Should Megan Fox be nominated for Oscar award?

She might not be a super woman like Black Widow, Alice from Resident Evil or a gun blazing woman like Angelina Jolie; but she portrays a very relateable and inspiring reporter/woman figure. She worked hard on this role and pouring her heart into it. As April, she's attractive, but she wasn't vain or arrogant, instead she's very humble.

She's determined, really driven to get to the truth. And she's got a reckless streak in her. Despite being a hostage, she still wanted to take video/pic using her phone to cover a story, risking her own life. (SPOILER) She managed to land an attack on Shredder using a sai to his back during the sewer lair invasion. And in the final climax, eventhough she's hundreds of feet tall hanging to a building piece, she risked her life to boot the Shredder to his demise.

Getting an Oscar is a bit of a stretch, but I just wanted to highlight how captivating and mesmerizing her performance was in this film. :P Truly, Megan was one of the highlights of the movie. I can't take my eyes off her, it probably feels just like Heath Ledge's Joker from The Dark Knight.

To whoever did the costume for Megan - that yellow jacket reminiscent of the OT April jumpsuit, truly was a stroke of genius. She simply looks stunning in it.

Never going to happen. She'd probably have to play a mute like in The Piano to be even considered a Globe, much less an oscar.

What? No. No. No. No way. Zero chance. She brought almost zero emotion to her role. This was probably her best performance yet, but that ain't saying much.

This, on the other hand? Far more likely.

We could be. I've noticed, there isn't too much threads talking about "How cool was that sh!t" and "my favorite quotes were this" and "well, my favorite Leo, Raph, Donny, Mikey scene is so on and so on".

For a movie getting a lot of love, it's not really showing it except, wow, it made 60 million plus on opening weekend.

Megan Fox might have been alright in the new TMNT movie but she was not spectacular in it. So, I do not think she deserves to be nominated for an Oscar.

There wouldn't be any justice in the world if Megan Fox had an Oscar and Emilio Estevez didn't. I just wouldn't wanna live anymore.

Yeah, that's actually depressing when you think about it. This movie is so forgettable.

It's like that everywhere, IMDb, superherohype, and some other forums I visit. Geeze, at least when the 2007 movie came out, we had a freaking year debating the Leo vs Raph fight! This movie, I just can't think of anything that really stood out for me to get excited about.

Meh, the movie is still fresh in my mind.

Oh yeah, why don't you start a thread so we can see! Most TMNT movies and shows tend to have fans getting really psycological with what happens to the boys in the movies and TV shows, or, they like to discect how an action scene went down (hey, Mikey totally used his acrobatics here) or (this is how strong Raph is, he can pick up Leo, Vern and April single handedly) Stuff like this shows just how good the movie really is to fans instead of just saying, hey, I think it's the best, and the box office proves it! Yay!

That's the stuff I want to read too.

Meh, give them to the Turtles actors and model artists. The Turtles are the stars of this stuff, it should go to them, but since it can't it goes to those who brought them to life.

I don't see this as a troll thread at all. While Megan Fox is not Oscar material by any stretch of the imagination, I could honestly see a difference in how she approached this movie compared to her past performances.
Aside from the gratuitous booty shot (thank you Michael Bay), she didn't come across like "look at me. I'm such a babe and you all know it"
No "Kristen Stuart face" during the movie like she's all that or above the material, no leaning over a motorcycle to show off the goods, no excessive cleavage.
I think she did a decent job with the material she was given. She was emotive and showing earnest in her performance and I for one found this a refreshing change from the crap she's churned out in the past. Maybe she's at a point in her life where she wants to be a more serious actor and actually be remembered for more than her looks?

i mean honestly this is the technodrome. there were some positive threads, i remember one being "shocking fans by how good it is" but what happens is everyone with negative opinions jumps in the thread, turning it into all negatives. then they do the same with the negative threads. eventually every thread turns into the same exact discussions.

if i started a thread saying "favorite scenes from the movie" or "best lines from the movie" what would happen is people would come and post, then others would post back, saying how that scene was awful, or didnt make sense, or how they couldnt think of a favorite line because all they could think about was this bad line.

theres no way to have postive discussion because people just counter with the negatives. and to be fair, negatives have been countered with postives too. but to judge how people like it based on negative threads isnt accurate at all, because there are a some individual voices that are dominating a lot of these threads.

not intentionally trying to insult anyone, but this is how i see it


now honestly, i liked megan as april. i never once felt she lacked emotion, liked her characterization, and think her acting was just fine.

How? And my statement is true, the fans are not out there, no where telling what was so good about this movie! "It's awesome and the best" is just as bad as "It's awful and it sucks" when there is no context behind the claims. Right now, it seems the cons have far more arson to their claims than the pros, since you guys can't even praise what was so good about the movie except, wow, it made bank at the BO.

well to be fair, right now, most of your claims are completely based off opinions or personal preference. i could go into why this movie was good based on my opinions, and thats just as supported as yours

Megan Fox is a terrible actress.

Not everything can always be explained, there is this thing known as the unknown side, hell sometimes I myself can't put my finger on why I genuinely like or dislike something. It's just the way it is.

You're asking someone if they are stupid, because their opinion differs than yours? I don't think she's a great actress either, but I do think it's one of HER best performances.
Here's a good rule of thumb.. Don't say things online that you wouldn't say in conversation with someone face to face. And if you really talk to people like this you don't deserve to be in anyone's conversation, online OR in person. Try and be an adult.
