Growing Up Is...

Getting a high rated comment on social networking site & groaning at the constant notifications rather than reveling in the attention/appreciation. :trazz:

Your turn!

Candy Kappa 09-02-2015 02:00 AM

Growing up is... Expensive.

Mortgage, student loans, so much expenses and bills.

BubblyShell22 09-02-2015 07:57 AM

Growing up is realizing that you never stop learning even after you've left school and that life is a constant learning experience until you die.

Toitlefan 09-02-2015 08:04 AM

Growing up is sacrificing your hard earned money on food and bills when you'd rather use it for comics and toys.

Speaking of toys, rather than playing with them they get proudly displayed instead.

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 09-02-2015 08:29 AM

Growing up is realizing most people are full of BS in one way or another.

plastroncafe 09-02-2015 10:48 AM

Growing up is the realization that your parents were making it all up as they went along.

Whatswiththeheadbands? 09-02-2015 10:50 AM

Better than being an adult

Prowler 09-02-2015 11:57 AM

Growing up is getting excited when you buy a new kitchen appliance.

Mew 09-02-2015 04:27 PM

Growing up is loosing all your childhood toys, or video games, that you sold for Red Bull, "interesting" magazines, and your lady friend. You then see on the vast world of the Internet that the ONE boring figure you hated or that ONE boring game you hated ,and never opened, is worth hundreds, or even thousands of dollars now. I bet you wished you saved that stuff, not for nostalgia, but the money you could buy groceries or pay your rent with.

That was deep.

Slade 09-03-2015 12:26 AM

One of the worst things I've ever had to do.

CyberCubed 09-03-2015 12:35 AM

I just hate the fact that time flies as an adult. When you're a kid and teen it feels time moves so SLOWLY, like you're just waiting for your next birthday and it takes forever to get out of school.

Then you hit your 20's and they magically fly by before you know it. I seriously can't believe my 20's are almost over...like it just flew by. What the hell.

Netkeeper 09-03-2015 12:40 AM

Should be ****ing illegal.

SophieDem 09-03-2015 12:10 PM

...realising how stupid were those things I worried about as an adolescent. In high school I worried about grades. Now I'm preoccupied with my documents needed for my studies and work.

Prowler 09-03-2015 01:56 PM

Growing up is realizing you knew jack **** as a teenager/young adult.

Powder 09-04-2015 03:02 PM

This is in the games section, supposed to be funny, y'all are just bumming me out. :tlol:

Not that I don't share the sentiments... :(

Zak The Neutrino 09-05-2015 01:01 AM

Growing up is having to watch the cartoons your kids want to watch instead of the cartoons you want to watch. :D

Candy Kappa 09-05-2015 01:09 AM

Growing up is buying the stuff you want without parental approvement, and playing video games whenever you want to.

Prowler 09-05-2015 03:55 PM

Growing up is gaining the right to elect the incompetent corrupt bastards that want to ruin your country.

Foombamaroom 09-05-2015 03:59 PM

Growing up is when you realize that all math classes from high school and up are pointless in most jobs.

BubblyShell22 09-06-2015 06:41 AM

Growing up is realizing that the things you thought would be cool to do when you grew up aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Growing up is realizing that you can't trust anybody but yourself in this world and the things you used to value and believe have no meaning anymore.

PangolinFeets 09-06-2015 11:40 AM

Growing up is...

Making your own dinners with foods you actually love. Dunkaroos and Shark Bites. **** you, mom.

Staying up all night and watching R-rated movies.

Driving to places you actually care about.

Buying all the toys parents said 'no' too. Check out all the $50+ action figures I have now, DAD!

Getting to be sexy.

Living under your own goddamn roof with your own goddamn rules.

Drinking.

Ordering pizza.

Sex.

Money.

Being an adult is the tits.

BubblyShell22 09-06-2015 04:02 PM

Growing up is optional. Growing old is mandatory.

You covered ALL the important points, right there. Sex, junk food, spending money on crap you want, and staying up all night because f*** "bedtime." :tlol:

MsMarvelDuckie 09-09-2015 08:21 PM

Growing up is....

Realizing that the old people jokes you used to laugh at are, in fact, true. And suddenly they aren't so funny anymore.... :tgrumble:

Jephael 09-23-2015 11:55 PM

Growing up is letting go of regrets and petty grudges.

Growing up is...

either the best thing of your life with fun and exciting opportunities or a scary thought.

Etsyturtle2 10-14-2015 05:02 PM

Growing up is having to face the fact that all of your seventh grade peers try to grow up too fast and do things like...
-say they're dating without a fraggin car.
- flipping off the teacher when he turns around
-cursing and saying things they shouldn't
-being whiners
- white kids talking like they're not
-screaming in class
-Calling each other "brr" ...seriously, wtf does that mean?
-Trying to sound cool.
-Badly recreating vines
-Getting f's and not caring
- being idiots.

Growing up is realizing that while the teen years were the slowest of your life, the rest of your decades are warp speed from here on out (far as I can tell so far) and you quickly wonder how you got to the age you suddenly find yourself at.

Prowler 10-14-2015 05:53 PM

Growing up is looking back in embarrassment to pictures of yourself from a decade ago.

I'd say the years before my teens were a lot slower, since it felt like it took two years to get to Christmas, summer break and my birthday. Although teen years were kinda slow at the beginning as well, due to it being a ****** portion of my life.

Correct about 20s. I was like 21 yesterday and now I'm one month away from turning 25.... damn

 I've been saying that exact thing for years.

Now it can't go slow enough and give me more time to shop.

And nowadays I couldn't give a damn about Christmas. I don't even bother setting up the tree anymore. The 24th and the 25th are those days where everything closes too early/is closed. Which can be annoying if you need something urgent or haven't bough enough food in time.

I bet I'll wake up one day and realize I'm 30. Oh well, you're technically young until you hit 40.

Candy Kappa 10-14-2015 06:27 PM

a year does go faster for you as you age, as a year becomes a smaller part of your life experience.

Like, when you're three years old, 1 year equals 33.33% of your life, so when you're 26, a year is 3.85% of your life. So generally with our comprehension a year goes much faster as we age.

BubblyShell22 10-15-2015 02:47 PM

Growing up is realizing that the older you get, the less fun it becomes.

Etsyturtle2 11-29-2015 05:59 PM

Growing up is getting to stay up till 7:30!:D

*crickets chirping*

I joke, '3' ...

Growing up, frankly, sucks sometimes, but the longer this brain is thinking, the longer this heart is pumping, I realize that you need to deal with the hard crap before you get to the good. It's like a stale donut. Without the icing...

Powder 11-29-2015 07:12 PM

Actually, life only gets worse.

Etsyturtle2 11-29-2015 07:15 PM

I know. But there are little highlights in life.
For example, you get to talk to me. how cool is that!?:)

Edit- Heh, I was expecting that response.

Powder 11-29-2015 07:16 PM

Like I said, it only gets worse.

IndigoErth 11-29-2015 07:20 PM

It's terrible, every time I hear some kid screaming out in public, esp while at work, I'm always quietly saying, "You think life's so terrible now, kid? Just wait, you haven't seen anything yet." :trazz:
