Raphael vs karai

Ralph doesn't trust karai so what if he challenges her to a fight

Raphael

Vs

Karai

Who would win?

Whatswiththeheadbands? 06-09-2014 06:40 PM

I hate it when people call Raph 'Ralph'

RaphAndDonnie 06-09-2014 07:07 PM

Karai. I think she would try to expolit his anger issues, making it easier for her to win.

Donatello19 06-09-2014 08:13 PM

Karai is very sarcastic while being cool, confident and collected. Raphael is the complete opposite. I think Karai could take him take down by taking advantage of his anger issues.

Stugehen 06-09-2014 08:28 PM

I love Raphael! I really do. My favorite turtle....but in the Nick series...I gotta go with Karai. She just seems better disciplined.

MCLeo28 06-09-2014 08:33 PM

Raphael honestly. Karai to me has been lagging behind up until the Wrath of Tiger Claw. Raphael faired a lot better against the Chromedome as he was dodging hits while Karai was easily getting pushed back.

However, in Season 1, Karai was slightly superior as shown in Alien Agenda.

I agree I think karai was superior in season 1 but I'm sure in season 2 raph can take her just as long as he controls his anger

ssjup81 06-09-2014 11:03 PM

I'm 100% certain that Karai could defeat the imaginary 5th Turtle, Ralph with no problems at all. I hear he's from Brooklyn. :P

Okay, joking aside, my vote goes towards Karai. She's in better control of her emotions and always remain calm, cool, and collected (the prior episode being one of the exceptions given how distressed she was). Raph still has anger issues. As soon as he masters keeping them entirely under control and in check, not just partially or sometimes, then he'd have a chance against her....but as he is now, Karai would be the victor in this matchup, imo.

Rooish 06-09-2014 11:08 PM

I'm surprised everyone is voting Karai! I don't know myself. But I want to see that fight.

Well, Karai knows how to pluck nerves. She did that with Leo after they first met. She knew what was bugging him, and used it against him. She'd struck a nerve.

I'm sure she could get under Raph's skin without any trouble at all because he's not fully in control of his emotions. That's his biggest weakness. He really doesn't like Karai and doesn't trust her. I could see Karai pointing out something or doing something to get on Raph's nerves so much, that he loses his focus while fighting and only try to fight aggressively as opposed to smartly and Karai ends up winning.

I think this is why people are truly seeing Karai as the winner in this set up.

pennydreadful 06-10-2014 12:09 AM

Agreed; Raph has a grudge against Karai. I can easily see her taunting him into losing his temper, and based on that, he wouldn't have the focus to defeat her. I love my boy, but I can't see him keeping his head together enough to kick her butt.

ssjup81 06-10-2014 12:21 AM

Well, I can think of a scenario where Raph could win the fight. Karai hurts Mikey so badly, that Raph goes into a blind rage and try to kill her...but that's more of a Mirage thing.... Yeah he does fight even more if Mikey's life is at stake, but not to a "blind rage" mode like in Mirage.

pennydreadful 06-10-2014 12:33 AM

He did do a pretty good job of whupping NickCasey's butt when he went into beserker mode - there is a chance that if he did fully rage-out he could just defeat Karai through brute force rather than by using any type of finesse. Karai's still pretty light on her feet though; he'd have to rely on stunning her otherwise she'd just turn his own strength against him.

Good point. If we're going to get into specifics....we should consider the area they're fighting in. I may swing on over the Raph side if they were fighting in close quarters. If Karai has room to run around though...she'd still take the cake.

Leofan26 06-10-2014 01:09 AM

Both are good fighters, smart when it comes down to it. However, like some said, Raph has anger issues and Karai already makes his blood boil. In a training session I could so see her using that as an advantage

^ Pretty much this.

IndigoErth 06-10-2014 03:18 PM

Sorry Raph, you're tough, but given her ability to spar pretty evenly with Leo who trains like heck... I gotta say she wins by skill.

Beyond that, if she ends up moving in with them, even just for a short time, I can't wait for the bickering between those two. lol

Hells yes, it'd be hilarious. I want to see Raph arguing about Karai hogging the bathroom so much. Keeping up that two-tone hair of hers has gotta require some maintenance.

LOL That and her eye makeup surely requires reapplications a time or two.

Mark my words, the line "You always take her side, Leo!" will be in there somewhere...:P

Davin 06-10-2014 08:15 PM

I voted for Raph, mainly due to fav turtle bias. There's something to be said for skill and fight IQ, but heart can go a long way in a fight as well.

I do have to admit though, Nick Raph is most likely to take the fall against Karai rather than other incarnations of the characters.

It seems like his personality in the show, flaws especially, is dialed up to 11 compared to other universes.

Raph can spar pretty evenly with Leo too

MCLeo28 06-10-2014 10:05 PM

Nick Raphael lacks skill?

Doesn't the fight between Slash and Newtralizer teach you anything? Especially against Slash, outsmarting him a couple of times despite knowing all of his moves is a hefty feat IMO.

^ Exactly and tbh, Raphael seems to be a bit stronger atm if anything judging by feats. Raphael performed better against Newtralizer than Leo did as well as the fact that he did better against Tiger Claw than Leo did. Raphael actually managed a few clashes with Tiger Claw before being pushed back while Leo was pushed back after only giving one strike (noting the last strike in particular).

Someone needs to do a fancomic or something about this. It needs to be a thing.

I don't think it's that he lacks skill so much as sometimes his anger can work against him. Not all the time (like when he was whupping Casey's butt), but sometimes. I think his grudge would potentially hurt rather than hinder him in this case.

That being said, I think if Karai ever hurt one of his brothers, Raph would trounce her.

IndigoErth 06-10-2014 11:11 PM

Ok, well I'll give him this.. he could prob throw his weight around, tackle her, sit on her, and then that skinny girl ain't gettin' up for nothing. Better?:P

Darth Knuckles 06-13-2014 09:09 PM

Well first I am biased, but still I think Raph could win this fight. Karai still feels a tad younger than in other universes so she doesn't have any advantage there as she may have in other versions. Raph is shown to be at least as equal a fighter to Leo. Raph has fared better against tough enemies like Slash, The Newtralizer, and Tiger Claw so I have no reason to think he wouldn't fight Karai just as well as all of them. So I easily chose Raph. :tcool:

BubblyShell22 06-14-2014 09:08 AM

I chose Karai because even though Raph is a skilled fighter, Karai has a way of getting under someone's skin and ferreting out their weaknesses, which is what she would do with Raph and his anger.

Warhorse 06-15-2014 12:46 AM

I choose Raph. When he's really pissed off, he seems to come out on top. And Karai herself has had words used against her to catch her off guard, April did that to her and beat her, and she's barely trained in anything at that time.

I think in sparring, Raph does hold back, as all the Turtles do, so they don't truly hurt eachother, but when it comes to a true life or death fight, I give it to Raph.

Shark_Blade 06-15-2014 12:53 AM

Raph is the weakest mentally among the brothers, so of course Karai will win hands down.

Hm, but at that time, April mentioned her mother. Karai's softspot is growing up without one. April just got lucky with that out of nowhere statement. At this point, though, I can't think of anything Raph could say to catch Karai offguard since the truth of her mother is known to her now, but I could see Karai getting under Raph's skin and throwing him off.

I do see your take plausible though, so don't think I'm picking on you or that your opinion is wrong or anything. ^^

But Raph has already been shown to put the words aside and focus. He did that in Turtle Temper, and he's also shown to be quite smart and learning from past mistakes, like in Slash and Destroy and Mazes and Mutants. I just see, if Raph and Karai got into a fight, Raph would come out on top, and probably nearly kill her, and it would take Leo or Splinter to be the one to snap him out of his rage.

Like Mikey would say, takes that special moment for Raph to come undone and "the beast has been unleashed" ;D

Teddy 06-15-2014 02:56 AM

I think it'd be a pretty close fight actually, but Raph would ultimately prevail. He's taken on several villains that I would consider stronger than Karai (Slash, Tiger Claw, etc) and done very well on those fights. And he can also beat Leo when he wants to. ;)

Garfield 06-15-2014 03:48 AM

At first I wanted to say Karai, but I'm not so sure. We're so quick to point out Raph's flaws, hardly anyone one is really pointing out Karai's flaws. She tends to be rash in her judgment. She also underestimates her opponents and tends to "poke" the bear a little too much. Raph is growing and on occasion has shown to be able to get himself to a state of having a level mind. But hey, don't underestimate an angry Raph, theres a lot of bite behind the bark.

Karai seems to be a more skilled fighter. She is a lot more deceptive and is shown to be an opportunist. But her muddled life limits her emotionally, so much so that it is a server handicap.

Raph is strong physically (being a mutant turtle gives him an edge.) and emotionally. Passion might be his greatest strength but his uncontrolled anger is his greatest weakness.

I think they both lack foresight.

I really can't choose between the two; I think it might depend more on the situation than anything else.

Raph and Karai are such extreme characters. Both being very similar in ways and very different in other opposing ways. I would like to see an episode where there interaction was a major focus.

MCLeo28 06-15-2014 11:35 AM

^ This.

Karai tends to irritate her opponents and using it against Raphael would only enrage him. Like Slash has said, "Our anger makes us stronger," and living with him ever since the start of Season 1 indicates that Raphael's anger based on Slash's credibility suggests that Raphael's anger is a powerful quality and that he should give in to his anger if he wants to prove to Slash that he can continue fighting. Punching Leonardo was the push Slash thought Raphael needed to trigger his anger, but of course Raphael kept it under control.

So he can control his anger and use it well against his opponents.

Yep. Look in 'The Good, the Bad and Casey Jones', Raph was taking the hits from Casey, until he finally got really pissed off, and just grabbed Casey and body slammed him onto the car, and then, he nearly impaled Casey in the eye until he caught himself. An angry Raph is one thing, berserker Raph is a whole new beast to contend with.

I think Leo holds back with Karai. I was watching one of the episodes where Karai is going after April, Target April O Neil I think it was, Donny had no problems taking out Karai, and many of her goons. I do believe that Splinter is the far superior instructor over Shredder, and his boys will be more skilled than Karai, if they don't hold back.

snake 08-29-2014 09:05 PM

Karai would win.

i dont think anger itself is the flaw for raph

but he lets the anger take over him, so he doesnt think completely straight. the madder he gets, the less focused he is. sure he may punch harder, but against karai, who seems to have something prepped and planned for any more, she would take him down the second he lost control. and given her ability to insult and mock, i dont think it would take long for her to piss off raph
