4 Choices for April: Who Would You Have Cast?

This may have already been discussed, but I'm curious. There were four actresses up for April in the upcoming movie:

Jane Levy
Anna Kendrick
Elizabeth Olsen
Megan Fox

Obviously Megan Fox got the part, but out of these four, who would've you wanted as April and why.

I would've picked Jane Levy, because I was thinking of her as April before it even was announced that she was up for the part. I think she's a good actress and would fit well as April.

UGHShellshocked 03-18-2014 02:44 PM

I agree with Jane Levy

TurtleMikey 03-18-2014 02:48 PM

Anna Kendrick, but I very much like Megan Fox in the role.

And Elizabeth Olsen is one the last people I'd cast as April.

BabyTurtles 03-18-2014 02:52 PM

I don't know any of these actresses other than Megan Fox, but Jane Levy looks like April, so I'll pick her :D

plastroncafe 03-18-2014 03:09 PM

As a Mirage Purist, I'd choose Jasika Nicole, but...she's not listed.
Woe.

Anton Chigurh 03-18-2014 03:21 PM

I love Anna Kendrick I just don't think she's "April" Jane Levys a good choice

pdizzle 03-18-2014 03:28 PM

Jane levy or anna kendrick would have been great, but personally i really wish they would have cast emma stone (I know she was busy with spider man) but....ive allways thought she'd make a great if not perfect april.

Lou 500 03-18-2014 03:32 PM

Anna Kendrick.

Agreed! Emma Stone would've been the perfect choice.

leolao 03-18-2014 03:42 PM

My choice for April is Elizabeth Henstridge from Agents of Shield.

ObiWanFan4life 03-18-2014 03:56 PM

Either Jane Levy or Anna Kendrick would be good choices.

chrisdude 03-18-2014 04:33 PM

I can't say I've seen Anna Kendrick or Elizabeth Olsen in anything. But, at least, people like them. I really feel like there's a broad enough range in how April is portrayed, that you could build an April with pretty much anyone. Zoe Saldana could nail the attitude I'd want to see in an April, but I'm sure looks would be a problem for some.

Lone Ranger Ninjutsu 03-18-2014 04:38 PM

I suppose it depends on what kind of April you prefer.
In some instances, she's a struggling reporter. In other Turtles media, she's a young up-and-coming scientist and overall genius. Personally, having grown up with the 2003 show, I prefer the latter. However, seeing how the new film will once again interpret April as a reporter, I find myself at a loss as to who I'd cast. It would have to be an actress with enough acting chops to be in a film where she'd be making constant nods to anthropomorphic, adolescent, turtles who wear color coded Lone Ranger masks and have been trained in ninjutsu, and somehow make it all sound serious in reference, yet still without taking herself too seriously. Surprisingly, it's a lot more complicated in theory than I would have ever imagined.

Lol.....theres a lot of thought that went into this post.....
nice reply tho. Now that youve put it out there like that I can see your point.

Tora 03-18-2014 05:09 PM

Anna Kendrick would have killed it as April.

Shark_Blade 03-18-2014 05:35 PM

Elizabeth Olsen, she's amazing in Silent House (creepy movie). Go watch it now!

But I'm cool with Megan Fox either way. :D

Warhorse 03-18-2014 06:32 PM

Eh, Megan Fox, I don't care for the other girls at all. (I think I would have chosen Adrianne Palicki)

TrickOrTreater 03-18-2014 06:49 PM

These two

Jane Levy
Anna Kendrick

were BOTH up for the role?

And they went with Megan Fox?

They probably chose her for a few reason, but I imagine between their familiarity with her work and how infamous she is I imagine these were there two main reasons.
Hell I don't keep track of actors or actresses or directors, but when I hear the name Megan Fox I know who she is.
As much grief as the media gives her I really enjoyed her in the 1st transformers.

Well it's a good thing the people behind this movie were more concerned with actors with noteriety, instead of just casting actually good actors that look the part MORE than what they went with.

Film's in GOOD hands.

Hmm...
Well, if they were going for a younger April O'Neill (like the new show), then I would have suggested Abigail Breslin. She's around the perfect age to pull of the role (only two years older than me) and judging by her ever growing filmography, she's consistently good in everything she's been in, even when she was fairly young (Little Miss Sunshine comes to mind).

Although, if you want a more mature actress playing an April in the vein of the eighties cartoon, I'd recommend someone like Rebecca Mader.

zkarlette 03-21-2014 06:54 PM

Many come to mind like Jane Levy, Isla Fisher, Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard, Christina chastain or even Christina Hendricks.

turtlefanforever 03-21-2014 09:41 PM

Levy hands down

she's just the best look and choice overall

Warhorse 03-21-2014 10:53 PM

Something really funny, when I was a kid, and watching the OT, and then seeing the 1990 movie, I really didn't care for that April, and actually thought the main singer, Cindy Herron, from En Vogue, looked more like OT April in their Hold On music video.

Really, just put on your color blinds and look, she's the tall one of the group. At least I thought she looked like old school April in this video.

Kendrick hands down.

joefsas 03-22-2014 03:01 AM

To be honest, the last person i wouldv'e chosen is Megan Fox but meh, what's done is done.
I personly would have liked to see someone a bit older take on the role,
Rose Byrne, Lauren Graham etc

Really? Last person I would have chosen would be an actress I can't stand. I don't care how many trophies this chick has, I would have had a sh!t fit if Carey Mulligan was going to play April. Cannot stand that chick at all! She ruined Drive for me, and that movie could have been awesome if it weren't for her bland acting.

This won't be the first time or last time that an undesireable actress was picked for a major role. Hell, even Katie Holmes, who isn't all that great, was in the popular Batman Begins.

Tazi 03-22-2014 12:30 PM

Elizabeth Olsen.

Kurai 03-22-2014 03:40 PM

Anna Kendrick would have been great in the role. Admittedly, the only film I've seen her in is 'Scott Pilgrim VS The World' (which happens to be one of my favorite films of all time), but I feel that she would have been able to pull off the role.

Anna Kendrick is annoying and nasally. But if I were the casting first or and had one choice, it would definitely be...RACHEL McADAMS!!!

Warhorse 03-22-2014 11:39 PM

Ooooh, I love Rachel McAdams now. One of my favorites, but so severely underrated.

If they were going for a younger April, I would so have picked Chloe Grace Moretz. We already know she is fit and can do action flicks.

Awesome, I've also thought Emma Stone would have been good in the role!

graphic_content 03-23-2014 10:58 PM

When I heard Megan Fox was cast, I pretty much had the same reaction that everyone else did...

...why?

And to make matters worse, Michael Bay used it as a vehicle to announce that she was back in his good graces. (as if we were all holding our breath waiting until the day that happened)

will she be great? one can hope.

was there a better choice? yes, and her name is Anna Kendrick.

LeotheLateBloomer 03-28-2014 01:39 AM

Emma Stone!

That would actually be a very compelling choice. I dig her. Especially on Red Eye.
