Have You Ever Met Another Dromer?
 

I've met Funatic, Pl212, Raph, Agilarept, Archon Turtle, Iveyangelo, Sophistocat, aaaaaand probably others, in which case I'm SO sorry if I've forgotten you.

In 2010, Raph & I, being across the globe from one another & having never met, opted to say "Screw it!" & split a hotel room for New York Comic Con. I guess you take a risk with strangers ten years your senior from across the ocean with whom you've had no more than a handful of impersonal conversations, but what can I say? I like to live dangerously. :tlol: We pretty much spent the entirety of the con together making all the turtle stops, & we were recognized by pl212 & Iveyangelo, who also spent most of their time there with us. Was a really good time. Bumped into Archon & his wife & Agilarept as well. Met a bunch of TMNT artists/voice actors/etc & even ate pizza at Famous Rays, the actual pizzaria from Secret Of The Ooze. The voice of Baxter Stockman himself, Scott Williams, even invited us out for a beer! Unfortunately Raph & I had a train to catch:cry:, but what an awesome thought just the same.

In 2013 I went back to NYCC & was once again going around with pl212 for the majority of it. I met Sophisticat at Eric Talbot's table. I had a suspicion he was a Technodrome member given his enthusiasm for the turtles & the wad of original art under his arm, so I introduced myself & it turned out I was right. Later, while waiting in line for a TMNT autograph session, I was recognized by Funatic, who I shared a space in line with & later accompanied to the Nick series panel.

Everyone I've met was really super cool & friendly, & I'd be happy to kick it with them any time in the future. Another member here, Shellsweet, lives in the same town as me & I've seen her out shopping (at a distance) but we've yet to meet. I imagine it's innevitable we will one day, though. :trazz:

So how about y'all? I know some of you guys have even gotten married through the boards (how cool is that?).

Doc Spengler's lives close. We ought to hang out. :P

I haven't met anyone from the forum IRL as of yet. But I wouldn't mind it if I got the opportunity to do so TBH.

The only people I can say I've met is Hellsing, because ,well, I'm his girlfriend and he learned of this site because of me. And also my brother 17thCenturySorcerer, because I invited him. Lol so those are the only two I've personally met. It'd be cool to meet some others though. You all seem like interesting peeps. :D

I've met Hannah for lunch in NYC and hung out with Stryker and Katie for Wrestlemania XXIX. Good times.

I met ANdrew NDB at Wizard World a few years back in my Casey Jones costume. He's a cool cat in my book, met him with the TMNT Image Artist Frank Fosco, bought some original Artwork too.

I've met Andrew (Farago), and Miki and Michele Ivey (oddly enough, over Usagi, not TMNT), but that's it. Hopefully some other folks in the future.

Haven't been here long enough to, but I hope to be able to someday. I love getting to meet people.

I've met evenstar227 twice back when we used to be close. One of my (now ex-) co-workers signed up and posted a couple of times but I don't even remember his username.

'Sabout it I believe. The number of people I've met IRL after knowing them online, altogether, is pretty small... I think the actual number is 3.

Yup, Jester and 02 are the only dromers I've met in the real world. I think I was actually there when they met in college. I wanna say 04, or did ya show up in Fall of 03, Jester? You were sitting at one of those picnic tables. I distinctly remember it being a Friday morning in late September or early October. One of my classes was canceled which was a good thing because it was one of those mornings where a person just wants to sit outside and dig the day. You had one of the muppets with you. I wanna say Kirmit. We all got to talking about Henson. That, in turn, got us going on about the original TMNT movie and the rest is history. It'd be fun meeting everyone else. My fiancee and I plan on going to Comic Con one of these years, so we'll undoubtedly run into some of you. I should see if there are any conventions in Austin too which is much closer. We still plan on going to Comic Con regardless. I'd love to shake hands with all of you guys at some point. That's for sure.

I also met evenstar227 some years back. Met up with The Fifth Turtle and his gf when I visited Chicago a few years ago. And, I used to live right down the street from TheMasterTurtle. Saw his collection and we went to a con together to meet Kevin Eastman last year. Also I met Iveyangelo at a con sometime in the '90s, back before this website existed. Saw her at a few cons around that time. I think that's it.

The only one I know of who even lives anywhere near me is Cure. Not sure where, but everywhere in NJ is about an hour away, but since we travel in different circles I doubt our paths would ever cross.

I think Ai or whoever used to live in NJ, also, or maybe still does for all I know. But he was always pretty outspoken with his distaste for me so I'm pretty sure we'd have nothing to talk about, either.

I talked to GK on the phone a bunch of times about ten years ago and sent him some He-Man comics for Christmas presents, that's about as "close" as I've gotten to anyone here. The folks I get along with the most, tend to live on the West Coast or in other countries entirely. So, we'll probably never meet. ((shrug))

Nope. There are folks from here I wouldn't mind meeting, but I don't see it happening; they all live too far away. The only dromer I see myself ever coming across is slashpieturtlemix, 'cause he apparently works at the Toys R Us by my house.

Nope, but I was a day away from the time Powder went to NYCC. Plus I'm pretty close to others.

I don't think I'll ever be lucky enough to meet anyone here IRL. Closest I've come is getting a voice-message type thingy from Net (who has an awesome voice, btw), but that's it. Perks of living at the ass-end of the planet.

OldmanWinters and I have talked quite a bit, considering the commentaries. But oddly enough, we have some mutual RL friends because friends I had in college are attending the same seminary as Winters. Small world.

I've met IveyAngelo, Plastroncafe, Leonardo87, Archon turtle and mrmaczaps. :)

I almost met ThirdMarioBro in 2011. We were originally gonna go to a live Monday Night Raw in his city in Oklahoma, but his ride broke down coming to scoop me up. lol

To make up for it, he scored me 2 tickets to the Vengeance PPV that year. He's forever the man for that.

I'm crap at remembering names on the best of days, and doubly so when it comes to internet handles.

Having said that, I've met Ivey, and Machias, and Archon, and Canadian, and AndrewNDB, and I'm sure others....

Net, and BT- we all live in the same general area here in Tx, so it's possible we could meet IRL at some point. Dawnatello Turtle Chick is also local, so there's another we could get together with, though I've not seen her on lately.

XERO, are you in San Antonio? Maybe you're close enough, too. It's be cool if we could all set a day and just hang out together, maybe for FCBD or something.
