Alien ooze confirmed. Utroms?

Any way. Platinum Dunes confirmed the turtles aren't aliens and that they come from alien ooze. This seems to pretty much confirm utroms and the first bit of news about the movie that doesn't fill me with anger and confusion.

Utroms? You mean Kraangs/Krang? ;)

At least we're getting a "familiar origin" for the Turtles...allegedly. After seeing Ficthner's comments I'm scared they're going to make Shredder an alien that created the mutagen...thus he made the Turtles.

It could be possible the Utroms are in human body suits and Shredder is an Utrom suit a la TMNT cartoon 2003?

I'd be cool with that, I just think the whole kraangs thing is idiotic. But at the same time this is just speculation and there could be no Utrom or krang and all

I don't like the Nick Krang thing. I don't even want any Turtle space thing in this movie, but if there is I hope it's Utroms. Not everything should be Nick influenced. Let all Turtles fans have their own thing.

Considering most of the movie is Fred Wolf based, assuming anything is "Nick based" doesn't make sense....

Well, The Turtle Van in the movie is the Shell Raiser based on the license tag it has on it, And that's Nick Based.

It makes me wonder if the movie borrow from the other versions, We see the dressings that are Fred Wolf based, But what if the other parts of the movie are based on the 4kids and Nick series as well?

Btw, I happen to come across another pic of the Turtle Van I never seen, and this one, you can clearly see what looks like Solar Panels on top.

The fact they have a turtle van PERIOD, is OT based. I guarantee you the license plate is a coincidence. Plus the actual Shell Raiser is a freakin' train on tires.

I forgot how god-awful that Turtle Van was.

I wrote about this, about finally bringing in the Dimension X storyline and Krang, plus Fichtner said this character will go through some "changes" in the storyline and "theres more to him", and my prediction was just this.

Its not shredder this movie, its Eric Sachs, a Utrom.

I still think the Turtle Van/Party Wagon is the weirdest of the vans.

The Ultroms will likely be known by that name, but I wouldn't be shocked if they're called Kraangs at some point by one of the Turtles or Foot. If only as a wink to fans of the current series.

Since Nick is apparently vetoing all IDW "winks" to the Nickelodeon cartoon that would seem somewhat unlikely. Not to mention nonsensical.

The species will be known as Utroms, but their leader will certainly be called, "Krang."

Basically the same thing IDW did and just made Krang an Utrom and their leader.

I'd like to see an actual turtle movie with Krang
 

I would want it to be more of a darker film though. Like seriously with a little bit of jokes mixed in.

I too would absolutely love to see a very dark and gritty take, with bits of humor mixed in, just like the original comic series. I also think the original creation story was just fine. I'm also 42 years old so that's what most fans my age are probably hoping for. Problem is.... much like the Star Wars prequels, I am probably not the demographic theyre shooting for. :-?

As an optimist, I always reserve judgement till I see the film. Looking forward to it being good regardless of content expectations. :)
