Dogpound VS Rahzar
I'm I the only one who honestly is very sad and missed Dogpound ever since Mikey Gets Shellacne? It's great to have a new character, but the idea of losing such a fun and original character just to make a nod to the vintage is just sad. Now everyone will probably forget about Dogpound and forget all the good times with him. Let me know what you think about this. Do ya miss the tough and buff pooch or do you prefer the nocturnal predator?
|
Yes I do. I really didn't see a point to changing him to Rahzar I thought he was cool as Dogpound.

I absolutely love Rahzar & his design but yeah I do miss Dogpound. He & Fishface were one of my absolute favorite aspects of the show. But it's all good, there's always the older episodes & comics that feature him.
|
Am I the only one that misses Chris Bradford's original design?

Did not care for Dogpound's design. |
I don't mind, it's still him underneath all that. The voice actor is great.

Dogpound was an ugly, stupid and clumsy design. I think the writers realized this halfway through Season 1, and since a dog and a wolf aren't that far apart, changing him to Rahzar made a lot more sense.
I don't think Fishface will change since his design is a lot more distinct. |

We got to see plenty of times that Splinter is still Hamato Yoshi, so why not the same for this other guy? |

I miss Xever's human form too, his fighting style looks a bit clunky when he is Fishface.
|
I personally prefer Rahzar due to the development leading towards him and finally attaining a body close to what he was prior to his mutations.
Of course, since I've heard of the Rahzar nerf (I haven't watched The Manhattan Project yet), then I don't know. |

And just to clarify, we aren't all black or indigenous  |
I prefer rahzar because atleast now he can act and move more ninja with his new body unlike when he was dogpound... I miss it though.
|
While Rahzar's skinny, skeletal werewolf design is cool, I kinda miss the big, bulky Dogpound.
|
It's still him, just a different form/design. I like Rahzar a lot better, Dogpound seemed a lot more silly than threatening, but he was fun to watch, still.
|
Dogpound looked really silly. I honestly couldn't take him seriously.
|
Let's compare:
http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...3/Bradford.png http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...0/Rahzar_1.png Dogpound has some pros...I like that he's muscular and I like that he still has some of his original armor on...but let's face it, Rahzar look a lot cooler. |
Dogpound looked kinda odd when he was just standing around and talking.

I'd have to say it's a tossup between Rahzar and CB's original design. From all the descriptions I've gathered, digging the original design but really lovin Rahzar so far. Ya never know. Guy could get demutated some day and become his old twin of Chuck Norris self. I'd love to see some backstory on this guy too, btw. I agree with Shark_Blade concerning Clancy Brown's awesome voicework. Glad he's a part of TMNT 2012.

McInerey was in a deleted scene, from the Manhattan Project episodes...

Yeah, I miss Chris Bradford in his original form. And I think I may even miss Dogpound, with his huge menacing bulky figure. But I actually really liked the transition from Dogpound to Rahzar. Totally didn't expect it. I like his new body, but I'm not exactly in love with it yet. So I'm going to let this character grow on me, and see where he ends up.
There's been characters I've liked even less in this show (Casey and Irma) that ended up really growing on me (still working on Irma), so I'm excited to see Rahzar's potential. And as someone already pointed out, he's still the same guy. Same personality. |
I love both designs they are both unique, I wish they would have kept the Dogpound design and kept them as separate characters or something I'd still want to see Rahzar his designs is amazing:D
|
Shredder evidently liked the Dogpound version of Bradford better. He remarked in the Manhatten Project that Bradford looked terrible.
The thing I can't get used to is seeing Rahzar without Tokka. It would be like having Bebop but not Rocksteady. It doesn't make sense to me. |
I liked Dogpound it was fresh and new, played out Rahzar in the 90's.

Zachatello, its Razhar in name only so its not like Razhar is causing havoc without his little buddy,Tokka. |

Rahzar looks like a zombie, that thing shouldn't be alive. I liked Dogpound more.

It's like Splinter. In some shows he's Yoshi-turned mutant, and in others it's the rat that gets turned. |
Maybe they'll do a Tokka nod it an episode where Rahzar and Slash team up to take on the turtles. IDW comics basically combined Tokka with Slash and that's what Slash kind of looks like in the Nick toon.
|
Wolf zombie just looks like a wolf zombie.
At least Dpound looked like some mutated dog/human thing. He even had a mustache, that was the best part. |
I really like Rahzar's design, I'll give him that. But overall I like Dogpound more. He seemed to hold onto a bit more of his humanity while Rahzar feels like he's now shifted into embracing his new mutant form and we already have a lot of these mindless mutants running around. Dogpound just seemed like he had more potential for personal exploration and I wish we got to see more of it.
Though to be perfectly honest, I which Bradford has just stayed human. While his design was pretty obnoxious, I really liked him as the super famous martial arts guy working secretly for the Shredder. That could have really had some unique possibilities that I wish hadn't been thrown away so quickly. Hopefully Rahzar will start showing some more of that humanity that Dogpound did. |
