Meh. The score sucked... his Iron Man 3 score sucked, too. Not impressed.

Well, sh!t. He's an awful composer.

He's good at themes, like Iron Man 3 and Thor, but sucks at creating actual music.

Shark_Blade 05-05-2015 05:19 PM

His score from the 1st movie is great imo. Good news!

Nobody takes you seriously anymore, dude. I think I was the last.

You're either:

#1. A plant
#2. On some kind of outrageous happy pills

If #2, I would be interested to know what you're taking... :tlol:

How dare you have a different opinion!

TigerClaw 05-05-2015 05:37 PM

His score for the 1st film wasn't that bad.

I would like for the classic theme, to somehow be incorporated into the score for the sequel.

bushido 05-05-2015 05:41 PM

 Oh Bryan, I saw what you did there !

That score is quite nice but quite generic... why didn't Platinum Dunes go with Jablonsky? That guy's stuff is GREAT and they've used him for all four Transformers films.

Noone cares what you think, my opinion is mine. Hating on people cause things doesn't agree with your views? Ha! You're behaving like a big baby that needs a change of diaper. Peeing and soiling yourself like an idiot, crying and stamping your feet, then attacking other people cause you don't get what you want.

And you're either:

1. A smelly old sock
2. A toilet seat

Must be #2 cause you're so full of ****.

Well this was some disappointing news.

Yes, yes, and yes. See, that Iron Man 3 theme is pretty good. It's just the rest of the music that's unbearably lackluster.

No wonder he ripped himself off for TMNT.

Really? You think so?

I guess you don't listen to a lot of film scores then...

His TMNT theme is very generic and not even too representative of the turtles. The TV shows have much better music than the 2014 film does.

That's cute. :tlol: Seriously, I could just pinch your cheeks.

Leo656 05-05-2015 10:07 PM

That f***in' guy.

NYShell 05-05-2015 11:03 PM

Ughhh. Brian Tyler sucked. His score was so bouncy and cheesy. It was sooo bad.

Megatron 05-06-2015 12:28 AM

why couldn't Bay just get Jablonsky..

brian tyler sucks a**

Candy Kappa 05-06-2015 01:26 AM

I've liked his scores in some movies, but TMNT was a snooze fest.

massakre 05-06-2015 08:16 AM

His score for TMNT was okay, but somewhat generic.. almost like it was "manufactured".. it was missing that "umph" or something to separate TMNT from everything else. I feel like that score could've been slapped on a direct-to-dvd superhero movie.

Direct-to-DVD comic book movies still have better scores.

Have you heard "Under the Red Hood!?" That is MINDBLOWINGLY good. :teek::tcool:

chrisdude 05-06-2015 11:42 AM

I still play tracks from that score all the time. Probably daily.

jenna 05-06-2015 02:51 PM

The score in film 1 was a little flat at times, and a little too noticeable at times. That said, there were some great moments. I love the TMNT March and the Foot Clan tracks. For me it was fine. I've got no issue with him returning for film 2.

I can't say I have.. I own the movie so I'll have to check it out! :tgrin:

slashpieturtlemix 05-06-2015 03:48 PM

I think its cool :) I like consistent music tracks so the new one will have a slightly similar flavor!

Foombamaroom 05-07-2015 08:21 PM

If he did the score in the style of Buck Buck, I'd be a lot happier.

Also, less choir. TMNT doesn't seem like it needs all of that choir. His music contrasted with the tone of the film so much. When the situation was light, he'd have dark music, and vise versa. It didn't work.

That's all true, & you know what might be partially at fault, to be fair? The trainwreck editing/reshoots situation. He scored a film that had mutated foot soldiers, a Karai/April fight scene, ritualistic suicide, big battles, April & Raph sneaking around in Times Square, etc. not exactly what the final product was. Or at least I assume that's the case... I dunno the process all too well.

I'm not sure, but I'm relatively positive film composers only compose once they see the "final" draft of the movie. Like, King Kong changed composers a week before the film was released.

Powder 05-07-2015 10:48 PM

Well if that's the case, then no excuses! :tlol:

The main fault with Brian Tyler was that he wrote the entire score before they even started filming the movie. He had nothing to go on other than what he thought a Ninja Turtles movie should sound like. And holy crap, did he think wrong.

Powder 05-08-2015 07:33 PM

That's super stupid, if true. No wonder it did nothing for most of us.

MrTMNT2012 05-08-2015 07:43 PM

Hell yes! One of my favourite soundtracks of all time! :)

Good to see he's back.

Awww, yeah! That score is great!

It might fit the turtles pretty well, too.

Do we know this? Because it's pretty much never done that way.

Yeah. He said it himself in the Blu Ray extras.

Reminds me of how similar the Superman The Movie, and MOTU movie themes are.

Though, a better comparison would how similar the S:TM theme is to the Indiana Jones theme (both by John Williams).
