Trough the years a lot of loose TNM topics popped up on the Technodrome Forums. ''Where should I start watching?'' ''What do you think of this show?'' or ''Who's your favorite character?''
So this is a nice topic to put all your thoughts, questions and opinions of The Next Mutation on.

I myself really like The Next Mutation. It's not as good as any of the 3 cartoons, but still very enjoyable. It's cheesy and weird, just like it's supposed to be. Venus de Milo is awesome, but only in this show. I don't want to see her in any other incarnations.

This show is dumb, it's really dumb. But it's at least entertaining.

Yup, exactly what I was thinking. Really dumb, but I love it.

For me, it's like Batman and Robin. It's horribly made, but so much so that it's hilarious.

I cant watch it without a friend to do MST3K style quips about the show.

its great background noise ;). its one of those shows thats good as long as your doing something else well watching it. if it has 100% of your attention it gets worse. but it has some good scenes and it has some great one liners. my biggest problem with the show is it had 2 recap episodes for a show that lasted only 1 season.

I really like the guy called Bonesteel.
He is so dump and I just can`t stop watching him do stupid things. :)

at the least its ten times better than the '03 series i know that much

Don't really understand the hate. It's just cause turtle fans weren't used to change yet. It was the first real change in look and feel. Now there's so much and there's more tolerance. I think a second season would have been better as well.

Well allow me to enlighten you. This show is hated by fans because:

- It has cheap production values
- It butchers the characters by having them be completely obnoxious
- The villians were cheap Powee Rangers rejects
- It had lame slapstick
- It had lackluster voice acting

And let's not forget the big one, people hate it because of Venus De Milo was portrayed as a Mary Sue who made the turtles look completely superfluous. But honestly, that's what makes it hilarious.

I thought it was pretty cool when I first heard about it back in '97 (my 7 year old self was stoked). I thought the first episode was pretty good, but it got progressively goofier and progressively worse. The costumes themselves weren't too bad, just the lip synching was always off, but it would have been mostly forgivable if not for the random sound effects. I didn't mind Venus then, but it was a total cop out at the end of the day in a lot of ways. At the very least Dragon Lord, Queese, Bonesteel and Silver were entertaining. I did enjoy Donnie's almost douchey I'm smarter than you attitude, something I really enjoyed.

I can't stand it, in fact i can't stand a lot of stuff from the 90-ties that EXTREMEEEE! mentality just iterates me...

I've only watched about half an episode of this show before I had to shut it off. Even so, I'm pretty determined to get through the entire series at some point or another. The cheapness of the costumes, slapstick humor, weird non-brotherly relationship and the entire concept of Venus all really strike the wrong nerve with me, but even so, I'm certain it's not 100% worthless. Even if I haven't watched it, from what I've read of the villains I think there's potential for something really interesting, and obviously there was enough plot to fill an entire season and I want to see what it was. I know it's never going to be my favorite series or anything, but at the very least I want to give it a chance long enough to scrape out the few gems that are likely sprinkled throughout.

The show had potential, and I at least enjoy the show to some degree.

I like TNM for what it is, and I think it has some unique characters that I would've loved to see in other TMNT incarnations which sadly we probably won't.

Hated the show. Just too Power Rangery, which I also hated. But I did like the toys and had fun completing that set.

Dudes. We should make up a drinking game to it! I hated that show, but love watching it now. Just as many of you said, it's so bad it's almost good, but mostly just bad. Still though, it's TMNT.

Proposed game rules:

1. Slapstick sound effect - sip of beer
2. The word "Shinobi" (as if it is different from ninjas) - sip of beer
3. Raph's motorcycle close-ups - take a shot

I'm currently doing a full run through of the show for the first time and am enjoying myself.

I'm currently watching it on Netflix, with the horrible intro, and I really like this show.

How about when someone says: ''Certified Turtle-fied''?

I think the show was alright. Caught most of the episodes back when they were airing on Fox when I was around 14. I think the only certified turtlefied quote that made me cringe was when Deca from PRIS had been reprogrammed by Don. I wanted to go throw an entire soda on that computer, and I for one would never waste a Dr. Pepper! The certified turtlefied line was one of those I never got used to. I'm also currently rewatching the eps on Netflix. Are these the international versions? They changed the theme song up. They also cut out Shredder's weird,"But the raaat had a stiiick," mockery line. I don't mind that. Sounded odd back in the day. Now he just says the destroy the freaks bit, then chuckles before the sceen fades to black. Makes him a little less strange. I have to say as far as Shredder incarnations go, this guy is my least favorite. I think my favorite villain would have to be Bonesteel because I love Scott McNeil in this show as well as Beast Wars/Beast Machines. Also fun to hear Garry Chalk voicing an evil gorilla rather than a heroic maximal gorilla. The dragons made interesting baddies as well. All these goofy cartoon sound effects placed throughout the show remind me of how freely they were used in those Inspector Gadget movies. Yikes! I guess one could make a drinking game out of a tun of stuff from this series. I think my favorite line spoken would have to be Dragon Lord's,"And you know where you can put your precious staff of Bu-Ki!" Something like that anyway. Maybe it was originally staff of bucket and the creator changed the name because he was embarrassed.

Maybe we could tone it down a bit then?
