Official Ep Discussion: S3 Ep16: "Clash of the Mutanimals"
Happy first weekend of May!
So, the Mighty Mutanimals are going to find themselves in the clutches of Shredder and his goons. What kind of torture are they going to be put through? Could we possibly see some test runs of this mind-control serum we keep hearing about? We've got 12 hours to go, let the speculation begin! |
Yeah, I could see them being under some mind control along with Raph, I bet the end of the episode will be a little tease for Mondo Gecko. :)
|
Man, I am so pumped for this ep! It's gonna be hard for me to get any sleep tonight!!!
|
Pretty excited. I hope Dark Raph lasts for a few episodes.
|
I've got no means to watch it from the UK, but I CANNOT WAIT to know what happens. Please could someone post a synopsis (under spoiler tags of course)?
|
4 Hours!!!!
|
Just under 3 hours to go and I haven't got a livestream, the one I used last week doesn't work this week and someone on another stream, decides to put up a Nicktoons livestream. Why do they do this to me and on this day too :x
|
I can't watch it right away either, but can someone please tell me, without any other spoilers, if Dark Raph is just a one episode thing or if it'll be ongoing? Thanks! When I do watch the ep, I don't want to be expecting too much, if that ends up being the case.
|
MUTANIMALS!! Yay :D :tlove:
I love em in IDW, if only they'd add Old Hob in this show. :P And that hermit krab thingy. And they apparently have better use of Mutagen Man in action in the comic, instead of useless Timothy eating dust somewhere in storage. |
Mutanimals means Pidgeon Pete too right? *sigh* Did i hear right that there is Dark Raphael? Sounds interesting! And did Shredder already finished this mind controlling serum?

It looks like i'll be waiting for Anime flavor to upload it. |
Almost time.
Here we go! |
I'm going to have to dissapear for a while and dig myself a hole and hide in it for a few hours :cry::x:x
|
Not even the Mighty Mutanimals can take on TigerClaw.
|
I'm saddened about how the four Mutanimals couldn't even beat Tiger Claw. Then again he is second in command of the Foot.
Splinter just got pimp-smacked. |

Good episode, and Mondo Gecko next week. |
So, Ramboraph is right, Raph can't get have a solo episode without his "anger" being the trigger that get's him in trouble. And then super Leo comes in and saves the day. Yeah, I think I'm done with the show.
|
Haha, nice nod having Mondo Gecko/ Robbie Rist yelling Cowabunga
|
I'm so pissed right now. This could've been a great story arc.

So the dark Raph situation just lasted 1 episode? :/

Loved the Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan reference to the mind control leeches.
Very well played. |
It was a decent episode... I was just way too hyped from the rumors. I don't even know why that guy leaked "dark Raph" when it was such a minor thing. :ohwell:
Mondo Gecko looks fun. |
Decent episode, but...
I'm usually not one to complain too much about the nick show, and I'm usually happy with most that they do, but I think they kind of dropped the ball on this one. There could have been so much potential with dark Raphael, and I thought they were going to. The way shredder was basically training raph to fight with no mercy, I thought we might get a full dark Raph arc. But we ended up only getting 1 fight between Raph and the turtles. But I think what bothered me the most was how they ended the mind control. Again, I was really hopeful it would last, the way raph said something to Leo about "his words not doing anything" but no. All they had to do was slightly upset raph and the mind control stopped. Just kind of disappointed because the dark Leo arc in the comics was incredible and epic in every way, in this show could have matched it. |
I haven't seen the episode yet, but judging from the comments the Dark Raph plot is already over? :ohwell:
Darn, was really hoping for more, but I guess we got ourselves way too hyped up... :tgrumble: |
And this is what happens when you learn about something in advance.
"SSS" Spoilers Seriously Suck If you learn about something confidential, it's best you keep it to yourself. |
What an empty unfulfilling episode. Raph gets crapped on yet again and surprise, surprise Leo saves big Ol' mean Raph from himself. Yep the writers hate Raph. That's pretty obvious. I don't think I can watch this garbage anymore.
|
Welp, goodbye Raph fans that are quitting after that one. (And how much will people complain that it was Leo who, uh, I suppose used the power of harassment to get Raph back to his senses.)
Decent, not too much stood out to me personally (other than asking myself why Shredder sunk into the floor and became surrounded by fire lol), but not much in the way of complaints either, just middle of the road episode. But the worms were kinda nasty. They really could have extended that plot line though... Missed opportunity to make it a good cliffhanger. Of course... I suppose they could try to catch us off guard and that isn't the real Dark Raph episode. Doubtful, but one can hope. |

If he was gone for 2-3 episodes, you'd have complained even more. Goodbye, see ya next week. |
So it was more like a blip of an episode to foreshadow what we already expected was going to happen to Kairi (looking forward to her staying captured then brainwashed and evil for a while being dragged out  ) then an actual arc for Raphael like it was for Leo in the comics.
Waste of plot potential or any remote character development for Raph though not really surprised to be honest. I wasn't expected it to be exactly like the comics, though I didn't expect it to only be one episode either. |

Oh yeah, The Shellraiser is back.
|
I liked Leo telling Raph to finish The Shredder when he had him pinned. It feels like he realizes there's only one way this can really end, someone's gotta die.
|
I liked the episode, but I'm so pissed off. Even in a Raph centric episode, Leo had to be the hero. A Dark Raph would've been one of the best storylines yet, but they just made it into a one-episode thing. That's really a waste of potential. The writers need to realize that each Turtle needs an arc, not just Leo and Donnie.
On a brighter note, can we just talk about how Shredder took on the Turtles and the Mutanimals and still kicked some major butt? |
