Would you like a 99 cheese pizza?
I don't care if Donnie said it's impossible to make a 99 cheese pizza, there are over 900 confirmed cheeses in the world so it should be possible to make a 99 cheese pizza. I don't care if all the flavors blend together and become unrecognisable, I know it's possible in theory and I want one.
How about you? Aren't you a little curious on what a 99 cheese pizza would taste like? |
I'm not so sure, some types of cheese are kind of nasty and depends on how that combined flavor comes out. :trazz: Or if mozzarella is still used as a base and the rest are included in small amounts.
Impossible...nah. (And obliviously some immediately set out to make it real. lol) Just use a pinch of each, include variations (i.e. cheddar and sharp cheddar), technically that would work. |
I'd eat it, sure.
|
I'm really hungry right now, so yes!
|
I think Donnie was on about the flavour not the ability to do it.
|
If offered, sure. But it's not something I'd seek out.
|
That'd probably be one hell of an expensive pizza, just to cover all the ingredients.
|
I'm going to say no. And this coming from a guy that lives in WI so you know I love cheese. :D
I had a 8 cheese pizza one time and I didn't like the way the flavors blended together. |
Pizza Hut makes some. We know because that pizza was in a Pizza Hut box in the movie. :tlol: So I would try it.
|
Hell yeah, sounds delish.
|
flavour will be unrecognisable, but hell with that, i´d like to try it!
|
The 99 Cheese Pizza... the terror and the nightmare that stalks lactose intolerant foodies everywhere. :teek:
|
I can already see the commercials.
"Introducing Pizza Hut's new 99 cheese pizza? Does your fat ass need a whole new way of gorging yourself with processed cheeses and bread? Well, don't worry, Pizza Hut's got you covered, bro! Now, for a limited time only, you can buy this at the movie theatre so you can watch TMNT 2 while you're eating it. WAIT. IT? As in singular?! Don't worry, we know you're buying at least 10 to fill up that gigantic belly of yours that looks like a balloon that's on the verge of popping! And, if you're lucky enough, your mammoth-sized body will begin deteriorating fast enough for you to die MID-TMNT MOVIE. How great would that be?! You wouldn't have to see that piece of **** movie, and we wouldn't have customers like you coming in and gorging themselves with 17 pizzas at once! It's a win-win!" |

I called Pizza Hut and tried to order a 99 Cheese Pizza. They had no idea what I was talking about. :tlol:
It's not my fault! The movie had the pizza in a Pizza Hut box! What was I supposed to think? That's false advertisement Bay! |
Hell yeah I'd try one. Though really, why don't we go one step beyond - let's have the 100 cheese pizza! With stuffed crust. And pepperoni. Actually, let's make this one of those pepperoni-stuffed-crust pizzas while we're at it! Still gotta have pepperoni on the actual pizza too though.
...Yes, I'm somewhat fat, what tipped you off? :P |

Having worked in a pizza place, I can tell you now that it really is impossible, for two reasons- one, they don't have the storage space to keep that many kinds of cheese in the first place, so it would go bad VERY fast, and would be too expensive besides, given the cost of some types of cheeses, and two, trying to COOK said pizza would leave you with a gloppy, undercooked mess that would (if you tried to cooking fully) be burned black around the outside, and STILL be doughy and droopy in the middle- in other words, it would be inedible because the amount of ingredients would make it impossible to cook properly. This is speaking form experience dealing with people who request an insane amount of toppings on their pies, folks..... Quote:
Indeed. Food cost alone would make it impractical and ridiculously expensive. I've had to do inventory on ingredients and make truck orders in a pizza place, and they have limited budget and space for that stuff, so it would require far more space and money than they can use for that. Quote:
That's only because Pizza Hut paid to advertise in the movie. They don't actually HAVE a 99 cheese pizza..... Also, given how some cheeses taste, I wouldn't try it. Some cheeses do NOT belong on a pizza! Quote:
Bay's an idiot anyway, and so were the writers of that scene. Having worked at a pizza place, I know that the more ingredients you add, the longer you have to cook it to avoid having a doughy middle- which would make the end result of THAT particular pizza inedible. Trust me, I've had to deal with people to try things like this- even having just as few as ten ingredients make the thing a doughy mess that usually ends up getting sent back.... |
No, and it sounds stupid anyway. But we're talking about Michael Bay, so it doesn't surprise me that something stupid like that came out of his head.
|
We all agree that Splinter was just BS-ing, right??
Besides, it would probably just taste like... cheese. I'd try it. And, a quick google search reveals this guy who went and did it, right away. |
Bet it was soggy as heck in the middle. Also, only way that could even remotely work is if you had premixed the cheeses (and could be sure of getting all 99 on the pizza in such case, or it's pointless), or just put a few shreds of each over the entire thing, but in either case, why even bother? you're not going to TASTE all 99!

Well it does serve a purpose, mainly in making the movie's budget. Companies pay the movie production co. to have their products used in the movie, like how they pay for ad time during tv.

Or he was lying the whole time and said that to get Mikey's attention which I think is most likely true. xD |
There's more to pizza than cheese...but yeah I'd try it.

I suppose Pizza Hut could cut corners and make one that "tastes like" 99 cheeses, aka cheese of some kind but entirely unable to be identified. lol As delicious as pizza is, there are some types of cheese that would just ruin it imo, and who needs that. :P |
Quote:
There's over 900 types of cheese so I think I could find at least 99 that taste good. :D |
Product placement is always going to happen in movies. In the original movie, they had their pizza delivered by a Domino's pizza guy even though Pizza Hut was doing the promotion.
|
Just wish they'd be a touch more subtle about it. Let it be there because it's things commonly known to consumers/users, lightly worked in so it might add to the relatability of beloved characters who then seem to like/use it too, rather than purposely making it super obvious we're being shown/told about it because sponsorship.
Like, I dunno, get these guys their version of [what we currently know as] the T-Phone; have Donnie refurbish some smart phones, mention the phone brand in passing in a natural context, there we go. But I digress, this is about the pizza. If Pizza Hut has their name in there again this time, maybe making the 99 cheese pizza available is unrealistic, but I at least hope for a collectable cup or something from them this time and they could find a way to play up the 99 cheese pizza thing with that somehow (even if it's just something fun printed on it) if it was to be mentioned again (though I have my doubts). Or they could offer a few more unusual cheeses available, if not the full 99. |
I'm lactose intolerant, and just a three cheese pizza ****s me up. So a 99 cheese pizza would probably kill me.

Speaking as some one who spent several years making pizza for a living, I'd stiil have to see it before I'd believe anything in the article. Overloading a pizza just doesnt turn out well.
|
As long as it not Pizza hut I'd try it.

I wouldn't recommend eating too much of a 99 cheese pizza, not if you ever want to poop again. Or for the lactose intolerant; ever want to stop pooping.

Unfortunately for all businesses, we're blocking ads on our computers, skipping them on television, not buying magazines or papers, signing up for do-not-call registries and spam blockers... We've already deemed every other form of advertising to be offensive. Inserting the promotions directly into our content is probably the last thing they can think of. We're not really leaving them any choice.
