TMNT 2016 Action Figures

I know that this is a little too early for you guys, but what do you guys think about the upcoming TMNT figures that will come out in 2016? What toys are you most excited for? Do you have any information on any new upcoming figures for 2016? The only news for 2016 I know of are the following:
  • Muckman's release in 2016.
  • Human Karai's possible release on Spring 2016.
  • Lord Dregg and Mozar moving from Walmart to other stores.

So please, post some news you have for the 2016 figures.

I'm really hoping Nick brings in Ray Fillet. Voiced by this amazing man.

Chaotix12345 09-30-2015 06:05 PM

I hope Armaggon is released fairly early on, because I'm MEGA excited to own his very first figure. :D (Also, I hope Wingnut debuts in Season 4. It makes too much sense for him not to.)

It wasn't his name it was just a reference. They adressed this as Donnie rejected the name for Kirby.

As for some wants:

* Mona Lisa
* Kraang Sub-Prime
* Zog
* The rest of the Frogs
* Chrome Dome
* The Creep
* Accurately-Scaled Leatherhead
* Pigeon Pete

nellyp 09-30-2015 08:25 PM

I am surprised chrome dome hasn't been done yet. I thought at first it was because he only had the one episode but then he was brought back for a cameo in season 2. The fact that he has roots in the original toon and toy line means they could have capitalized on the nostalgia for older collectors as well as the new viewers too and they still could if they wanted too.

Ahhhh that would be awesome. Especially if he's a little doofy like a lot of his roles, but especially The Tick.

I think that those action figures would be very nice for people's collections. Especially Zog and Mona Lisa, since the Ninja Turtles are entering into space in Season 4. But I do think we need to see those two under the Dimension X toyline. Not only that, but more toys of the Triceratons (Zark, Zorin, and some soldiers and scientists to create an army) and also an Armaggon figure. Maybe even one if those Triceraton Ships (the ones that contain one Triceraton). About Kraang SubPrime, I agree we deserve more Kraang figures. While the Biotroid (a figure I wanted so badly) got cancelled, the Kraang Prime figure's status is unknown for now since they haven't mentioned any farther news on it.

I'm personally hoping for Bebop and Rocksteady's Van. I mean, there is a lack of villain vehicles in this series. Seriously, I'm okay with a bland, non teched out van.

SkolNation26 10-01-2015 07:04 AM

I think Renet and Savanti Romero would make for some cool looking action figures!

Prototype 10-01-2015 07:29 AM

I think we need Norman Kraangenhoffer/Agent Bishop

Huzzah 10-01-2015 07:32 AM

An Agent Bishop would be great, and incredibly easy to transform into Kraang Army Builders.

He'd be a pretty easy custom, eh?

I'm still waiting on the mutapets pack.

tipet 10-01-2015 08:35 AM

Well, I hope they revise the Classics line like they said back in the SDCC, and resume the work with Shredder and Krang to release them and more figures.

In the retro line I expect to get more characters, preferibly from 89 (my favourites) like usagi, Casey, metalhead, leatherhead, ace duck...

Talking about the nick ones, I just hope that Playmates make a similar work than 2014.

And the new film will helps to keep the turtles on top.

Savanti Romero was on display at SDCC (or Toy Fair?) so he is a possible 2016 release.

I do agree that we need more villains vehicles. I will for sure want to buy a Bebop and Rocksteady Van for my collection. I also think we need more human figures.

OrokuYoshiFilms 10-01-2015 12:01 PM

Purple Dragons
Pigeon Pete
Tragg
Biotroid
Chrome Dome
Sir Malachi
Po Chan
The Finger
Hun
Bishop

I think there's more than enough from this list to choose from. Doesn't have to be all of 'em. Realistically, it won't be, but Playmates has gotta give me something from this list or I'ma be pi-hi-hisssed. Come on dawg.....Dream Beavers?!? Big-ass-Leo-that-turns-into-a-sewer-when-we-have-THREE-sewers?!? I don't know who's picking the list, but no. (More specific Quote: VaughnMichael "No, just no.") I know Nick has announced some characters that'll more than likely get the figure treatment but whatever. There are old characters that need to be in figure form. I would gladly take a Po Chan a la Atilla with the old Mickey D's treatment. Hell, we already know they're gonna cheap out even more next year. At least choose some cool characters. I was actually enjoying collecting this line as it was my first (and probably last) actual serious collecting venture, (Y'know, hunting, checking up on releases, etc.) but they're leaving me little to hold on to. Won't even give you my spiel on villain vehicles and playsets. The human Karai witch hunt will be interesting to see unfold though....lol.

Huzzah 10-01-2015 01:54 PM

I'm surprised Sir Malachi hasn't shown up, the LARP Turtles could've used him. No Malachi, no Cluckingsworth, no Pigeon Pete (he needs a second mutation btw), Playmates is obviously Avianist (prejudice of birds) these days...

Um, we're getting Cluckingsworth.

Huzzah 10-01-2015 06:30 PM

Just because the prototype was shown, doesn't mean we'll be getting it.

The three pack with Cluckingsworth, Ice Cream Kitty and Spike is already listed on Target's web site. I'd say that the chances of them not doing them at this point is slim.

What's crazier - assuming that it won't or assuming that it will? Considering that more that we see is released than not, I would go with the former.

Powder 10-01-2015 08:08 PM

So far we've only had one figure not actually see release, Biotroid, correct? Not counting Classics.

Correct, Biotroid was the only figure to be cancelled. I hope Kraang Prime doesn't get cancelled. But, also there was Shredder Lair playset that was cancelled, only that it is a playset and not a figure. I was just mentioning the playset.

Really? Don't remember that one. I hope the cancelled ones get to be sold later on. Especially the Biotroid one.

Freeman 10-09-2015 06:30 AM

If they release Pedgeon Pete I'm defenitely getting the LARP set.

tmntfanuk 10-09-2015 07:21 AM

Human Karai is. a. must.

Does anyone know if Playmates are at NYCC 2015?

atreyu2112 10-09-2015 07:27 AM

Playmates was not at NYCC.

achung10 10-09-2015 11:43 AM

I mean, now we have to get Wyrm.

Powder 10-09-2015 01:41 PM

I will prolly buy Wyrm no matter how his paint/articulation is short-changed, I love that wacky dude.

METALHEAD 10-10-2015 09:06 PM

hope they improve the sculpt and articulation for the bay turtles for the 2016 film toyline.

Since this is Playmates this is my prediction on the consensus:

"Wow these TMNT 2 figures are terrible the figures from TMNT 1 were so much better!"

It's a depressing thought (especially since Movie 1 figures were nothing special) but just wait and see :P Because in my mind the trend is clearly towards a decrease in quality, not increase. Of course, even through this decline we have seen a few diamonds in the rough but it's not enough to change the trend.

Regarding TMNT2 figures the best thing Playmates could do is release the larger Classic-sized versions of them with the enhanced articulation and paint apps. This is what would please us the most. I still think the first round of Classic TMNT along with Bebop and Rocksteady are the best figures Playmates has made since Nickelodeon bought the franchise. I'm still at a loss as to why Playmates is not moving forward with that line because those figures sold out everywhere. How is that not a good sign?

Anyway we really need Pete so we can complete our Mutanimals team. Make it happen, Playmates.

Long as they have wrist swivel...and maybe different head sculpts lightly better than the first. *shrugs*

Playmates told me that Pigeon Pete most likely won't be made.

Minimates will probably have him.

If Minimates made a set of proper Mutanimals, like Rockwell with his gear, Pete being there, I'd cop.
