Official Ep Discussion: S3 Ep3: "Buried Secrets"
Man, it is getting harder and harder to find videos to embed in this thread.
Okay, so a little time has passed since the romance of Bigfoot-ette and the crazy finger guy. We've also seen Donnie get some really confusing mixed signals from April - she doesn't like the music box, but she kisses him on the lips and calls him 'her mutant'. We've gotten past all the crazy weird stuff with the puke creep and Bigfoot, so now they can settle down into the 'routine'- Cleaning up the house and clearing out the cobwebs. Dusting and polishing ALL the wood furniture in the house. And then the basement. I hate basements... they're dark, dank, full of old stuff, and infested with enough spiders to make a Steven King movie. April said that this farm was her childhood home - away from the city, away from outside contact. We know now that she's not a normal human being, but it does bring up more questions. What was her father doing during the time they were there? Was she a normal kid back then? And where is her mother? (...we're starting to sound just like the avatar fans!) WILL DONNIE CONTINUE TO SPAR WITH CASEY FOR APRIL'S HEART?! WILL APRIL FIND OUT THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENED TO HER MOTHER! IS KIRBY REALLY THE LOVING FATHER WE'VE BEEN LEAD TO BELIEVE?! Oh yeah.... DID MIKEY SAVE THE REFRIGERATOR LAST WEEK, AND RESCUE POOR ICKITTY?! Stay tuned!! |
Just saw it. Great episode. Oh, mutagen gets spilled in the woods and it might be possible that some other Mutants well be introduced, ribbit. ;-)
|
:teek: Anyone have words for it, 'cuz I don't. Woah.
Frogs incoming... |
It interesting that April's....banshee scream seems to only effect the kraang and kraang's experiments.
|
Told you guys :P

Getting a little sick of the "character X is not who you think they are" plot. Saw it coming 10,000 miles away. That aside, this was a very entertaining episode. Loved the nods to They Live & The Thing, ice cream kitty getting more screen time, & dark stuffs.

Poor Mikey, Once again no one listens to him and because of that all hell breaks loose.
Anybody else catch that Raph was watching the Halloween III Silver Shamrock Commerical? I nearly died. |
This though:
http://media2.giphy.com/media/zneneBRKXznW0/200_s.gif Halloween 3 movie reference. :D http://youtu.be/8LrYsc8wfXM (*Strobe effect warning, don't need anyone with issues having one) Edit: Starting to like Seth a bit as Leo, at least when his tone sounds smoother and less gravelly. One or two parts in this one he just sounded like a good, older Leo who's voice had simply deepened, not bad. :) |
My quick thoughts:
Spoiler:
|
Renae Jacobs did a fine job. Ironically, the only times she really sounded like her old April voice was her screams, faints, and "evil" mood.
|
awesome ep, but my 1 complaint is how raph, don, and mikey sent leo down into the basement 1st even though hes injured, I mean, come on, seriously.....
other than that, love the direction they are going w/ the show |
It took 3 episodes, and Seth Green has sunk in to me now. No point during this episode did I think anything of it.
Bring on the Punk Frogs...after a 3 week hiatus! :P Very Nice episode by mister Mark Henry. |
Sick Episode! The plots are getting repetitive but I must say this episode was written WAY better than the previous one. Renae Jacobs did a fantastic job! The action was badass too. :)

I bet some little kids were scared away from watching this show ever again because of this ep. They're probably losing ratings because kids are getting nightmares and refusing to watch.

What? This episode aired? I thought it wouldn't air until next week.:ohwell:
|
Three things.
1) The feels like the start of a story arc. The search for Mrs. O'Neil. 2) Renae Jacobs is a nice choice for who should voice April's mother. 3) We're going to see the Punk Frogs next episode. |

but that isn't 6, H20, or resurrection |
I find it funny the Punk Frogs are mutated in this show almost the same way they were in the OT.

Ok, 'bout the episode. Man, these are getting weirder and weirder. I really hope the writers are focusing on the plot as well as the visuals for this show. I mean that...thing was pretty messed up, but pretty clever in design. So, the Thing remembered April's mother getting captured and apparently they had been experimenting on her family's bloodline since her great grandfather? Well, if they knew that the Kraang ship landed on that property...WHY DO THEY HAVE A HOUSE OUT THERE??!?!? I mean, April's mother had to have known that the Kraang activity should still be there, so why would they keep going back to a dangerous place like that? Maybe I missed something... Once again, poor Mikey is said to be stupid and nobody believes him until it's too late. Although Pizza Face is still debatable. And how exactly DID he sense something was wrong with April's mother. I didn't notice any warning signs going off when Irma showed up or when Kirby was brain controlled. Still, I'm glad he was picked off early so we got it down to Raphael. As for April's powers, that's still pretty confusing. It only seems to happen around Kraang when her adrenaline reaches a certain point. I don't think it's a sonic scream, like someone said, but more of a psychic blast. Her screaming is just from how much it hurts her. I certainly hope that April's mother comes back or is somewhere. If her DNA is special since her grandfather's days, then she'd have been too important to just dispose of. But that would mean that the Kraang could've taken over the planet years ago as opposed to when April was born. I really want to believe in this show guys. I really really want this to be as good as it was in the first season, but I'm starting to think we may have jumped the shark awhile back. Still, I'll keep watching it, even if it is for episodic purposes. |
Felt kinda a tiny bit bad for the Turtles though along with April. Asking where "mom" is, rather than saying "Mrs. O'Neil"... words they'd never really had a chance to speak before. Too bad she wasn't legit and couldn't have gotten to know them as family, too.
