expect a post credit scene?

Probably but I don't really expected the movie to have one. And I don't expect Nickelodeon is interested in creating their own TMNT movie extended universe and I read IDW want to distance themselves from the upcoming TmnT movie.

xChri5x 07-04-2014 06:38 PM

Thank you for putting a question mark in the title.

RedRocBoy 07-04-2014 08:53 PM

I've thought about this a lot. It would be cool to some sort of reference to the Utroms or something. Maybe we see some of the other Foot members that could be lIke ninjas. Maybe still rocking the tactical gear but sworded up. Just a few things that we're going through my head. :tcool::tcool::tcool::tgrin::tgrin::tgrin::tgrin:

RAPHAEL#1fan 07-04-2014 08:54 PM

Couple things, where did you read IDW wants to distance themselves from the film and if so does this mean they think the movie will tank.

Jester 07-04-2014 08:57 PM

Nick/Viacom has always tried to make each of their Turtle series distinct. Nick and IDW are their own things, and I'm sure they intend the same for the movie.

Powder 07-04-2014 09:06 PM

Bobby himself said they wanted nothing to do with it right here on the forums.

TheSkeletonMan939 07-04-2014 09:07 PM

I hope not. So many films do this already; it works for the MCU films, but not in the X-Men of ASM movies.

Worked damn well in Days of Future Past to tease the next movie. Worked fantabulously in The Wolverine. The audience in the theater I was in practically cheered as soon as they saw Magneto and Xavier on screen again. Full applause afterwards.

For TMNT, I wouldn't expect one, but I wouldn't be surprised by one either. If there was one, I'd bet on it being something of Shredder's plan to even the odds and foreshadow Bebop and Rocksteady.

With six foot tall turtles, what will they be? 10 and 13 feet tall?

Okay, fine. Post-credits scenes that advance the story along a little while teasing the next film are perfect (Winter Soldier, Dark World). The Wolverine had this kind of good post-credits scene.

It doesn't work in DofP because it tells you nothing at all. Who's that kid? Are those the pyramids? What's going on? Is he a mutant? What are they chanting? It's over already?

SwiftNinjaFox 07-04-2014 09:23 PM

Guess that's true. If you're not a fan, you're fairly lost on all that's going on and what it means.

You could argue the same with Winter Soldier and Dark World, though. Hell, people still have no clue what's going on with the overarching story for Marvel and how those post credits are building towards the Infinity Gauntlet. It starts to make sense as you see more and remember the hints and threads as they come together.

xChri5x 07-04-2014 09:32 PM

Triceraton tease. amirite?

BlueKatana 07-04-2014 10:42 PM

I'm hoping for Krang or even Dimension X. The crazier the better.

Darth Knuckles 07-04-2014 11:05 PM

Yeah I hope there is one too. I've thought of Leatherhead, Slash, Utroms, or Triceratons in my head these last few months when thinking of a possible after credits scene.

Calling it... Credits roll, fans comment "Wow, no pizza at all? lol," credits end... short epilogue scene back at the lair...with pizza.

They will be the size of skyscrapers and the ground will tremble when they walk. :P j/k

That would be a nice touch. I'm not expecting an after-credits scene, so I won't be devastated if it doesn't have one - I'd be more concerned with what they actually put in it rather than whether there is one at all. At this stage, I'd rather see a "character moment" where they're chilling at the lair or joking or something, rather than alluding to a potential sequel.

UGHShellshocked 07-05-2014 07:01 AM

I want there to be a sudden earthquake then all of a sudden a giant robotic eye breaks through the city streets.

or

Like the Schwarma scene from The Avengers, the Turtles with Splinter, April and Vernon tiredly eat pizza in a pizza parlor.

Oh, I hate that. You wait past the credits for a cool post-credits scene and it's some five second, slapped together, non-funny bit trying to make the heroes look silly. Big whoop. One of the many reasons I hated Iron Man 3.

Whatswiththeheadbands? 07-05-2014 07:45 AM

I hope not. That's marvel's shtick, and it would just be copying

He did? I was actually wondering about the usual movie tie in comics and was beginning to think they may have passed but given how liberal the IDW guys are with using the different versions of TMNT that's kinda suprising they'd openly say that.

To be honest I have hated the entire Marvel movie franchise but what can you do really.

Hey, I'm a bit of a casual with the marvel films, and when I saw the post credit scenes for TWS, I actually got online and did my own little research, and now, I fully understood the scope of the scene, and I am heavily anticipating Avengers 2.

I literally just saw The Winter Soldier yesterday; it was amazing. and the end credits scene. wow. I dont really get the context, because I dont understand the full storyline being employed, but the way they introduced 'those' characters was super exciting, and definitely got me hyped for Avengers 2.

I have to agree with others here tho, because I didnt feel the same when I saw the end credits scene for X-Men: DOFP. Unless you knew the characters themselves, it was just a kid, being worshiped.

I thought it was a perfect addition for Iron Man 3, but that sort of thing works for Tony.

The Avengers one wouldn't have been okay with me if it wasn't for the fact that it had the mid-credits AND the post-credits scenes.

Marvel isn't the first to put end credit scenes. Unless you're talking about tying movies together? Still, probably not first too though.

Lou 500 07-06-2014 04:04 PM

Raphael and April having a sunset smooch on a rooftop.

Zulithe 07-06-2014 04:14 PM

If their goal is to make sequels I think a great way to build interest is to have a post-credits scene... it's almost expected in these geek blockbuster tentpole films now.

I do think there is a chance, I'm not sure if how many TF films had them but I know at least one of them did (sort of? Starscream escaping during a mid-credits sequence, it was super brief though)

I'll definitely be sticking through the entire credits in hopes of one.

teasing Bebop and Rocksteady or Dimension X for the next installment would be legit.

Candy Kappa 07-06-2014 05:34 PM

It's the new thing, so I'd be surprised if there wasn't a post credit scene. Hopefully it'll be a mid credit scene like in Green Lantern instead of at the very end.

TigerClaw 07-06-2014 05:38 PM

It would be cool if there's an end credit scene, But I kind of doubt it because, Its a Paramount movie, Even the Transformers movies don't have end credit scenes.

arkangel 07-07-2014 11:58 PM

..... credits roll. 1/2 the theatre empties and the die hard geeks remain in their seats.

cut to downtown NYC...
Raph is walking down a rainy street when he comes across a broken goalie mask near a rain-gutter and mutters to himself, "what kind of freak would walk around in this?"

Ok, I've had my geek fanboy moment.. :D

pennydreadful 07-08-2014 03:27 AM

Man, if the die-hards wait in their seats til the end of the credits and it turns out there is no post-credit scene... people are gonna be piiiiissed!

madyankees 07-08-2014 06:52 AM

Hope there will be one....where the real shredder/oroku saki appears. Yes, I do think Eric Sachs is just a puppet in this one

There are multiple websites dedicated to after-credits stuff.

It's their own fault if they stick around.

Yeah, or even just Wikipedia. Just scroll to the bottom of the synopsis and look for the word "post-credits".

chrisdude 07-08-2014 02:34 PM

I stay till the end of all the credits, now, anyway. Even if I heard there was nothing, I'd still have to see for myself. No harm done if there's nothing.

EDIT____________
Even in Marvel movies, the large majority of people don't stick around. Even opening night.

I dunno, I kind of thought that people wanting to stay spoiler-free might not want to check online? Eh, I could be wrong. I go to the cinema so rarely that I'm probably not a good gauge of what the standard moviegoer does. *shrugs*

ehhh.. "monkey see, monkey do" at my local theaters.. id say at least 75% stick around after Marvel movie credits if they see others doing it.. sometimes you see people stand in the hallways or even walk back to their seats because they see others doing it
