|
Sounds like a bootleg to me.
|

Do you have a figure with a rubber limb, as in you have opened it and the limb is flexible or is the limb just a different shade/sheen and you are assuming it is a different material?
I would assume it is that latter and the difference in appearance is the result of the plastic aging differently. |

So, you have them in the package, how are you sure it's rubber then?
Rubber arms Leo have been debated and debunked to death. |
Its definitely not rubber my dude. I didn't realize it was still in package. If anything it has aged.
|
post a pic if the figure is moc im pretty sure you have been falsely informed only "rubber" figures produced were the 88 figures (4 turtles, Shredder, Splinter, Rocksteady, Bebop) and only the heads were soft.
who did you get the figure from? probably the work of footballorangeguy |

Hey guys,
This is the Traag in question, I had it for a while and it has gone from me to Foxywba, rubber on the left and plastic on the right, photos taken in the same place in the same positions, visually the same material properties as the '88 rubber heads that everyone loves to mention, check them out for yourself and say what you think Attachment 9084 Attachment 9085 |

It's not rubber, it's degraded plastic. Fact. This whole "rubber parts" thing is Footballorangeguy's big bullsh*t scheme to convince morons into paying twice a figure's worth for one that is actually in lesser condition. So yes, everyone hip to that hates him.
|
he scams everyone charging 100+ for figures claiming they are "rubber" taking advantage of new fans
you can tell a hard plastic figure by a seam that runs along the sides where the 2 molds met in the injection process |

The rubber headed '88 figures (sans... April, I think? One of them didn't have rubber, if memory servers correctly) are the only ones to have a whole rubber appendage that isn't otherwise stated on the packaging. There are turtle variants that have rubber backpacks you fill with water so they can be used as squirt guns, but besides those kinda gimmicks, there are none. FBOG is just a scammer who falsely advertises.

There are no others. That's it, mane.

No one ever had a rubber head besides 8 of the original releases (April and Foot Soldier were always plastic heads). There is no such thing as rubber arms or legs on any of them. It's just the aging of the plastic that makes it appear that way.
This is just a gimmick some ebay sellers use to sell aged flawed figures, and sadly it has trickled down to some collectors actually believing it and seeing them as more rare and collectible. Open the figures, I bet they're not rubber. |

The "rubber" effect for non-rubber turtles is just degrading plastic....I have seen this a million times in multiple figure lines. I would consider them worth much LESS as they are a defect
|
Ok someone has to ask - what did you pay for this figure?
|
It's hilarious every time this topic pops up.
Must be a super-duper MEGA rare variant. |
agreed. We've had numerous threads asking this same question. Ive had one of the degraded plastic Leo's myself. His arms "looked" rubber but they totally are not. as everyone else had said, the 88 run is the only set of figures with rubber for an appendage (Namely the head). I assure u that tragg is plastic.
|
I never heard of a rubber traag in anyway but I heard about the sneaky fake rubber limbs guy. I also checked my rubber headed leo vs a plastic leo and there is a line that only goes on the plastic. I also checked all my rubber heads (only missing Bebop and Shredder) and its the same for them all. Pretty sure the line thing is concrete. There is no indication of it in any way.

Opening them & seeing for yourself is the only way you'll come out of this believing us, it would seem, so I suggest you do that if it's important for you to know.

Powder is 100% correct on this one, once the toy line became a hit they stopped producing rubber head figures and switched to plastic heads. This was common practice back in the day cause it was cheaper to produce figures with rubber heads, therefore if the line was a bust they didn't lose as much money

Anyone who tells you difference is lying to you. Its a cold hard fact and really isnt up for debate in my opinion. What Powder told you is correct. The chalky look on some figures is just the plastic degrading from time. It can be seen on other figure lines and just not TMNT. Open one for yourself and see but I can tell you its already been done and the big mystery has been solved but you can see for yourself if you want. Dont fall for these scams sellers on ebay. |
Well if we're talking FULLY rubber, there's also the Next Mutation turtles. But yeah, with just single parts being made of it, '88 only, that's the bizzzz~

Hence why the first 88 figures are called Soft Heads, and not Soft Arms
|
And if the variant did exist, people would have mentioned unboxed ones, because I'm sure they'd crop up every so often loose as well.
