The revamped logo looks pretty cool. Don't think I've seen it before. It combines the blocking letters of the Mirage/Nick logos with the basic layout and color palette of the classic Playmates/Fred Wolf era.

Oooooh... I really like that new logo!

Candy Kappa 09-24-2015 12:33 PM

That's pretty cool.

it's a shame that Playmates have monopoly on anything remotely 1/12th scaled, seems like the Revoltech figures will be the only good TMNT figures we'll will get in that scale.

The Fifth Turtle 09-24-2015 12:37 PM

Do we know what universe is being used for the figures' designs?

tipet 09-24-2015 12:39 PM

I will wait until the NYCC to give my opinion. Not a big fan of the 1/6 scale, but if they are excellent figures and the price is not too bad, maybe I will go for them.

Evilcat005 09-24-2015 12:43 PM

To my understanding its the 80s cartoon universe.

tipet 09-24-2015 12:45 PM

I can't find info about DreamEx, please guys do you have any link with information about the company?

Thanks for the info! Can't wait to see them. Some competition for Mondo I guess, even though Mondo's are not strictly 80s cartoon.

TheMasterTurtle 09-24-2015 02:07 PM

Well I hope this succeeds for their sake. I am personally looking forward to them but between the mondo and threezero 1/6 scale coming out shortly I feel like they have a lot of competition right now.

Can't wait to see the final figures. They look more 2k3 by the bandanas- Mikey's beak kinda remind me of the original movie. Could we be getting Henson turtles? I guess that could be considered 80s verse.

Shame playmates keeps such a tight hold because there are many out there that would just kill for that 1/12 scale.

Candy Kappa 09-24-2015 02:28 PM

Suddenly 1/6th figures are popping up like toadstools. Kinda cool, even though I don't collect that scale.

we're getting 4 different lines, two by ThreeZero (PD movie and Eastman style), Mondo who we know they have plans expanding beyond just the Turtles, and now DreamEX, all different styles as well, which is really nice.

EddieNES 09-24-2015 02:48 PM

Ninja Turtles are draining my fundage. I might just start collecting Donnie with these special collector figures. Can't wait to see them.

Powder 09-24-2015 03:28 PM

Those silhouettes are definitely not that of Fred Wolf accurate turtles. Inspired, maybe, but they seem to be very much like 4kids turtles in build. An easy pass at this scale, regardless of their appearance.

There's no like button so.... "Like"

Jester 09-24-2015 05:41 PM

Look rather Dooney-esque.

Any images or news of the "Eastman style" from ThreeZero?

I'll literally take out a loan if I don't have money if these are based on the 2k3 cartoon... I need them in my life. o_o

Ninjinister 09-25-2015 01:05 AM

Alright and what's 1/6 in a scale identifier that most people understand?

Man I wish some of these lines were being done in the 6" scale!

I'm subbed for Mondo's TMNT but I'm excited to see how these turn out!

Hot Toys sized or Barbie/Original GI Joe height.

with 1/6th scale, it means that 2 inches represent 1 foot. So a 6 feet tall person would be 12 inches tall in that scale. So the scale is twice as big as the 1/12th scale where 1 inch equals 1 foot.

Evilcat005 09-25-2015 10:12 AM

Was the teenage turtles ever 6' tall in the show? They are around 5'5 or shorter. April is taller than them!

Not quite how scales work.

By, my previous post. 1:6th scale means that 2 inches represents 1 foot in real-life. So a 6 feet tall person would be 12 inches tall in the 1:6th scale.

The Turtles, ranging around 5 feet tall. Means that a Ninja Turtle figure in the 1:6th scale would be around 10 inches tall, 11 inches max.

It's basically just twice as big as the 1:12th scale, where in a 1:12th scale a Turtle figure would be five inches to five and a half inches tall, while Shredder would be around six inches since in that scale 1 inch equals 1 foot in real life.

Oh I see. Aren't there already several series at this scale?

Someone's explained it to me before and I never remember. Plus I can't math.

Let's see...

So far there's these, Mondo's, & 2 different series' from ThreeZero (One being based on new designs from Eastman & the other being Bayturtles). Then you've got the various 10-12 inch Playmates ones, & I thiiiink TLS did some 12 inchers too, but I dunno if any of those count.

Lol, seriously...If April is 5'5" in that image...the math really isn't that hard!
The turtles are easily 6 inches shorter or more -

So if they made 1/6 scale turtles, they should range between 8 1/2 to 10 inches, Max. No more.

Not sure why Mondo thinks their scale is correct. They're going to look weird next to other 1/6 scale figures, proportions will be funky.

Well, it's not as if we've ever in 30+ years had a properly scaled toyline anyway... :(

Just figured with Brock stopping in to promote them, a little feedback wouldn't hurt. No point swimming the ocean just to die on the beach, right?

Powder 09-25-2015 11:50 PM

No harm, but you're in the wrong thread if you want him to see it. :trazz:

Candy Kappa 10-08-2015 03:46 PM

Is this the DreamEX Turtles?
http://www.toyhypeusa.com/2015/10/08...okin-shredder/

They got some nifty details, and trench coat with a hat. That's pretty cool. Turtle com and Mikey's grappling hook.

go_ninja84 10-08-2015 04:38 PM

if thats them i may pass for the Figurarts new figures

Candy Kappa 10-08-2015 04:46 PM

Yeah, if you're not big on 1/6th scale figures, I'd say the Figuarts are the way to go, they're 1/12th scaled and will fit with other Figuarts, Revoltech, figma and Marvel Legends. Plus they'd probably a lot cheaper.

Off topic, but I have the book that that image is in!

Just folowing up with more pics from Kappa's link - I think they look pretty great, even if not exactly 2K3 accurate.

1/6th is the better scale IMHO.
