Megan Fox to be a Guest on the Ellen Show

Just found out that Megan Fox will be one of the Guests on the Ellen Show, This coming May 5th on Monday. Hopefully she will talk about the new TMNT movie.

Sewer Sirens Podcast 05-02-2014 04:48 PM

Saw that! (And even though I think it's highly unlikely), it would be super cool for them to release something exclusive/special/new on the show, since May 5th is the 30th anniversary.

Galactus 05-02-2014 04:50 PM

Has she got another project out that she's plugging?

That might alter whether she'll be full on love mode for this movie like Will Arnett was on the Today Show or just kinda "yeah it's okay I guess" like Will Arnett on Conan when the question gets brought up.

Well, In that interview from from Entertainment Weekly, She established herself as being a huge TMNT fan and such, So we will see how she promotes it on the show.

Radical Raph 05-02-2014 04:54 PM

Woohoo! Maybe we'll see a clip?

sethmartin 05-02-2014 04:55 PM

She's appearing on the Ellen show ON the 30th anniversary! I have a feeling it will be somewhat Turtles related. Hopefully she spills some new info.

Yeah they always tape early. They know the date it's going to air when they film it. It's a mighty big coincidence that she's appearing on that date.

tmntmikey23 05-02-2014 05:17 PM

just was watch ellen and saw a clip for her megan fox interview

The Fifth Turtle 05-02-2014 05:17 PM

On the 30th anniv! They HAVE to show something tmnt related.

TMNT is cooler than MOTU 05-02-2014 09:09 PM

$5 says they'll show the exact same stuff we've all seen a hundred times.

Given how poorly promoted the film's been so far, I doubt they'd show a clip or preview on Ellen, of all places.

Yeah totally impossible for a rich, attractive, actress to be a fan of something normal.

She's kinda dropped hints about her sneaky geek side for a long time now.

She even has an interview about how much she likes the turtles so yeah there is that.

Pondslider 05-02-2014 10:01 PM

If they showed a clip they'd actually have to show one where she speaks so.

METALHEAD 05-02-2014 10:04 PM

on ellen degenerate huh? cool.

If she is having a convo with one of the Turtles, say Raphael, then I'm game.

Sewer Sirens Podcast 05-02-2014 11:05 PM

IF they showed a clip (and that's a big IF), it would probably feature banter between Vernon and April, with no turtles. I highly doubt they're going to start releasing clips with the turtles in them yet.

That seems logical, If they just showed a clip of her talking to Vernon about something.

Shark_Blade 05-03-2014 12:04 AM

Megan's gonna ace it. :tcool: Like a Queen.

The screener leak of 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' was traced back to Ellen. The studio apparently gave the show an advance copy to secure clips for the show, to show during interviews with the stars - now, I'm not expecting a full on leak of the movie, still, one can dream.

I'm pretty sure she's a fan in the sense she watched a fair bit of the Fred Wolf show and the first two movies which is by no means a bad thing but surely not what a lot of people mean when when they talk about being a "fan".

Not that it would make her a better or worse actress in this role anyway or have the ability to steer the character or movie in a better direction.

pretty much this. In her interview with ign she says she really liked the original cartoon and movies as a kid and that's about it. That's great and all but doesn't inspire me with enough confidence to believe she'll own this role.

I really hate snobbish behavior like this. So, she's less of a fan because she doesn't like the TMNT like the way you do.

Puddinpop 05-03-2014 03:17 PM

Imo

April was one of those roles " to me anyways" that managed to be a plot driven character but at the same time her role wasn't crazy important substance or difficulty wise. I don't think that Fox has to be completely obsessed with Ninja Turtles to perform well. I think shell be the most involved April this time though. I have a feeling that shell nail it. She wrote on her Twitter that its the pinnacle of her career so far.. something like that. I think its a good thing that she finally has been given a role where she isn't reduced to a shallow eye candy and now she can show the internet " who has been absolutely disgusting" that she can hold her own. Being Beautiful should never be a disadvantage but in a world full of envy and Jealousy it comes with the territory.

DarkLightDragon 05-03-2014 03:31 PM

Pretty sure her being eye-candy is one (or the only) reason why she's in the movie and why she has a major role at all.

And no, I'm sorry, her being a supposed fan of TMNT means jack squat when it'll come to her performance in this movie. You can say you're a fan of something, but that doesn't mean you can still screw up at doing something with it.

*Glares over at M. Night and his handling of Last Airbender*

what makes a "fan"?? (or what do people mean when they say "fan") Do you have to watch everything about the show? read all the comics? and watch all the movies? before you're considered a "fan"?

Cause...I haven't watched all the movies, I don't like the 80's turtles...and I don't read any of the comics.

does that not make me a "fan"?? :ohwell:

or did you mean hardcore fan??

I purposefully wrote my post to avoid anyone thinking that way,.

I stress there is nothing wrong with identifying themselves as a fan and liking TMNT in that way.

However there seems to be an argument that Megan is a die hard that knows all about TMNT and thus can steer the April character in a direction we as fans will like.

It's kind of like how people vehemently argued that we should take Alan Ritcman's word that the movie is good because he claimed he was a huge fan and then it turned out he didn't really know much about it at all beyond some half remembered memories of the Fred Wolf and seemed to sneer at the idea of looking deeper into it.

And again I'll say there's nothing wrong with that.

Even if theoretically she was a really big fan that knew the franchise well I don't think she's in any position to steer the movie in the right direction. She needs the work.

I think it's interesting that someone like William Fichtner might but obviously he wasn't a fan and it's slightly disappointing that he seems to have no more knowledge of the franchise than when he started.

Even more disappointing is that while he is aware that the character he is playing is an original one he seems to have been purposefully misled into believing that this is normal for the Shredder to be a random character and it's no big deal to the fans.

Obviously the idea of TMNT sounds like complete nonsense to him so looking deeper into it wouldn't be something he'd be eager to do but I'd be curious if early on if you'd manage coax him into reading TMNT #1 and maybe 'Return to NY' give him the DVD of the original mini-series and the Steve Barron movie he might have been inclined to go "hey Michael I've been skimming through some Turtles stuff and I haven't seen a Shredder that isn't Oroku Saki...and this Saki character seems pretty important"...I dunno maybe not but it'd be nice to think that.

BabyTurtles 05-03-2014 04:47 PM

I kinda wonder...what would make a good April?

I mean...it seems like being April would be kinda easy...

He talks about the Eric Sachs character and how he becomes the Shredder specifically here.

Fjaj 05-03-2014 06:14 PM

Ah, Yeah I've seen that before. but I didn't really pick up on what he said about "becoming" shredder.

I wonder if every actor attached to a film with a rabid fanbase (ie. TMNT, GI JOE, anything MARVEL, or DC, etc.) feel this overwhelming pressure from the fans to say (even lie) that they've been fans for years themselves. I wonder if they reason, that they wont get the respect or support if they don't.

For months, Alan Ritchson's twitter was promoting his role as Raphael, and I was sincerely disappointed to hear that he spent little to no time in the source material - in fact during an interview, he talks about just speaking with the director, and establishing a base character tone, and he just took off from there.

while I can appreciate the fact that every actor wants to own their role, at least flip through a few comics, and try to get into a character's head before making decisions on his portrayal.

Sometimes actors don't research there roles and they just do there own take on it.

Sometimes it works, Sometimes it doesn't.

its just a matter of opinion but li feel like this is the wrong way to go when dealing with pre existing characters. Your job is to bring to life a character millions of people have formed and emotional attachment to and to do that to best effect it wouldn't hurt to know their history. There's nothing wrong with wanting to add something of your own to it but you need to have the foundation to build on.
