Summer of Turtles
...honestly if we step back, and take off our super fan goggles...the Turtles (both Paramount live-action, and Nick toon) are slowly creeping everywhere...(like a ninja? :D)
- promotional tie-in with PIZZA HUT - promotional tie-in with CRUSH SODA - promotional tie-in with the X-GAMES - PLAYMATES action figure line - LEGO play-sets - slow but steady viral marketing, on Facebook (both national, and international) via teaser images - 2 officially released trailers, and 1 officially released TV spots (in addition to the Trailer 3 released selectively in theaters, and a behind the scenes TV spot in circulation on Nick) - 9 official posters, and an additional 1 commissioned for the X-Games - Will Arnett was on the TODAY SHOW - Megan Fox was on ELLEN - footage was screened at TWO Cinecons (Las Vegas, and somewhere in Europe) ...Im sure there are more, but I cannot remember, and now this... MALL OF AMERICA presents... http://i.imgur.com/K5MApk0.jpg?1 source Quote:

i think its NO COINCIDENCE, that this kicks off a day AFTER the formal US release of Transformers 4...
...hearing this, definitely lends credibility to the fact that they will RAMP UP promo for TMNT significantly after TF4 is in theatres. |

I feel for my parent's generation... Slightly. Too old go "get it" and only had to put up with the craze years ago - and now it's their adult children AND grandchildren picking up on a renewed passion for it. lol
|
It's great to see turtles everywhere, even if the movie designs aren't great, I'm glad some people are enjoying them. At first I read the poster as "Summer Of Tortles"
|
Well when you put it like that.....
|
i have a confession i am both excited and annoyed for the pizza hut promotion
excited to see pizza hut try something in a long time annoyed cause my local pizza employs an awful Ex of mine so i might be missing out on it |
Ahem
There are also some high quality figures coming down the line. But you didn't hear that from me..

Just realized this is a whole Nickelodeon area in Mall of America. Why must it be so far away!
(Really... legit or not, not sure hostility is needed over one comment...) |

Your design for Michelangelo is truly beautiful. Love the pants and sneakers as well as his overall color scheme. I would love to have a high quality figure based on it, as well as the others. Any hint as to whether we can expect them in 2014? |

Though he's a very unsuspecting user, that's the guy who designed the turtles, allegedly.

It's about time the promotion got kick started with about a month and a half away, because it's going to be a pop cultural test if TMNT has adult demographic appeal after it's presence in the early 1990s, and the nearly forgotten 2007 movie by the mainstream.
I'm not surprised there is so much promotion since the Nickelodeon company itself has to do a lot of the heavy lifting in giving attention to the franchise (the 2014 movie and the Nick show), unlike how it was during Turtlemania when it was the OT's momentum that provided a lot of attention and incentive for the 1990 movie. Considering this all we know for the promotions at this time before the release, it appears Nickelodeon has grasped the important magnitude of this movie for the franchise itself. |

Jeezum guys, calm down with the hostility - he IS legit. There's no need for name calling.

I'm skeptical but if you insist... I hope some utroms roam this universe.... I read online last night that they had originally had the dr that helps Donatello with the cubes in secret of the ooze was supposed to be a utrom body

http://s21.postimg.org/at73uq0cn/avatar.jpg They could very easily be as scaled-up as some are assuming. (Of course, I don't know much to we have to base the "eye lines" stuff on beyond some on-set paparazzi photos, so I might be off-base here.) |
