Leo and Tea Time Girl

I remember reading on here some people wanting to see Tea Time Girl again. I don't think this counts, but in the new Target commercial Leo is at a Tea Party with a girl and other toys. I thought it was cute that they picked Leo out of all the turtles. Maybe someone is a fan of the show?

I'm curious of what fans liked about Tea Time Girl? Was it her spunky attitude, the way she accepted Leo without question, or something else that sparked your interest in her?

I think it just the image of Leo having pretend tea with a little girl.

Omg, wah?? I MUST see this commercial... maybe my merchandise related wish is coming true. If so, GO TMNT (and Target) for being willing to break a glass ceiling on kid's media/merchandise. (And for us big girl fans, too.)

Anyway... back to the actual question. :D I dunno, not necessarily just the kid herself, but collectively the Leo pairing with her was completely adorable. I'd love it if we'd see more of her and she and Leo keep a secret little friendship. Like she'd just happen to spot him, share a quick wave "hi" and when her parent asks who she's waving to Leo is gone and she's all "Ohhh nobody..." :)

Mellie 11-19-2014 08:09 PM

I saw that commercial. Leo looks kinda creepy

I didn't think Tea time girl was anything special... it was just cute to see Leo interacting with her. He remembered pinky out later on! :D

It was nice that they included her in The Invasion. I'm sure we'll see her again sometime when we return to NYC.

I should have clarified that the girl is a giant human girl and not sitting at the table with them. She was tossing around marshmallows if I remember right. I need to see it again to be sure.

I liked Tea Time Girl with Leo. That's why I was hoping she'd come back or we see her again when they return to NYC...and I want Mikey and Donnie to riff on him since to my knowledge, they don't know that he had a tea party with the girl, only Raph saw it.

One thing that is cute, though, is that in the Mom...Thing ep (Buried Secrets), when Leo was drinking the tea, he had his pinky up, just like he learned in Slash & Destroyed from Tea Time Girl. Loved that little homage to her.

IndigoErth 11-19-2014 08:19 PM

Ah, think I found it? So then he's also one of the toys, love that someone had the mind and guts enough to include him and not just stuff like Barbie and princesses. :D

Holy freakin' hell, that's hilarious. I kid you not - I JUST watched this episode. Woke up from a nap not 30 minutes ago and was like, "You know what, I feel like watchin' some Turtles," and put on Slash and Destroy. And then I log on to the forums and see this thread. Hilarious.

Yeah, tea time girl was great because she's been the only human (aside from Timothy, maybe) to be ENTIRELY accepting of an anthropomorphic ninja turtle upon first glance. That's definitely part of what makes her so likeable, is that she's naive enough and imaginative enough to be totally un-phased by something like that.

Well she's cute. I liked her attitude too. I could agree that she should be on another show cause we didn't get to see much of her. But how would they make her return? She can't just fall out of the sky  Any ideas? I'm out.
I have one idea though the girl could be Casey's little sister cause it said in the invasion something about his family and that he had a sister. Or she could be related to April somehow (cousin?) They could give her a name too, I mean seriously? "Tea Time Girl"'s gonna get old real quick.

What about Bernie in Dream Beavers? lol No wait, I think he thought he was hallucinating because of what April said after he took notice of the TV. "No four giant turtles? The TV really?" *something like that* and then he quickly said, "Oh, you see them too?"

But that aside, maybe that's why I liked tea time girl too. I really hope they bring her back and make a joke regarding Leo's voice.

"You sound different Mr. Turtle."
"This is my Batman voice."

That is one trippy ass commercial, I love it.

Gunstar_Red 11-20-2014 01:16 AM

Not only were these scenes cute, they shown Leo's almost parental side. He could have easily just grabbed the mutagen canister out of her hands and escaped quickly. Who cares if she screamed for her father, because who's really going to believe her when she says she saw a 5-6 foot talking turtle? Instead, he played along and waited until her guard was down. I have a feeling that if Raph and Slash's fight didn't interrupt tea time, Leo would have waited until she fell asleep before taking off with the mutagen. It would be pushing on the cuteness level a bit much, but bonus points if he carried her to her bed and tucked her in before leaving.

I found that there's a few Turtles clothing for little girls at Target. Not much, but hey. Here's an example:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Girls' Graphic Tee: "Does this shell make me look awesome?"
And Walmart has clothing too. (Though I haven't seen them in actual stores. Online only?)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Girls' Graphic Tee: "Heroes Don't Need Capes"
I find it interesting and wish they had this kind of stuff when I was growing up.

Yes! I knew that little girl looked familiar! I hope she and the Pizza Delivery Guy made it out of the city unmutated.

Cute shirts, will be nice to see it branch out more eventually (I hope), but it's a start. :)

Awww... Of course with a lot of kids it would probably just end up like this...

"It's probably past your bed time, aren't you tired?"

"No... not at all."

I loved that little girl and do hope we see her again when we get to NYC. I've named her Abby and have written a story about her, though I haven't finished it yet.

CharmedSerenity 11-20-2014 11:36 AM

Speaking of that character, has anyone else read "My Mr Turtle"?

Not yet cuz it's blocked on my school laptop and there's no way my sister's gonna let me get on hers :ohwell: Did you write it?

Cute story, enjoying it so far. :) Nick could really take some inspiration there. And making me wish the in-show child would end up with a plushie turtle doll/stuffed animal, similar to the Build-A-Bear Leo, sans mask and gear. And she fashions a little blue mask for it herself. :D

Yes, and it's a very good read for sure.

And, what other version should they have used, considering it was a toy commercial?

Wasn't there some talk going around at one point that pizza delivery guy is going to become Mondo Gecko? Maybe I am remembering wrong..

There are plenty of design choices.
Leonardo Evolution 3 Pk Exclusive
Half-Shell Heroes Mega Leonardo

As a side note, I love that there's so many different versions to pick from, but isn't it kinda counter productive or something to have versions available that are not reflecting things currently on-air? While they are at it, why don't they re-release the 2003 main figures too?

Then how are they going to get their pizza now when they return to New York? (JK) :P I try avoiding interviews and panels to avoid spoilers on this show, so I wouldn't know either.

BubblyShell22 11-21-2014 08:17 AM

I think the idea of the pizza kid becoming Mondo Gecko is just speculation at this point, and I don't think it's true because Ciro could still voice him if that was the case. Mondo Gecko is being voiced by Robbie Rist, so I think he's an entirely different character. I do like the pizza kid though and am even writing my own story about him.

neatoman 11-21-2014 08:41 AM

I'm not seeing Tea Time Girl returning in any sort of signifigant way, but they could tweak her character model to make Dale if they ever were to adapt the Mark Martin issues.

Wow! Kid needs to lay off those "marshmallows!" :tlol:

Pretty great ad though. It reminds me of that old school Toys 'R Us vibe.
