TMNT #45 Preview & Discussion
Preview here.

Too many threads, but I'm sticking with traditional Poster.
Man, only three pages, but they sure have feels. Poor baby. ;_; I'm super excited to see Donnie sit down with Teng Shen. I've wanted some thing like this for a while. |
Quote:
Not too much of a leap to assume anything beyond these 3 pages constitutes a spoiler as to how Donnie's condition will be resolved. |
So he is indeed

I'm so excited to be really sad. |
I don“t know if you guys have already seen those images (big spoilers), but just in case:
https://salondelmal.files.wordpress....pg?w=520&h=242 https://salondelmal.files.wordpress....pg?w=520&h=368 I saw them from this spanish article: http://salondelmal.com/2015/04/24/es...ortugas-ninja/ Spoiler:

seriously, these are huge spoilers.
Spoiler:
|
I sort of wish we had a ban on spoilers. I mean, official preview yes but that's from down the line and stuff I don't think was supposed to get out in the first place
|
You're right. This whole arc was ruined for me months agago.
|
Spoiler:
The Turtles look weird with their elbows and knees exposed. Seriously their wrappings are all in reverse now. |
Really can't wait for this issue. I was extremely let down and disappointed with the fact this issue was pushed back two weeks.
|
4 more days, goodness it's so long...
|
CANNOT FREAKING WAIT.
So apparently Bludgeon and Koya are coming after the Turtles to avenge their master? |
Usually I don't trip about spoilers, but this one was pretty major. The ending of #44 would've hit a LOT harder if I hadn't seen the FCBD preview/spoiler. Now I have to wonder if I would've suspected that Donnie would come back or if I would've just thought he was gone forever
|
Yeah, another reason to hate Diamond.
|
Finally its the day before this comes out. Feels knda surreal
|
This week is so crazy.
The #44 cover I bought is shipping this week. #45 comes out tomorrow. Cory Smith is gonna be at my LCS for FCBD on Sat. Kinda freaking out. |

I don't think there was ever any question Don would live. It's the same as when Superman supposedly died... Or Batman, Spiderman, Deadpool, etc... Awareness of the medium prevents belief in major shifts like that being permanent.
Besides, Don was the only survivor in the future issue, and there's little reason to think the turtles have managed to avoid that outcome just yet. |
Wow!!! What an intense issue, I was shaking and I could not put it down, I was so into it. I loved it and wished it had more pages. I read it 3 times before I went to bed last night.
Heavy Spoilers Spoiler:
Brilliant Issue, I can’t wait for the next one. |
Downloading my book on ipad. Just a few seconds, doesn't take even a minute.... :tlove:
Ah, technology. Thank you God. :D Spoiler:

This issue was not so good because it didnt have enough action. But finaly Stoclman is working for me again!

Shredder's just bitter cause Stockman has the upperhand on him. His fly robots scare you, huh? :P
|
Anyone else find it funny Tang Shen is wearing purple this time around? So appropriate given the Turtle.
|
I dunno if anyone else realized this, but I figured out that the reason the covers for this arc have those red sections on them.
That's how Metalhead/Donnie sees!! Oh, also, what's this arc's title? |
Quote:
As for the title, I don't think it's been officially confirmed but most people (myself included) seem to be believe it's called Vengeance because of the title of the FCBD issue and have been naming the arc as such for quite a while. IDW might as well go with it. |
FCBD doesn't have a printed title in it. It just says FCBD 2015 on the cover

The issue was very emotional for me. I actually cried while I was reading it on the iPad. I could never imagine that I could be so touched. |

Can I just say that I loved how Donatello's life was saved by a combination of spiritual guidance and extraterrestrial super-science? It's really indicative of how well Waltz and Curnow have been toeing the line between the supernatural and the technological, and how they might be fundamentally the same thing. I loved the irony of Fugitoid talking to Donnie about the scientific basis for the soul during the Krang War arc, then being forced to put that theory into practice with Donnie himself to save his life. Brilliant bit of foreshadowing there.
I also loved the bit with Casey getting some licks in on the Purple Dragons. It was great seeing his return to fighting form. If I was a more prideful person, I'd almost think it was a direct response to the recent grumblings of some Technodrome members! I definitely prefer to see him dealing out punishment than having it dealt on him too much. |

I think it's more a case of Shredder seeing that Stockman has resources... resources that Shredder can use to hunt down the Hamato Clan.
Vengeance before all else, in Shredder's mind. But man, Stockman has balls of titanium standing up to Shredder like that! It would seem he's learned a few things since vomiting on General Krang's boots... :tlol: |
