What's the WORST TMNT theme song?
 

We all know which is the best (or at least most iconic/memorable)...but which is the worst? Choices are:

OT/Fred Wolf (original version)
Ot/Fred Wolf (red sky version)
Next Mutation
2K3/4Kids (original version)
2K3/4Kids (second version...not much of a difference but I wanted to include them all)
Fast Forward
Back to the sewer
2K12/Nickelodeon

Personally, I think the worst is either Fast Forward or Next Mutation...what about you guys?

I'd have to say the Fast Foreward theme. Close runner ups are the NM theme and the second OT theme.

Definitely The Next Mutation (BOTH VERSIONS!!). While the 1987 original version is pretty clearly the best, being of course boosted on popularity and influenced upon for the Nick series, The Next Mutation definitely lacks the catchy hooks that the other themes, even the later 4kids-era ones had with their fun rock style. And the scary part is that I'm judging on the ORIGINAL 1997 version. At least it had the catchy "Na na na na na na na- NINJA TURTLES!" hook inside of it admist some crap rap that is lame compared to Nick's rap version. The Hub version is just a big old "WWTF" that makes me want to change the channel!

Dear god...I just watched that whole thing. I remember watching that and actually kind of liking it as a kid...what was wrong with me? :lol:

FF without question. Every time that start to play the theme song I put on mute. Seriously, this song is disgusting.

For me it is red sky :tgrumble:

The Next Mutation Netflix theme really stinks, but I kinda liked the original when it aired on Fox. I voted for Back to the Sewer.

Honest question: is there anything about the Nick show that you like?

In terms of the theme song, Fast Forward is definitely the worst. The theme is so bland. Even Back to the Sewer's was better, if only slightly. My favorite theme is Nickelodeon's, followed closely 4Kids'.

Don't remember much of the NM theme, but I would say fast forward.

Fast Forward comes close, but I have to go with the new version of the Next Mutation theme. It's just so awful

Next mutation was rather lackluster, all of the 4kids theme songs wasn't all that great either, very... Lacking in spirit. And I really wish the Nick one was performed by some one that didn't sound half asleep.

Well, I'm deciding between Fast Forward and Next Mutation. The first is a bit less awful than the second, but this last is shorter than FF...

Meh, I'll choose Next Mutation

I don't know what scares me more, the songs or that the turtles never blink XD

Fast Forward theme was awful with the vocals but if you listen to the instrumental version, it's simply exquisite and excellent.


TNM is like a pile of dog crap, so I vote that.

I don't remember TNM's theme, but I do think Fast Forward was horrible.

Fast Forward. The Next Mutation is cheesy and dumb, like it's supposed to be. Fast Forward is forgettable, and I only liked the Turtles' ''catchphrases'' in that.

I had to go with 2k3's original, because only the theme tripped my Contact Embarrassment trigger, where as the entirety of TNM did.

Oh man. There are a few truly good theme songs in there (the original 1987 one is a classic, of course, and the 2012 theme is a solid re-imagining).

The 2003 series had some rough ones. The original (and its variations) was kind of obnoxious and grating, but not... terrible? Certainly not good either, but it grew on me a bit over time. The Fast Forward theme is maybe marginally better from a musical standpoint, but the lyrics and character quips are pretty embarrassing. I'd say that Back to the Sewer easily had the best theme song of that run. (But maybe I'm alone on that one?)

But... I think I have to go with The Next Mutation for the worst. It is a mess.

Wow. I'm surprised that so many people didn't like the Fast Forward theme song. I thought it was pretty catchy. I expected that Next Mutation would run away with this one. But Fast Forward is right there with it.

well in my defense...I never heard The Next Mutation theme....

No you're not alone, for me BttS had the best song of 2003's series either.

OT / Fred Wolf version is really bad.

BUT: the GERMAN OT HERO TURTLES version is really cool !! Sung by Frank Zander.

i voted next mutation simply cause it is the worst of the bunch that i have heard. OT red sky being a close second.

Woah, woah. There is nooooo reason why Next Mutation should be running away this this thread. The theme song is the best part of that show.

The only right answers here are the original 4Kids theme or Back to the Sewer. Go home, people. The Fast Foward theme is a low-runner as well, but it fits and is at least catchy. It's pretty painless.

I still vote for "We're the Turtles"... :P

Say it for yourself. FF for me it's waaaaaaaay more painful than the original 4Kids theme and BttS.

Hmmm... Worst theme song in my opinion would have to be Fast Forward's. The show has actually grown on me. Still can't get into the theme song, however. I tried. I really did. I don't hate it. Just can't get into it. I actually like it without the lyrics, if that makes sense. I've listened to it via the DVD's main menu and the tune itself isn't half bad. The orchestral version played during key moments sounds cool too. So yeah, FF would have to be my least favorite. God, been forever since I watched Next Mutation. Gotta look that song up. It had a different theme for closing creds didn't it? Rap, I wanna say.
