TMNT 2014 Blu Ray Release
Just noticed on amazon the preorder for the new movie is already available. There is a deluxe boxset that includes a Raphael statue. Pretty cool for any fans of the new film

Eh... works for me given Raph is my favorite.

I already pre-ordered it... plus I have Prime, so if it drops in price, it works to my favor. :D
|
Aww.. why can't it also be regular DVD and Turtle of choice. That's cool though for Raph fans with blu ray.
|
Well it did say in the description that Raph won in an online contest...
I agree with pihb... a diorama of all 4 from the statues would have been the best. |

I must have this, Thanks for posting :-)

Man, the pre-orders come fast these days!
I'm wondering which movie will be the first to offer the blu-ray pre-order when the first trailer hits. Quote:
No, it says "Amazon exclusive figure" Which might mean "Buy the Wal-Mart edition for Leonardo!" "Buy the Target edition for Donatello!" Yeah, you'll get 4 copies of the movie to buy them all, but do it! DOOO IIIIT! Not a guarantee, but there's been a lot of milking of retail-exclusive "special editions" in the past couple of years. Granted, this would be better as it's the statue. The ones I've seen were extra features and behind the scenes exclusive to each different retailer. No thanks. I've got the Sideshow statues of the classic look. Not shelling out $80 for this movie and a single statue. |
Aww dang it! Not that I don't like Raph, he's my second favorite.
But I want a Donnie figure with my set!!! :p Poor nerd lol. But that's awesome that this is already available for pre-order. I never expected to see it this soon. Then again, didn't they kind of release that Nintendo 3DS game quickly much like the news about this DVD set is already out and about, and the movie just came out in theaters this morning. Looks like I'm gonna have to beg or steal just to get the money to get on the Pre-Order waiting list as well. |
This looks awesome, I can see myself getting this instead of just the movie.

Is this statue worth $50? any specs on it? size weight ect?? If anyone knows please let me know. If its of decent size I could see myself getting this, I never get big editions of movies like this, but I might make an exception for the Turtles.
|
I hope that's what it is. Different places will have an exclusive figure, because unfortunately Amazon, whomever offers me Donnie, is gonna get my cash like nobody's business lol.
Praying Best Buy might have Don, but I guess we'll see. So, do you guys think the second disc in the set may be for extra goodies? I hope so. I was really intrigued when they spoke of the motion capture suits and such. And I'd love to see bloopers and all. Commentary. I eat up the extras almost as much as the movies themselves. |

Of course I'm getting this.
This movie possibly dethroned the original movie imo. |

This statue looks a lot like the Prime 1 statue but smaller with less detail and lower quality paint job. Still looks sweet though. Hmmm, I wonder.

The value I guess would depend on what it's made of and what the actual paint apps look like... If it's vinyl - hells no. If it's resin or something heavy like that and paint apps looks decent, it will be 'worth it'. |
Well that would be awesome if other figures did end up sold in sets by other retailers. :)

I'll decide to buy it when they have an un-cut version available

Those types of figure/statues are usually ballpark $50-$75 like the Kotobukiya figures. I don't see resin or polystone likely for a DVD release, though I suppose they did do so with Lord of the Rings. Just not sure Paramount will invest that sort of additional money. |

For me, nothing will ever match the Sideshow statue line, but I could see a release of the turtles and perhaps Shredder maquettes from the movie. They'll be more expensive if they happen, but I'd consider it $50 far more well invested in maquettes. Of course, if the film underperforms, then I doubt they'll invest the funds to produce maquettes, in which case this is your best statue option. |
I guess the hot new trend is to release deluxe editions of your movies with trophies and statues. At least the Raphael statue is better than buying your own personal bust of Electro's head.

Pre-ordered.

I was surprised that Raphael outnumbered all of the turtles. Nice to know that there are a lot more Raphael fans than I previously thought. |
Extended Elevator Scene or no buy!
|
That Blu-Ray is a Must Buy for me, it also comes with the 3D Version.
|
Should we pre-order this with Next Day Shipping or just the default? since it doesnt come out til its release and normally, They send them right away and you would usually get them on the day of release I think.
|
Holy crap! ALREADY? It's literally only opening weekend for this movie! o_o
I like the statue and I might get it in hopes of a lot of extras...but I'm not 100% yet. I don't know that I love it enough to own it immediately. |
I want this badly, but I'd rather have Mikey or Leo, or even Donnie depending on how they all look. Raph was the best character in the movie, but he looks the worst to me.

I cant wait to Get this and Hopefully a Directors Cute With loads of Special features Seriously
|
This looks like a very possible buy for me for the new movie release. Raph's my favorite so it does seem pretty likely that I'll get this. Especially since the Prime 1 Studious 1/4 scale statue will probably cost a whole lot of money and this Raph is in the same pose anyway. Very nice to see this so soon for the Blu-Ray release.
