Krang's Body
Whatever happened to Krang's android body? For a short time after the "red sky" episodes began, he had it (once Mike even took it over with a video game), and then all of a sudden it disappeared. Can anybody solve this?
In the very last episode of the old cartoon, "Divide and "Conquer", the Turtles used Krang's android body to defeat Dregg.
Donatello and Michaelangelo traveled to Dimension X, retrieved it, jumped through the Technodrome's portal, and used it to battle a giant Dregg. Remember way back at the beginning the series when we saw Krang's android body grow bigger and then shrink back to normal size again? The Turtles used that concept here; they grew Krang's android body to fight Dregg, wrapped him up in a move Splinter called the Flying Claw, shrunk back down to normal size, opened up another portal, and then shoved both the android body and Dregg through it. For some reason, the writers came up with the idea that, once Krang's android body shrinks back to normal size, it will explode. With it wrapped around Dregg, the audience concludes that Dregg was destroyed, too. Hope this helps! "We've got one minute before this thing shrinks down to the size of a ping-pong ball and explodes!" "Bummer!" Donatello and Michaelangelo, from "Divide and Conquer" |
If I remember correctly, there was another episode where Krang's androind body got larger... Can't remember the season or episode name.

Which reminds me of another gigantic blooper that was made: at the end of season 7 (Shredder Triumphant!), as the Technodrome is being sucked into Dimension X once again but this time WITHOUT Shredder and Company in it (Shredder, Krang, Rocksteady and Bebop are stranded on Earth), Krang is seen with his body while his bubble walker was left on the Technodrome. Come the first episode of season 8 (Get Shredder!), we see Krang the opposite way around: he's in his bubble walker while is body is left on the Technodrome in Dimension X. I don't know HOW someone could've overlooked that fact... |
Well the series didn't have that good continuity in the first place. Also, at the end of season 8 the Techndrome falls into that pit of some sort, while in season 10 it's in toatally diffrent place. And yeah, season finale doesn't really seem much after 10 seasons.
Personally, I thought Turtle Trek would've made a better final episode for the series. Divide and Conquer was a very poorly done episode for a series finale. BTW, Krang's body is damaged several times.. it blows up in Krangenstein Lives! and it goes to pieces in the beginning of Pirate Radio but Krang repairs it, I know there's more times but I can't recall what episodes.
Well I guess they didn't know they were making a series finale when they finished season 10.

Raph: Leonardo, explain to me again why we're creeping in the dead of night instead of home in out nice, damp lair? Mike: Yeah, dude! We just blasted the Technodrome into Dimension X! Leo: The Technodrome may be gone, but Shredder and Krang are still loose! From that bit of information, you'd expect Krang to have his body and not the bubble walker if you'd seen the 7th season finale beforehand. knaw'mean? |
Well yeah, but it didn't ever really bother me. Maybe they tought it wouldn't fit the new feel they were going for or something. Who knows.
I noticed that too. But, I didn't mind because I liked bubble walker better. Android body didn't look very serious, compared to it.
I think the idea of Krang only having his bubble walker was that Krang would've been able to fight which was rare on the show and it would've made Shredder and Company harder to catch therefore making the script more difficult to write.

Who is Dregg?
Main enemy of the TMNT on season 9 and 10.
Got a picture of him?
I'd like to see a pic too, I can't remember what he looks like.
Im sure someone has a pic... If not I'l cap a picture from one of the episodes.

Of course, what you REALLY want to see is Nickokapo's picture of "Dragg". He'd make a good Carmen Miranda in that pic ;) |
Dragg wasn't a behind-the-scenes pic??

*snickers* I Remember that..! |
I was talking about the 9th season when dreg joined the show, the animation may have been redsky era but that particular season looked like crap the animation was cheaper and it made the turtles look cheap, but yes I do agree season 10 looked dam good I just am complaining about 9s crappy story lines and animation. I can't belive i'm the only one whos noticed that!
Karpo complains that 9 isn't as good as 10
thanks for a sec I thought I was the only one! lol after seeing season 7 back in the day I was so hyped to see what else they had up there sleeve after seeing season 9 I thought that was the end of the turtles.
Actually season 7 was pretty good animated as well. Atleast compared to seasons before that. Most importantly it was also written well.
Season 7 was a bit repetitive in some places but most of the episodes were very well written. The action was picked up a little bit in this season which i thought was cool. Still not quite as well written as some of the earlier episodes. Season 8 was when the series went to a more darker and serious attitude. I didn't think it was a bad idea it was just when Dregg showed up that I didn't like it that much. Season 9 was pretty poorly written and I just plain hated Dregg. Season 10 was a major improvement over season 9, the animation was a touch better, the stories were actually pretty good for the most part (especially the 3 parter where Shredder and Krang return!) Although overall I didn't like the animation in the later seasons. The turtles looking evil just didn't work for me and the whole concept of making the sky red was just stupid. Season 1 was just as dark and they didn't have a red sky. I really think they should've left the sky the way it was.
True that, I don't see the point in the sky's color either.
I thought the animation in season 7 was perfect. They should've left it like that instead of changing it entirely like they did.
Yeah it was excelent compared to previous seasons but season 8's was still better.
I have to admit, the secondary characters all looked alot cooler in those last three seasons. Even Rocksteady and Bebop looked improved in '94. But the eye holes in the turtles' masks and the sky were my only real complaints.
For me, one of the charms of the original cartoon was how many different animations there were of the Turtles. I always found it humorous how they could look a certain way during one episode, and then appear totally different in the next.
About the only animation I didn't much care for was that for the first season. I can't say that I really dig the Anime-style; there's just something about it that rubs me the wrong way. There were other episodes, too, where the animation was pretty horrible: Pizza by the Shred The Grybyx Plan 6 from Outer Space Turtles of the Jungle Rebel Without a Fin I like all these episodes, but the animation is atrocious; and the shows listed above aren't the only ones that fit this category. I read somewhere (I can't remember from what) that Peter Laird (or was it Kevin Eastman?) wouldn't watch certain episodes of the original cartoon because the animation was so terrible. However, for the most part, I liked the way the original cartoon was animated. I never had any complaints. Even Season 9, looking back on it, had a certain style to it. It may not have been the most spectacular animated Turtles we've ever seen, but it was far from gruesome. "Wake up and smell the pizza!" - Michaelangelo, from "Four Musketurtles" |
When I talk about how I don't like the animation, it isn't the characters mostly, it's the bad coregraphs in fight scenes and low framerate. In first and last 3 seasons the fights actually looked good and they made the animation meet standards of the time. That was true to season 9 too, but compared to seasons 8 and 10 it was inferior.

Anyone have a pic of Krang's REAL body, and not his android one? I've always been curious what kinda body would house a brain like that.
