Destroy".
