Kevin Eastman is going to give an AMA on Reddit today.

Announcement here

On the 14/8/14 at 3:00 PM est. Just letting you guys know. It's also going to be in the general AMA sub, not the TMNT sub.

Netkeeper 08-13-2014 01:04 PM

Oooh. This'll be interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

Powder 08-13-2014 01:45 PM

Ugh. Reddit. Can't wait to read 100 people asking him sh*t we've known since the 90's, as well as hostile & misinformed folks who still think the turtles are supposed to be aliens in the new movie.

i got to ask Kevin my question about the soft head turtles at Calgary expo... and he pretty much answered any other question i had at his panel...

Cipher 08-13-2014 10:17 PM

Someone get a lock on this Fichtner/Shredder thing, please.

CyberCubed 08-13-2014 11:19 PM

Someone tell him to stop hyping up things that are going to suck, like the new movie.

Netkeeper 08-14-2014 01:45 AM

I've got an account and I'll ask questions on peoples' behalf if they want me to. Just let me know precisely what to ask, and don't flood me with **** you know someone else is gonna ask.

So does anyone know the actual thread we'll be posting questions to? I don't go on Reddit often, so I'm unsure of the page set ups work. I take it there will be a page set up eventually?

Netkeeper 08-14-2014 12:51 PM

GO GO GO he's only got an hour!

TigerClaw 08-14-2014 01:07 PM

Already asked my one question. :)

Donatello is the oldest. IT IS NOW CANON.

TigerClaw 08-14-2014 02:01 PM

He answered one of my AMA Questions. :D

Peter & I were doing dishes one night. I was drying off a metal cheese grater and I turned to Pete and said, "Man, can you image a bad guy with one of these on his arm. He'd shred your arm off. We could call him the Grater." Peter suggested The Shredder. Absurd ideas can come from anywhere when you're dealing with TMNT.

Powder 08-14-2014 02:31 PM

As expected, nobody asked anything good. Just a buncha casuals.

My question was good, We find out how they came up with The Shredder. :)

Netkeeper 08-14-2014 02:34 PM

IIRC, Peter Laird told that story on his blog somewhere already.

Indeed. That story's fairly common knowledge.

The Fifth Turtle 08-14-2014 02:45 PM

It's in the ultimate visual history fo sure. Sorry dude.

Cause your fountain of intellectual cutting edge questions were so great right? :trolleye:

Bravesfanjd 08-14-2014 04:21 PM

I enjoyed th ama it's cool to get insight from people like Kevin. I hope he does another one soon.

RaphaelinSTL 08-14-2014 04:29 PM

Shoot. He didn't get to my question about the John Fusco TMNT movie script. Oh well. Maybe next time.

I get the impression he wouldn't have answered that anyway. Kevin Eastman doesn't seem to be as elaborate in his answers as Peter Laird was.

Also he spelled things wrong too.

Yes, ever since it was mentioned in the Behind the Shells video 23 YEARS AGO.

Cryomancer 08-14-2014 09:12 PM

So is Eastman drunk here or what? He seems to think that he / Playmates invented Usagi and he can't even spell it.

That's not canon. He's giving me the impression that he wasn't sure himself. Didn't he also say Karai was Shredder's daughter in the Mirage comic books when that would have been physically impossible considering her age?

Purse Grabbin Puke 08-15-2014 01:44 AM

I saw he spelled Krang "Crang" so I'm assuming he had someone typing for him. A lot of people who do AMA's have someone type.

Powder 08-15-2014 04:50 AM

Nah, that was definitely him. He even admits himself he's got terrible spelling issues, & the scripts I've seen prove that. :trazz:

For sure, just giving an example.

And it was a big article including the making of Shredder on the old official ninja turtles website.

woops, sorry. I totally read your post as demanding an example.

Cipher 08-15-2014 12:39 PM

I don't think everyone needs to gang up on the guy, but yeah ...

It's really a good idea/general courtesy to do a little research before these things to make sure you don't end up asking something that's already on record.

Netkeeper 08-15-2014 12:46 PM

To be honest, I went in there knowing he wouldn't answer anything all that interesting anyway. I liked the sillier questions more just because of that. Peter Laird is the one that'll answer the more interesting questions, he appears to be more opinionated.

Did anyone ask him who his favorite Turtle is? I always thought it was eluded but never actually confirmed by Eastman himself that it was Raphael.
