Quick Forum Consensus. New Film - Like, Dislike, Neutral?

I read the reviews and it's hard to see how the board feels. I'm curious to see a number on this.

beeshaw 08-12-2014 01:23 PM

Liked it. :tcool:

Xiewin 08-12-2014 01:27 PM

Both.

The turtles? They were fine.

Everything else? It pretty much sucked for me.

Electric 08-12-2014 01:34 PM

liked it, it had a couple flaws, but i enjoyed it overall

IndigoErth 08-12-2014 01:52 PM

70% like... (Had Pete been allowed to voice Leo it would prob be more like 85-90%.)

psychturtle 08-12-2014 01:54 PM

72% liked. Story was weak but it was nice seeing tmnt of the silver screen again

Purse Grabbin Puke 08-12-2014 03:55 PM

Finally a clear cut poll. THANK YOU!

CyberCubed 08-12-2014 04:21 PM

Meh. 6/10 from me. The movie just felt off.

Joey Kamikaze 08-12-2014 04:28 PM

It was bad and the people who made it should feel bad.

That's basically my opinion, except for the Shredder. He was a shallow as Hell villain; much like the whole Foot Clan in the film, but at least he was interesting looking and fought in an unconventional way.

CyberCubed 08-12-2014 04:35 PM

Those glasses on Donatello were so god awful.

Autbot_Benz 08-12-2014 06:08 PM

just got home from it I loved it.

BabyTurtles 08-12-2014 06:09 PM

It had it's little bitty flaws~

but overall I loved it ^_^

Coola Yagami 08-12-2014 06:17 PM

Dis-****in-liked.

Jester 08-12-2014 06:20 PM

Mostly disliked. It had its moments but most of it had me unintentionally laughing or hanging my head.

METALHEAD 08-12-2014 06:28 PM

i loved it. love the designs of the turtles, story was decent. and had a lotta action! that movie was chingón !

cryan 08-12-2014 06:33 PM

Neutral for me. I don't have any plans of seeing it. Like Bayformers I just can't get past the character designs of the guys. Call old fashioned but blahhh.

TMNT is cooler than MOTU 08-12-2014 07:29 PM

Dislike for sure.

CyberCubed 08-12-2014 07:39 PM

I think little kids and the MTV generation liked the movie, but those of us over 20 probably didn't.

hitmonkey 08-12-2014 08:09 PM

I enjoyed it whenever the Turtles were on screen. Any time there were no Turtles, I f***ing HATED it.

Thats how I felt, but hate is such a strong word. I would say disliked, cringed at times? Yes....

Awilkes8 08-12-2014 09:52 PM

I find that I have way more things I disliked than things I liked, but I also think that's me being hypercritical and I did leave entertained at least.

When there's money involved, those who reap the benefits off of others, rarely feel bad at all.

Ughh I really hope this trilogy doesn't turn out to be like Transformers. Is it too much to ask for a good turtles movie?

CyberCubed 08-12-2014 09:54 PM

The entire movie was off. We barely got to know these Turtles, there was no time to simply get used to their personalities or chemistry (or lack thereof) together. It just went from action scene to action scene.

The worst part about the movie aside from the half-baked plot was that these Turtles just weren't very likeable. Even ignoring the designs their personalities came across as parodies of themselves stripped down to the bare minimum.

All Don did was say tech talk, all Mikey did was make jokes, all Raph did was get angry, and Leo just said calm or leader-y stuff. Its like someone took the bare minimum of their personalities and made it work.

It shoudn't be, and that's the sad part. Their story is pretty straight forward, no reason to get all complex. See, for me, it's not the story, but the brotherhood within the story, and the Turtles are so easy to identify, I just don't understand why it would be difficult to make a good TMNT movie.

This. Omigosh please let him voice Leo, not just Mocap. I can't imagine how he can remain calm after all that work done only to have your movement but not voice in the movie. Basically being a puppet. He's a strong guy not making a scene so far..or maybe he's contractually obligated not to.

CyberCubed 08-13-2014 12:27 AM

The more I think of this movie the more and more I realize what a mess it was. What on earth was the point of 3 huge action scenes back to back? The 3 Turtles are only captured for like...10 minutes because Raphael gets to the fortress immediately in the next scene.

The adrenaline scene was awful. It was meant to be funny when they were jumping around but they came off as borderline retarded.

I also dislike Shredder's look more and more. He looked like a bland robot with knives coming all out of him instead of Shredder.

Leo656 08-13-2014 12:33 AM

I thought you weren't gonna see it because the Turtles' nostrils gave you nightmares.

I mean, I swear, the last person to bitch so much about anyone's nostrils was Lindsay Lohan's coke dealer.

Does Cyber do anything but Complain ?

Leo656 08-13-2014 12:41 AM

Sometimes he talks about Batman.

Yeah, I feel for the guy. Leo too. Think its quickly become my main dislike... Really hope they will hear out fan feedback that wants Pete to have a shot at it next time.

I'm sure after spending so long portraying Leo he's a million times more connected and familiar with the guy than Knoxville who seemed to admit in a video to not even doing any research... Pete and Leo, fingers crossed for you guys.

From Platinum Dunes, probably?

Midnight Mutant 08-13-2014 03:30 AM

I dunno. Neutral I guess. It's not as bad as I expected, but not great either. Just so-so. I have no strong hate or undying love for it so...neutral.

Leolead 08-13-2014 03:44 AM

I loved it, my family loved it, my friends liked it (then again before this movie they weren't big fans of the Turtles)

909 Turtle Fan 08-13-2014 03:58 PM

I liked it alot. It was fun seeing everyone wearing turtle shirts and laughing and clapping. The movie was FAR from perfect, but imo it was entertaining.

Who is the "Mtv generation" these days, I thought it was those who originally grew up on it way back and are "old" now.

Because that said... 35 here and I liked it enough to consider checking it out again. It's not perfect, definitely some issues there, but hoping they will be resolved/improved in the sequel.

CyberCubed 08-13-2014 04:10 PM

The plot was dumb and silly, but the worst part were the Turtles themselves. They just weren't likeable. You HAVE to make the Turtles likeable to care about them.

It's like someone wikipedia'd their personalities and gave them a few lines of dialogue per each trait and that's it. And those god awful glasses on Donatello, whoever thought it was a good idea to have Don wear glasses all the time needs to be slapped upside the head.
