Jon Talbain/My TMNT Fanart.

I just added some more fanart to another post, so please scroll all the way down. Some of this art is based on past designs and some are based on the new show. An explanation of "Baxter Dog and Mikey" is under the drawing, but some of you probably have figured it out. I hope you enjoy these and would love to know what you guys think!

This drawing is a fun idea I had after watching the "Mikey Gets Shellacne" episode. I thought it would be cool and interesting if Baxter Stockman had become Dogpound II/Baxter Dog. Since Dogpound had carried him earlier in the episode it could have been easy to write it that way. When Baxter, Fishface and Rahzar got electrocuted, the mutagen collar could have gone off and this would have been a possible result. And this way, Dogpound and Rahzar could be in the show but as two different characters. And since the mutagen is unpredictable, maybe Baxter could have some type of electrical powers too since he would be hit by the electricity too.

I decided to throw Mikey in for fun because he would probably do something like that. Hope you enjoy it!

Incredible! All of your designs look amazing and professional! :tgrin:

That Cajun LH looks really cool! Like 4Kids and Fred Wolf combined! And the 4kids character sheet looks great too! Heck, it's all pretty awesome! :tlol:

Love your style! Your lines are beautifully drawn.

When I saw you were a fan of Leatherhead, I hoped you were see these! Since Cajun Leatherhead hardly gets any love I tried to combine the older design with the newer one, so you are spot on! I really appreciate your comments, very inspiring. I love designing characters more than anything, so this really inspired me. I am actually uploading a few more drawings now.

I am glad you like my style, that really means a lot! I have always loved doodling and sketches and keep trying to improve my linework. Though sometimes I like the sketchlines being all over the place. Thanks again, I am uploading some more art now.

This has Guilmon from "Digimon Tamers" and Madzilla from the "Super Mario Bros: Super Show" as well as Leatherhead and a head shot of Cajun Leatherhead.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5281cad7.jpg

This is a sketch comic I did of Leatherhead still wishing he could become human or less of a monster.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps17f05021.jpg

Here is a comic concept I did to see what it would look like if the turtles had 3 fingers and a thumb, four digits on their feet and claws.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9e8630e0.jpg

And here is one of the pages of my comic that features my version of Bebop and Rocksteady. They are from an alternate dimension and are laid back gamers. I hope you all enjoy these and would love to know what you think!

Nice work. I think I've actually seen that Mikey and Leatherhead picture floating around on the Internet...

The concept of Rahzar and Splinter duking it out is nice too and I really like how you made Rocksteady look and Bebop's not bad either.

BubblyShell22 01-26-2014 03:47 PM

Wow. This art is amazing, and I really admire your talent. Keep up the shelltastic work.

Thanks, ah I see. I have posted it a few other places. I am glad you like the concepts. Bebop and Rocksteady are two of my favorite characters, I will be drawing them more soon. Do you have any art posted here? I would like to see and comment on yours too.

love your art style, can't wait to see more!

Dark Man 01-27-2014 12:29 AM

Wow! It's nice!

Refractive Reflections 01-27-2014 04:01 AM

I gotta ask Jon Talbian... should we expect a longer fan comic from you perhaps? ;) And just out of curiosity, what made you to decide in making Nick Baxter a dog rather than another type of mutant or sticking with him being a fly (as it's predicted for the Nick series)?

It's also a bit unusual seeing Bebop with his "hair down" (so to speak) and without his mohawk. Your good work is making me curious about how you'll draw the 4 Turtles now. :)

Shark_Blade 01-27-2014 05:13 AM

Wow, your arts are great! :D

I especially love your Leatherhead, Rahzar and Splinter.

The comic page with Bebop and Rocksteady is part of a much bigger comic. It has crossovers from many different fandoms like An American Tail, Darkstalkers and All Dogs Go To Heaven, but I have been thinking of doing a comic just based on TMNT. I got the idea for Baxter Dog after Dogpound had carried him earlier in "Mikey Gets Shellacne." When he got electrocuted, the mutagen collar could have gone off and since he still had Dogpound's fur on him, he would mutate into a similar type dog mutant.

I thought it would be a way to keep a similar design to Dogpound and still having Rahzar in the show too. I altered Bebop's hair because he is meant to be more in tune with this time period, but I still wanted to show he is African American. I do have my own designs for the turtles and I will post them eventually. Thanks for your great comments an questions, really appreciate it.

Here are a few more pieces of art. Thanks for the great feedback so far and I hope you enjoy these! Would love to know what people think, especially on my original reptile characters that were inspired by Leatherhead.

This is a sketch sheet with Disney's Beast, Bear Thief from Dragon Ball, Callismon of Digimon(Bearlike Digimon) and another sketch design of Rocksteady of TMNT.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps23b3a385.jpg

This is Junkyard Dog from Toxic Crusaders done a bit in my style. Since this show was inspired by TMNT, I thought I would include it here too.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps27806af2.jpg

This is another page of my K-9 Agency comic, but an older one. Here we have Mean Old Wolf from Disney's Bonkers), Sajin Komamura from Bleach, Balto, Leatherhead from TMNT and Man Wolf from Dragon Ball.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psd403a28c.jpg

This is Lockjaw, a highly intelligent crocodile type anthro. He is also a nice guy and loves peace between anthros and humans. Most humans may run though because he is over 14 feet tall and think he will eat them. I created Lockjaw and Marty and being inspired by TMNT's Leatherhead.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psf960e7ee.jpg

And this is my original character Marty. He is related to the anthro race that Lockjaw is from, but still a bit different. He is a Gator anthro and he is 16 feet tall. He is very nice and has a childlike IQ, so he doesn't know his strength.

This really means a lot, because when I first started drawing I really wanted to work for Disney. Hopefully one day! I actually have a new drawing below that features a Disney character.

Really appreciate it. I love to sketch more than anything, glad you are enjoying these drawings. I just put up some more below.

Does anyone remember the skinny purple dragon that got hit with super mutagen and turned into a big dog mutant in the movie "Turtles Forever?" I decided to draw him and give him an unofficial name "Dakar." I will be doing more fan art of him someday and he will be included in my comic as well. This was drawn with reference.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps50909d19.jpg

Here we have Mabel from Disney's "Gravity Falls" an Fleg from R.L. Stine's Goosebumps "The Beast from the East." Since there are so many supernatural things going on in both works, I thought what would happen if there was a Goosebumps/Gravity Falls crossover. Here we have Fleg from "Beast From the East" wondering what in the world is going on.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...pse63d6fee.jpg

This is Tai Lung from DreamWorks "Kung Fu Panda" drawn a bit in my style. He will also be in my comic and this version of Tai Lung is from a different world and has a very different fate.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psa0fd8dfb.jpg

These are two of my own original characters, Erica and Xendene. I like the concept of an innocent, normal girl with a huge, potentially dangerous creature. Though Xendene really doesn't even want to hurt a fly. Xendene is sleeping and smiling, dreaming of his best friend Erica...who he will protect and follow to the ends of the universe. Erica is here, looking worried as usual. I mean, what is she going to do with a huge dragon? Hope you guys enjoy these!

Just awesome, and yet another cool thing you like, Gravity Falls:D

BubblyShell22 01-31-2014 08:12 AM

Thanks so much! I am glad you enjoyed the one with Mabel, I had a lot of fun with that one. I love sketching and sketchlines so that really means a lot. I will be drawing Gravity Falls characters with some TMNT sooner or later. Thanks again!

Great to hear it! I actually have a pitbull anthro OC that I just posted below with a few other drawings. I will definitely keep them coming, thanks a lot!

This is the first concept I did of "Baxter Dog." I didn't have as much success in the end but still decided to show it here. I think the one I drew of him with Mikey came out better. I tried to give him a dopey pose, but definitely could have pulled it off better.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psbe7a24a7.jpg

This is a version of Scooby Doo I drew in my style for my comic. This Scooby can talk perfect English and is as intelligent as he is brave.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6625a9f7.jpg

Here is one of my original characters made for my comic. He is an anthro pitbull and is also a pretty nice guy. But if pushed, he is an excellent fighter.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5573a9ee.jpg

This is a mock model sheet I made for a character of the cancelled film version of Don Bluth's "Banjo the Woodpile Cat." Just in case someone is wondering
who Don Bluth is, he created the animated films All Dogs Go To Heaven and the first American Tail. He was one of my main inspirations as a kid. There were
only some details in writing on what this character may have looked like and I tried to draw him myself.

Truly appreciate it! Expressions are one of my favorite things to do, so glad you enjoy them. I will be posting more soon. I also like your icon, is that an original character?

Sounds great, let's do it! I draw and study so much and only improve 1% but I will never give up. I have more drawings below!

This is the Cajun Leatherhead and Mabel drawing I was talking about doing. I think it turned out rather well.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psbb7a81bc.jpg

Does anyone remember Triumph the Insult Comic Dog from Conan O' Brien? I drew him as an anthro for the comic I am doing.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psafe3f768.jpg

This is Yogi Bear drawn in my style.
http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3e254fd2.jpg

Here we have Pfish and Chip from "What a Cartoon Show". They unfortunately only had 2 pilot episodes and didn't get a full series.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps315aba61.jpg

And this is one of my favorite Digimon teams, the tragic Leomon and Jeri from Digimon Tamers.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psd14d10fe.jpg

Here we have Po from Kung Fu Panda. He is also one of my favorite characters.

Yes I do, I have been on there for a pretty long time. I am DarkMane on there. http://darkmane.deviantart.com And thanks, I am glad you like my style. I have been working harder to create my own, as I drew after Bluth and Disney so long. I am starting to see my style get stronger though. I want to have a mixture between cartoon and anime. But I plan to throw more realism too. I think I am getting there.

I appreciate it! Yes, Triumph was always one of my favorite characters, how dare they retire him! But I felt he deserved to be drawn as an anthro and I will keep on doing fanart of him.

Jon_Talbain 02-19-2014 10:25 AM

Here is a bit more art from me. I am in the process of doing more TMNT art, but hope you guys like these in the meantime. This first one is a practice/fanart of one of Don Bluth's cancelled films "Kandu Song of the Ice Whale." I could only find 2 images of him and the bottom drawing of him pointing is done with direct reference. The other 3 headshots are my own attempts at some expressions. Although Bruno is a polar bear, his design reminds me of Itchy and Jenner combined. I really wish this movie had come out, seems like this would have been a pretty interesting character.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps30b59e0c.jpg

Here are two head shots of my original T-Rex character Aldin. And "Adventures in Dinosaur Forest" is the name of yet another unrealized comic I once wanted to do. I was going through my sketchbook and came across this....I had completely forgotten about it. He looks mean most of the time, but he can show emotion as you see in the right drawing. He is a good guy but has a bit of a temper.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5555534d.jpg

Two drawings of Brer Gator and one with Brer Rabbit. Done with reference.
Characters © Universal

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...pse08a4e1d.jpg

Here is my original dragon character, Xendene again. He is often paired with my other original character Erica, the human child who shares his soul. This drawing is for a future idea and comic. Xendene is picked by the Dragon King to be on the front line of an upcoming war. Since Xendene is one of the biggest dragons, it is assumed he is a great fighter without fear. Too bad that is way off.....
