Glad this got a new thread, Didn't want to reply in the other thread

You can't really base a script on how long into a movie.

Movie scripts are over 100 pages, which have to include discription of scenes and dialogue so you you have to cram a lot into a script and they are written spaced out so page 24 could be 15/20 minutes into the film. 30 minutes into the film (i'm just guessing) probably be page 40

Sewer Sirens Podcast 05-07-2014 03:38 PM

On average, one page of a script is one minute. That's at least what I learned in theatre, not sure if it applies to film.

MajorViolence 05-07-2014 03:44 PM

It's an industry standard. It's not a hard rule, but generally speaking scripts are expected to adhere to it within reason.

ninja-zero 05-07-2014 03:45 PM

Is there a script where April is introduced to the turtles?

Like how the autobots introduced themselves to Sam?

My guess:
April regains conscious as she finds out she's in the turtles lair. At first when they saw her awoke, she was scared of them until Splinter comes and offers her some tea.

Later on, he explains their origin to her; where they came from. She realizes that Splinter & the turtles were the same animals in the lab. Then Splinter introduces the turtles to April:

Splinter: My eldest son... Leonardo of the katana.
Leo: It's an honor to meet you. Call me Leo.
Splinter: His youngest brother, the smart one... Donatello of the bo staff.
Donnie: Who would've thought the first human would be so... I mean... call me Donnie.
Splinter: The arrogant yet strong of the bunch... Raphael of the sai.
Raph: 'Sup! You don't look so bad.
Mikey: Heeeyyyy!!!
Splinter: (giggling) You already met the last of the young brothers, Michelangelo.
Leo, Raph & Donnie: Call him Mikey!
Mikey: Sorry 'bout the scare earlier. Guess that first impression didn't go well.

April: So.... am I a prisoner here?
Leo: Not at all. Guess to us, you're the first human to ever understand our existence. Nobody does anyway.
Mikey: You're welcome here anytime, girlfriend!
Raph: Ignore Mikey, your life will be a lot easier.

"Script transcript" is redundant.

Nice of them to throw in some jokes for viewers with a single-digit IQ.

sethmartin 05-07-2014 04:02 PM

So Splinter DOES start out as a lab rat in this! IDW anyone....

Vicky82 05-07-2014 04:07 PM

Hmm I didn't notice that about Splinter.

I'm getting that IDW story vibe, which I guessed weeks ago that the movie could be mix of Mirage,OT and IDW versions .

NinjaPug 05-07-2014 04:07 PM

Wait, what exactly is this?

HAHA yup the concept art even looks like IDW splinter so that pretty cool

sethmartin 05-07-2014 04:11 PM

Also in the IDW storyline, Splinter remembers his former life but the Turtles do not. One of the lines - "I think... That we must be doing this for a reason. I just dont know what that reason is..." is another possible clue that it's IDW based.

Cancer...

So page 24 could mean on average 24 mins into the film, doesn't sound too bad for a possible 2 hour film. I expect the first 24 mins will consist of a flashback, Megan Fox, Subway fight then we see the turtles.

That isn't that bad if you ask me.

SwiftNinjaFox 05-07-2014 04:57 PM

2 hours seemed long to me at first, longer than any previous turtle film, but then I realized that's become standard for just about any film lately.

Still 1/4th of the film without the turtles? Depends entirely on how they pull it off. Could work, though.

Agree if that is the case which i dont think it will be but who knows But like i said in the other thread if we get sneaky sneaky turtle kick but from the shadows as well as fluffy plot build up, then 20-30 min doesn't seem bad to me. And there is obviously there is action leading up to that point and im betting there is even more than just the subway scene. Plus people saying the huge hulk turtle who are invulnerable obviously not.

i thought at first that 25, possibly 30 mins into the film was bad, especially when compared to the original, where they made an appearance less than 10 minutes in...but if this is a retelling of their origins, then set-up is required. Everyone keeps comparing this film to the first Amazing Spiderman, and yes, we saw Peter Parker, but he didnt start out with his abilities, the story had to build. So I'm prepared to put my stop watch down so long as their backstory gets treated well.

Looks like we'll finally have the turtles take off their weapons/armor when their in their layer like in the comics.

What am I looking at here, bits from the rejected script or something that was leaked from a new script of the new movie?

It's the new script. That dialogue wasn't anywhere in the "Blue Door" script.

Also, "Doodie"? Seriously? :trolleye:

Fjaj 05-07-2014 05:28 PM

Someone did an early review of the ultimate visual history, which had a bit from the script, or at least an early draft. You can see more about it in "Official" thread, so this one is a bit redundant.

TigerClaw 05-07-2014 05:29 PM

I just watched the video review of that book, and it showed some images from the movie. There's an image with a truck and I think the Turtles are right on it.

i read that sequence from the original script and it looked like the best part of the it - I honestly dont mind at all that they kept it in there.

I personally wonder what is meant by WHITE DRAFT?

Do colors indicate the state of rewrite it is in? can anyone shed light, SETHMARTIN? anyone who works in the industry?

TigerClaw 05-07-2014 05:35 PM

Here's the pic, I managed to screen capture it.
