Were Archie's Bebop and Rocksteady gay?

You know, just a thought.

They identify more with their animal side than their humanity, so they resent feeling restricted by clothing. To suggest that they're gay just because they can be nude around the same sex is mondo bizzaro, dude.

Allio 04-13-2015 03:38 AM

well according to muh fanfiction sites...

What about Rocksteady's bedroom eyes?

Mew 04-13-2015 06:02 AM

Yes, we all knew it.

CyberCubed 04-13-2015 11:04 AM

I think Murphy forgot that Bebop/Rocksteady were humans before mutation. He kept writing them as if they liked being with their "animal kind" and enjoyed setting animals free.

That said Archie had a decent send-off for those two being on an animal planet. Better than the original toon which just had Bebop/Rocksteady lost somewhere in Dimension X between Season 8 and 10.

I agree, both on Murphy forgetting and it being a nice send-off. Although I think he might not have been very fond of the characters, considering that he might have forgot about their origin and the fact that he got rid of them.

Jephael 04-13-2015 05:00 PM

Hey for all we know they could've been bi-sexual.

Jester 04-13-2015 05:01 PM

Athletes share showers after the big game.

All athletes are gay.

:tlol:

Now that you mention it, this reminds me of something funny that happened to me and a buddy last summer at the shore. We were on one of these rides that go around in a big circle and it kept going faster and faster like a centrifuge, and the force caused me to be pressed against him. Later on my pal was like "I sure hope nobody got us on video."

CyberCubed 04-13-2015 05:36 PM

Whenever people talk about Bebop and Rocksteady as mutants, I honestly wonder if they kept their human reproductive organs after mutation. Since they were previously human, and their whole bottom torso's still fit into human pants, do you think they still have their human "junk?"

pennydreadful 04-13-2015 05:39 PM

I can't give a straight answer on this question.

Look it's 2015. I'm not judging anybody. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

She'll.

And yeah, that was terrific.

pennydreadful 04-13-2015 09:54 PM

LOL it's all good; since I ID as genderfluid anyway, I'm not really bothered by whether people use male, female or gender-neutral pronouns for me - whatever they're comfy with, I don't really care either way. :P

Dang, I forgot! I did know that... I just never recognize the red character in your banner and for some reason it makes me think of a guy. :toops:

At least in fanart April has found out that they have human junk, not always of her consent though. Then there was some weird-ass manga where one of them had 'junk' that looked like a drill for whatever reason....

Joey Kamikaze 04-13-2015 10:52 PM

I blame all of you for this.

honestly though.... those 80's valentines day cards didn't help matters any.

You remember those, doncha Leo? I'm not kidding either. Can anyone post a screencap or something of those Bebop and Rocksteady Valentines Day cards? I guess they decided they had to dedicate a few cards to the bad guys too and not just the turtles.

Leo656 04-13-2015 11:20 PM

At my school the villain cards were for the people you only gave Valentine's cards to because you had to.

"I don't like you, for reasons that make no sense because I'm 7. But if I don't give you a card the teacher will keep me after school. So here, have a Krang. Happy Valentine's Day. You're still a poop nose." :tlol:

neatoman 04-14-2015 02:41 AM

Valentine's cards?

http://www.11points.com/images/valentines/tmnt.jpg

... Yeah, it's pretty hard to see that as platonic...

Leo656 04-14-2015 02:46 AM

Especially since you can't see where their other hands are.

I mean they don't exactly have a lot of room.

And the look on Rocksteady's face.

Ahem.

Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaah.

TigerClaw 04-14-2015 09:29 AM

They are not gay, But they always been known to have, some kind of Bromance, they are always together when the Shredder gives them a job to do.

The Nickelodeon version doesn't seem to portray them that way, But the IDW comic does.

You don't know them, so don't speak for them. :trazz:

Prowler 04-14-2015 11:14 AM

They're as gay as Jay and Silent Bob from Clerks are, I'm guessing.

Leo656 04-14-2015 11:26 AM

So... totally?

CyberCubed 04-14-2015 11:29 AM

Bebop and Rocksteady have what's called a, "Bromance." They're best buddies for life, but I don't think they were ever gay.

In fact I don't think Bebop and Rocksteady ever showed any sexual preference for anyone in any series they've been in. They've never shown to be interested in girls (although I think IDW hinted this?) but never any guys either.

Then again the concept of romance in TMNT is barely ever brought up.

Would you consider Bebop and Rocksteady to be, Asexual?

Leo656 04-14-2015 11:59 AM

I don't see how anyone is arguing this when they clearly posed for the photo on those greeting cards.

Bebop's even got his formal "Going to a wedding" shades on. Classy.

plastroncafe 04-14-2015 12:02 PM

Bromance - A word made for insecure straight guys afraid people might mistake their friends for lovers.

CyberCubed 04-14-2015 12:04 PM

Well males can have a best friend they care for deeply but not in the romantic sense. If you have a male friend you've known for years and years it can be a bromance.

Leo656 04-14-2015 12:10 PM

Look, what's a playfully enthusiastic pat on the penis in the middle of a spirited basketball game with close friends, anyways?
