Do you have any addictions? :ohwell:

Other than TMNT, what are your addictions?
It couls be eating, drinking, a fandom, or anything else! :):ohwell:

Gunpowder 02-04-2015 04:54 PM

I'm a gym/fitness addict, but that's about all I can think of...

Katie 02-04-2015 05:30 PM

Diet Dr. Pepper. It's sad really

Powder 02-04-2015 05:34 PM

If anything, it's eating habits. Not hooked on any substances that aren't related to food. I did smoke for like 8 years but I'm a year & half cigarette free with no cravings or regrets.

Slade 02-04-2015 05:42 PM

I have a pretty bad addiction to coke...:o I'm talking about coca-cola actually.

pennydreadful 02-04-2015 06:40 PM

Well, we're all Turtles addicts, right? :tlol:

IndigoErth 02-04-2015 07:05 PM

Outside the Turtles, um... internet in general.

WoW a little bit, but certain Turtles have been a bit of a distraction from it for a bit starting with movie drama. Will prob get back to that a bit more again at some point.

I also seem to be pretty into that oxygen stuff.

Donnieangelo 02-04-2015 07:14 PM

My Wiggles addiction might be starting to come back to me again. ALL THIS NOSTALGIA!

Oh, and I also have an addiction for collecting vinyl records. I guess it's time to start dusting off my record player and starting playing them again!

How could I forget the internet? :tlol:

Gotta wonder where I really do stand with it, though. I spend most of my time at home, on the computer (though not always online, often times I'll be working on art or gaming), but I'm not like the average person who's constantly checking their phone for social network notifications & the like, & to me, that's what makes the distinction between addiction, & enjoyment. I'll go spend a week at my homeboys house recording music, drinking, going out, etc. & I'll glance at the cpu (which is there for music purposes) once or twice at the end of the day maybe, to check the drome & my email, but I don't go crazy not being on it. I rely on it heavily, for many things, but I can survive when the wifi is on the fritz or I'm traveling (without a smartphone, mind you!).

snake 02-04-2015 09:14 PM

Lots of stuff. Eating, toy collecting, constantly wanting sh*t.

Leo656 02-04-2015 09:35 PM

This is insanely personal and nobody is ever going to be completely honest about it.

Like, if someone here is tapping a vein, they're going to spill it to the whole forum. As if.

pennydreadful 02-04-2015 09:40 PM

Well, according to a test I just took on the internet, I'm not addicted to the internet.

Slade 02-04-2015 09:48 PM

Let's see what all I'll admit to.

Sex..though I've been having withdrawals...

Nicotene. But these ecigs are doing me good

Said Coca-cola

Chocolate. I have to have chocolate every day.

I would say I am addicted to social media. I check it constantly..though I don't have much to do anyway..or any one to actually talk to...

The Drome. I'm on here everyday too, whether I post or not.

Used to be addicted to games, but with no home internet (the f*ckers won't come out there) I kinda stopped playing.

Pain pills/adderral..they ain't mine, but they might as well be.

pennydreadful 02-04-2015 10:16 PM

Actually, I'll admit to having trouble in the past with my alcohol intake - I went through a patch where I was drinking heavily as a coping mechanism (for reasons I won't go into), but it's under control now.

Does an addiction to fanfic count? :tlol:

Leo656 02-04-2015 10:44 PM

I've been accused of having an "addiction" to porn, but I spend zero money on it and out of an average month I look at it maybe ten minutes total, so I hardly think it counts. It used to be more but that was a long time ago. I do talk about it a lot but in truth I'm mostly being colorful.

ssjup81 02-04-2015 11:30 PM

Milk! *gets strange looks* No, seriously! I do! I LOVE milk! I can drink a liter in a day without any problem at all. It's like after one gulp I want more. I'm a "milkaholic". lol It's best for me not to even buy milk. I shouldn't drink so much.

ProactiveMan 02-04-2015 11:59 PM

I used to be hooked on Pepsi Max, but I kicked that five years ago with extreme prejudice. It sounds dumb, but I had the shakes for three days, no joke. I have to kill ice-coffee soon because I consume that with concerning regularity.

B-Man 02-05-2015 12:57 AM

Buying action figures. This is a new development, only really kicked in the last 12 months. I stumbled across a movie-toy sale, bought a cart full and loved the novelty of it all. That was when it started. Then a mix of watching Black Nerd Comedy videos regularly (where he's proudly showing off his merch with glee) & frequenting sites such as this that accept your geek indulgences tend to make you a bigger geek. But it's to the point where if I've visited a mall, the trip feels incomplete unless I've bought some trinket or movie/TV-related merch (Turtles mostly). I'm worried cause I don't see this slowing anytime soon at all. I'm 30 for f*cks sake.

The internet. Specially when you find yourself just watching random Youtube just for the sake of it.

Drawing. Frequently get the urge to just doodle something.

Chocolate. Can't go a day without at least a bite.

Sex. If I haven't seen my girl in over a week, it feels like an issue.

Water. I have to skull a 1.5 liter of water before I go to sleep everynight. Not a bad habit, I guess.

TV/Blu-Ray Player. We had a 48-hour power cut here a few months back and the no-TV thing was affecting me. ( this is all first-world problems but legit addictions)

Here's one that I used to have, but no longer do; and I would give anything to get it back.

TheBlueTurtle1 02-05-2015 01:34 AM

Peanut butter! and Milk

Prowler 02-05-2015 03:03 AM

The Internet. I find it hard to go a whole day without it. Although I'd get more **** done if my internet connection was off for about a week. I'd read and study more. And also exercise more often. Yep, definitely addicted.

I also have a small addiction to caffeine. Nothing big but I feel that my brain needs its morning cup of espresso to function properly. I find it harder to focus on work and school if I don't drink coffee. It's not liek I was suffering physically, it was more of a mental thing, you know? "Man, I could really use a coffee".

Mew 02-05-2015 05:41 AM

Drawing.
If I don't have paper, I'm SOL.

blindturtle02 02-05-2015 09:11 AM

Red meat. Haven't had any in about two weeks and already lost four pounds. So I guess I'm doing alright. I don't think I could go without meat entirely so I've been doing a chicken breast every evening. Baked of course. My exercise bike is also helping.

JetsAndHeels 02-05-2015 01:13 PM

Collecting toys/action figures-It is a hobby, but also a way of life. I really need the distraction, so I am constantly in the cycle of going to stores, buying, opening, then it repeats itself. What troubles me even more is sometimes when I go to a store and there is nothing new, I may buy a double (or even triple) of something I already have. I also collect Transformers, so a lot of times I want more than 1 of a figure in case I break one or I need it to display in a different mode. I think this could be a hoarding situation.

The Internet-It has already been said here, so I don't have anything new to add.

My smart phone-I can't really go anywhere or do anything without it. I seem to always have it in my hand or nearby for when I want to check facebook or upload a picture to instagram or something. I don't like phone conversations, so texting is a great alternative.

Diet Pepsi/Caffeine-Every morning it's a Diet Pepsi or I have a headache by 9:30 or 10. Then at lunch I have one. Then after work. Then at dinner. Then after dinner when watching TV or whatever. I like having a drink with me at all times if possible.

Sweets/chocolate-I can't eat a meal without finishing it with something to ease my sweet tooth. I have always been like this. Some people can just eat, then go about their business. I have to have something to serve as dessert or it just feels incomplete.

MsMarvelDuckie 02-05-2015 01:59 PM

I biggest addictions? TMNT, Dr. Pepper, and the Net. Also writing. I almost literally CANNOT go more than a day without writing SOMETHING. It's a compulsion for me.

It took me forever to give up Dr. Pepper but I finally quit two and a half years ago. I still miss it. Well, I do have one whenever we go out to eat around twice or three times a year. I'd drink diet but it just doesn't taste the same! I switched to coffee because it contains less calories. I only use two teaspoons with my two cups each morning. It's good, but I still miss Dr. Pepper. I wonder if Jester is still a DP addict. We both were in our college days. That's for sure.

Leo656 02-05-2015 03:36 PM

After quitting soda a few years ago I literally cannot understand how anyone could drink it. And I was BAD, way worse than anyone. Now, if I even try it, I literally feel my guts rotting, the acid welling up in my throat, and I feel a sticky film crawl across my teeth, and I immediately need water and lots of it. That sh*t's beyond gross.

Yes...but I dink a lot less now that I don't work at a grocery store which was really bad at enabling. Now I only drink it once or twice a week...as opposed to once or twice a DAY!

I usually wait to "dink" until I get home, I don't like doing it in public.

blindturtle02 02-05-2015 03:54 PM

Thanks Leo. Now I got this in my head. Or should I be blaming Jester? haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCApeXCE0W8

Yeah, I've never liked soft drinks. Even as a kid I hated em...I think I've drank a total of a few sips throughout my lifetime.

lindz247 02-05-2015 05:09 PM

I don't do soft drinks. Sometimes tea but when I go to a restaurant I always get water. I think I might be addicted.
And TMNT- a yes for all of us.

Icebot 02-05-2015 05:20 PM

I'm addicted to the Internet and junk food.

I only drink diet.
No, not because I'm chunky :/, but regular sodas are too darn sweet.

Donatello19 02-05-2015 05:31 PM

Probably the internet, and as far as food goes, sweets.

lindz247 02-05-2015 05:33 PM

YES way too sweet!
But once in a blue moon I'll drink root beer.. love it but it's never available!

Man, I haven't had root beer in years! I used to love it...

blindturtle02 02-05-2015 06:16 PM

There's this really awesome root beer I can't find anywhere in TX. Yes, I enjoy that every once in a while. My favorite is a brand called Iron Horse. Fantastic stuff. Oh, I forgot that I'm addicted to pizza and of course TMNT. Haven't had pizza in ages though. I miss it.

BlueKatanas 02-05-2015 06:31 PM

I used to be seriously addicted to diet soda (any kind). Made a serious decision to kick the habit back in October and haven't had any since. We'll see if it sticks, lol.

Never heard of Iron Horse, but I LOVE IBC. Aside from DP, root beer is the only soda I usually drink. And forget the knock-off DP brands- they all suck. Won't touch them. If the real thing's not available, I'll either drink root beer, tea, or RC Cola. I'm also very fond of hot cocoa or hot apple cider. And the McD's mocha frappe's. THOSE things are addicting as heck, along with the strawberry crème pies! And now I've gotten hooked on the Taco Bell Cinnebons. So sweet and yummy!
