What would you want in a sequel?

So, after seeing the movie what do you want to see in a sequel?

This universe being a live action "modern" version of the OT is interesting and some of the choices in this movie whether you liked it or not give plenty of possibilities for fun sequels. For me this universe can get really wacky and have some of the more out there ideas for the turtles without problems, something a realistic gritty version of the turtles wouldn't have been able to make. that is at least a good thing about this take on them.

The Technodrome/Krang - I can totally see a technodrome or krang introduced in this movie series, maybe for a third movie, the technodrome is really out there but it can fight.

Mutants - I can see the movie having other mutants easily since it wouldn't be that out there in these movies.

Things I don't think will work very well:

Casey Jones? I'm sure he'll appear in one form or another but counting the turtles are like hulk in the movie I don't know if he would fit very well, maybe for some more "street" level stuff instead of having Vernon in that final battle..

A few rogues like the Rat King unless heavily modified.

please if you won't add anything to the thread don't post here with flame bait.

I would love to see a Rivalry Between Sachs and Karai Turning Sach into more of and "elite Foot Commander" and them working together and Fighting the turtle with more Foot. Seeing shredder return And hearing more about splinter and seeing him fight. It would be good to See Casey, Delve more into the Alien Aspects of the Ooze And Krang done some way or another, Bebop and rocksteady would be so good

Purse Grabbin Puke 08-08-2014 12:22 AM

I think Casey works, the world they set up with the Foot being a long running terrorist group in NYC, and then the rumors that could start about the vigilante's, they could inspire Casey Jones.

They already said Beebop and Rocksteady, I'm 100% on board with this.

Baxter Stockman has to be in the next one.

Would love to see if they could bring Krang into this. The next one needs to be longer though. It was way too short.

SwiftNinjaFox 08-08-2014 12:24 AM

Well, if there were a sequel...

Ninjas.

Lots...of...ninjas. Not machine guns.

I want the the big huge dozens of ninja vs the turtles in a big wild choreographed martial arts brawl. Sort of like 2007 CG film had at the end....only with the actual fight playing out. Not bypassing the Foot to get inside.

I get the feeling that the terrorist Foot clan pisses Shredder off in the film. I'm hoping he is building the ninja clan again.

I'd be okay with seeing Bebop and Rocksteady.

Baxter is in the credits, so apparently he's one of the scientists with Sacks in one of the scenes.

I I think you have something he says that Karai's soldiers are week right? So i think that leaves it open for him to wreck it by building a stronger Larger ninja group though they are there through out the movie you just have to keep an eye out for them

That's what I was thinking from that scene, yeah. He says it's no surprise her men are being beaten by the vigilantes since he beat one with his arms bound behind his back. So having him survive and rebuilding the "true Foot Clan" personally would be a plot I could support.

I think they should have leaned a little more on IDW's "criminal empire" Shredder utilizing both traditional hitmen and gangsters as well as his own ninja. But they didn't, so I can only hope maybe that'll happen if a sequel gets made.

Truthfully I'd rather see a sort of reboot-sequel a la Incredible Hulk from Hulk, but that's my personal opinion.

I personally do not want this there are to many great thing to just start over from scratch, I love the actors and and turtle I like the plot they have develop. i just want to see them Work more on what they have to keep getting better and better

Incredible Hulk didn't really start from scratch either, though. It just tweaked where it felt it was needed.

Assume the movie doesn't do so well and it takes us a little while longer to get another movie. Rather than doing ANOTHER origin story, just move forward with the not-quite-but-sort of-reboot sequel.

Primarily all I'd really like to see is them reduce their hulking size a bit. They still just seemed jarringly large to me (like loud thuds when they are trying to sneak and drop down). I'd drop the bullet proof thing too. Get back to "Yes, we can bleed." And get their plastron back to being plastron and add the bridge on the sides again.

But hey, I wound up being okay with their faces and all, so gimme a little credit for accepting them some. ;)

I want Dimension X/The Technodrome more than anything. And they seriously might do it. The mutagen is alluded to as being from another planet, and there are utroms in the mural. It really may happen, and that's thrilling.

I've thought about Casey, and I think he could work in this world, and alongside these turtles, if he's decked out in dangerous gear like the Nick Casey. Makeshift armor, gadgets, explosives. I dig that wannabe Batman angle.

And, of course, mousers.

No. No sequel.
Reboot.

Was it completely different from the trailers? Were they short, stealthy assassins moving in the shadows? Did they remove the fart jokes? Did they potentially reshoot with a new director and cast? (Still have nothing against Bay, Fox, or the dude playing the real Shredder, it's just everyone else).

I did watch the snow sequence online, as well as the rooftop/elevator clip. I thought, "maybe it's not as bad as you think".
If those are the stand out moments, and I didn't enjoy them, should I actually go to the movies?
I honestly cringed at the cowabunga line in the rooftop scene. The cheese pizza bit is awful.
Thanks, but I'll sit this one out.

Practical sequel: Introduction of Casey Jones. Ultrom invasion. Bebop & Rocksteady mutation. Shredder 2.0.

Impractical sequel: Hamato Yoshi is alive in Japan leading original Foot Clan. Recognizes fighting style in news reporting of event. Investigates, uncovers Splinter and TMNT. Teaches them legit ninjutsu. Then outta nowhere... BAM! Rat king. Nuff said.

Lou 500 08-08-2014 02:45 AM

Someone posted a while ago that they like the idea of a fallen Sachs becoming the Rat King and I dig it too; it would add a creepy, darker aspect to the story. Just imagine Raph throwing a punch at a tattered, skeletal guy who just explodes into rats upon impact.

How about an inclusion of The Purple Dragons? Like, Mikey could sneak out one night to attend a skating competition hosted by them (Mikey would not be aware), concealed in a hoodie and mask. He pulls off some badass moves and people are impressed, but then disaster strikes - he messes up, the disguise comes off and the gang grab him.

Get this: Megan Fox is one of the best parts. Her performance is fine compared to what else is here.

Seriously There a several Emotional Scenes The brother hood bond is Great The integrations with each other are awesome. Splinter and his Fatherly bond is great. None of that is Fake or hallow and is most definitely Earned.

No it isn't. I guess some of the bond between the turtles is good, but nothing else really works. The fact that Raph needs almost no convincing to leave a dying Splinter is a huge misstep.

Dear Sam, I havn't a clue what you've just written, however;

I've told you to f*ck off before. I dislike you. You don't take the time to proof read your posts, at all, so I assume you're an absolute idiot, or just really inconsiderate of others. I'm sure it's a bit of both.

The war is over buster, and you've lost. We've ALL lost, because of people, just like you, who insist on lowering the bar, for everything. 16% isn't even close to a passing grade. They trashed the franchise. Applaud all you want, theaters will be empty by the third weekend. 2014 toys will go in the bargain bin.
You really want to know why I'm so opposed to PD's movie? Check my posts.
I'm convinced you love this movie because you just don't know any better.

You cook, so how's this: this "opportunity" was a beautiful cut of 40 day dry aged prime beef, ready for the souvis, to be transformed into mouth watering perfection.
Instead, someone butterflied it, dropped it in a dry frying pan, and cooked it for 30 minutes in olive oil. Then they tried to serve it, customer complainedit was dry, so they scraped it off the plate into a big bin, and made burgers out of it. Burgers didn't sell, and the meat cost money, so well, screw it, make a chilli. Nobody wants the damed chilli, so let's sell it with Nachos and cheese!

And your buying those sad Nachos, for the same price as you would have paid for the steak, because of the Canadian Prime in the meat sauce. Not the same as having a beautiful steak though, is it. And you keep going back for seconds! More than that, you want to force me to eat them too!

Stop it.

Radical Raph 08-08-2014 06:57 AM

I really hope there isn't a sequel and we get a better reboot soon but I'm pretty sure they've ruined the turtle franchise for awhile whether this thing is successful or not. I guess if enough people like it then who am I to say they shouldn't have a sequel? But I want nothing to do with this version. I'd rather watch the old ones. And I'm not even a nostalgic purist.

Nah dude, Sam's been pushing my buttons for a few weeks now. he doesn't like that I made fun of him, now he wants to get me kicked out. I've been very polite in the past, and he keeps looking for a fight. This isn't the first row we've had, but I want it to be the last. I'm trying to make it clear, and will put him on ignore I guess, but why? Why can't he just stay away?

Actually, he did.
We can do this all day. Why are you picking a fight with me? I've agreed with you in the past on numerous things, but now, you're up in arms?
Sam didn't actually read what I'd written, he simply regurgitated his ongoing rhetoric.
I'm a firm believer that the studio's are paying attention to the online reactions, so much so that they are willing to make drastic changes if word of mouth is bad.
I don't think 2014 should be the model going forward, in any form, and the opinions of the fans should be expressed to the max. It's because Godzilla 1999 was universally hated, that they made damned sure to reboot with fans in mind. It's because superman returns was panned that you got MOS (which I loathe, in both instances, but still). It's the hatred for TASM costume that they made TASM2 costume better, possibly the best CBM costume since Reeves in '78.

But Sam isn't discerning in his taste, and will accept just about anything, in the face of other fans desires, without bothering to understand why they're miffed. He's entitled to his opinion, sure, that's not my issue. it's that he blatantly ignores mine, and others. he doesn't present an actual argument, ever, and certainly doesn't try to make his opinion legible.

Yes, he caused the divide, along with two or three others that decided to shout down the naysayers.

Back to the topic:

If there's a sequel, I'd like it to be Battle Toads, or Street Sharks. In that way, I won't care what they do.

And you do? Watch it play out. And who the **** are you with that name?
Maybe I should change mine to 2014TMNTblows.
Get over yourself.

I ain't getting paid ****, the problem is that you are a hell of an unpleasant dick that is antagonistic. Has it occurred to you that certain people would get off your back if you stopped being an offensive little ****?

There are three I'd consider as the emotional scenes.

One with the trio and Splinter locking them out to save themselves, which was pretty good.

One with Raph and Splinter, which I felt was sort of quick to move on from.

One with the brothers during the climax, which I thought was pretty horrible as it had no support to build up to it. I liked Don's confession, Mike's was a throw away, and Raph's didn't fit in the context of the movie whatsoever. They didn't emphasize the subplot from the Blue Door script yet they kept this big catharsis from it. Leo.....got nothing. :/

That last one could be the victim of editing in the rest of the movie, much like April's dad dying in the lab he set on fire with him and his daughter in it, yet then saying Sacks shot him to death. I suspect an editing gaffe there.

*sigh* I'll see you guys when threads get unlocked again. It's coming...

Wait.. April's dad dies in a fire yet Sachs says he shot him to death later in the film?
