Favorite Design Of TMNT

Just wondered what you guys favorite design was

Jester 06-11-2014 03:53 AM

I assume you mean of all the franchise's different incarnations.

I'd say either the new Nick stuff or oddly enough Next Mutation. It was probably the first time they made a major change to the designs...and i kinda dug them.

I agree!, but i think my favorite design are the Nick Turtles

is it possible since you're a Moderator to add TMNT 2007, TMNT Next mutation, TMNT 1990 , TMNT 2014 to the poll?

Sadly, no. Not my subsection.

Shark_Blade 06-11-2014 04:04 AM

Nick all the way. The physical difference is genius.

Thanks though.

I voted 2k3. Would have even with Movies, NM and '07 as options. They just look the coolest to me. Slick and tough.

Love OT, who doesn't, but they are on the cute side. Live Action movies are cool but they always came off kinda plump or chunky to me, given its people in suits. NM was decent. Suits seemed a little better...scale not build-quality. '07 was cool but too skinny. Nick is a bit too stylized for my taste but they're fine.

Never liked the Mirage designs. What?!...ya I know, they just look too droopy or sluggish to me.

Edit - Just looked at some IDW pics, hadn't much before, and they're cool but still pick 2k3.

Powder 06-11-2014 05:58 AM

Far too many missing for me, namely my two favorites. Image, & Henson.

pennydreadful 06-11-2014 06:12 AM

Based on the options in the poll, I chose 2k3.

Judgment without solution, is just as bad as the problem itself.

Powder 06-11-2014 07:48 AM

& by that you mean what exactly?

CharmedSerenity 06-11-2014 08:47 AM

I voted for 2k3 though (all) the movie designs weren't/aren't bad. I also think the NM looks weren't too bad but I may have re-watch the show to judge properly.

Lou 500 06-11-2014 08:52 AM

Nick turtles. I like that they actually have physical differences between them and don't just look like quadruplets with their masks and weapons being their only distinguishable features.

Candy Kappa 06-11-2014 11:30 AM

I really enjoy the Out of the Shadows designs of the turtles.

MrTMNT2012 06-11-2014 12:28 PM

2014 Movie Version. Even though they haven't looked as good in the trailers, the initial design is my favourite by far! :)

Xiewin 06-11-2014 12:33 PM

The Nick and the 2k14 turtles.

zodiac brave 06-11-2014 12:35 PM

i'd have to go with henson, but specifically the first movie designs. maybe its the lighting or even film stock used in SOTO, but theres the slightest difference between the two movies that i notice and the '90 movie wins out.

also, and this might have to do more with art style than actual design, but i love ross campbell's work and the way he draws them.

IndigoErth 06-11-2014 12:42 PM

As much as I was addicted to the series back in the 80s, and it's still a cute retro design, these days I'm gonna side with Nick.

More individual in design, I'm a fan of 3D animation which I have my own hands in a bit and Nick has done it quite well with this... and then factor in the to die for facial expressions.. yeah, they win.

Shiro Kame 06-11-2014 01:15 PM

2003 turtles tops.

BlisterStockboy 06-11-2014 02:10 PM

I've never liked the design of the 2K3 turtles because they're so muscular and they all sound like adults, and not really teenagers. Nothing about them looked or felt like teenagers to me.

Their biceps are huge.

Whatswiththeheadbands? 06-11-2014 02:14 PM

A tie between 2003 and original Mirage Turtles for me.

RaphAndDonnie 06-11-2014 02:30 PM

Honestly it's a tie between IDW and Nick for me but if I had to pick...I'd go with Nick.

Prowler 06-11-2014 02:40 PM

A tie between Fred Wolf's and 4Kids' turtles. I like the 1990 movie ones a lot as well.

Slade 06-11-2014 04:41 PM

Going with Mirage on this one.

Netkeeper 06-11-2014 04:57 PM

2003 with Mirage close behind.

Funny, a few years ago I wouldn't have mentioned Mirage at all. The art style took a while to grow on me.

slingtheory 06-11-2014 06:25 PM

my favorite as of now are the out of the shadows designs but I voted for nick in the poll because its technically those turtles made more realistic. I like when there's physical differences between the brothers and this is the best I've ever seen it done. quick question though. wouldn't it be hard to vote for idw since the look of the turtles changes with the artist? I don't think theres any two guys on the book who draw them the same. idw shredder is my favorite look for that character though

Cipher 06-11-2014 08:18 PM

What is the Mirage design?

Are we just talking about their gear? Otherwise the actual art styles vary wildly. And in IDW, not even that's consistent.

'92-'95 Lawson though.

That's why I picked Mirage. Lawson, Farley, Laird.

Not compared to the NM designs... which I thought were enormous until I saw the 2014 designs! Now the NM designs don't look so big to me.

Leolead 06-11-2014 09:16 PM

Guys sorry i forgot some versions.

MsMarvelDuckie 06-11-2014 09:46 PM

Well, it's actually a toss-up between the movies (original 90 one, at least) and the 4Kids design, but since the movies weren't on the list, I went with 4Kids. They are my two fave versions so far, except for Santolouco's art style in IDW, which I LOVE!

It's all good - we still got a pretty good range to choose from. :)

BabyTurtles 06-11-2014 10:18 PM

I pick the cutest and Nick turtles are cute XD

Ross Campbell is also my favorite!

Stugehen 06-11-2014 10:25 PM

I went with Mirage, specifically the issue #1 style. Beaks, long necks, massive toes. Though there are far more coveted TMNT figures, the Neca line will always be my favorite for this reason.

While I'm not fond of the long necks, the beaks and toes are really cool and I too really love the Neca figure line.

[But I still prefer the 2k3 art style because mmmm dem muscles let me rub on em I MEAN WHAT I DIDN'T SAY THAT]

'92-'95 Lawson though.

I normally go with the early 7 issue run of the Mirage for design. While IDW I go with Dan Duncan's 12 issue run. Normally what I think when identifying those two. Of course like you say thery vary greatly but those are just my personal favoites.

Zulithe 06-12-2014 05:43 AM

Nick is my favorite. Especially with Ciro draws them :)

Can't believe you left off so many different designs from your poll though... fail :)

Leolead 06-12-2014 06:07 AM

I Think my favorite is the Mirage Turtles but i really like the 2003 version as well.

Raptor86 06-12-2014 06:52 AM

IDW! Particularly the Ross Campbell turtles!
