1987 and 2012 crossover!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYztL-L8w1I
We're almost done with the space arc, so who's excited to see the crossover of TMNT 2012 and 1987? :tlol:

CyberCubed 01-24-2016 07:31 PM

I thought you had new info, hm.

In any case it should be interesting especially with all the old voices reprising their roles and the original Krang returning and meeting Kraang sub-prime.

Mew 01-24-2016 07:31 PM

That's awesome, but could you resize your sig, it's too big!

Aaronardo 01-24-2016 07:31 PM

Excited? It's the only reason I'm still watching this show at this point (barring the spectacle of an episode this morning).
And just before anyone else says it, I think this post would be better off in the stickied Season 4 discussion thread :)

Powder 01-24-2016 07:40 PM

This is old news & your sig is too big.

IndigoErth 01-24-2016 08:36 PM

"The world is so flat I can't even see my own butt." :tlol:

This will be cute.

Side note, the Nicktoons commercials for the Turtles being on in the afternoons has a little blip of "87" Mikey that I've been wondering if it's from this. Or Turtles Forever (since that commercial is collectively TMNT stuff), but doubting it. It does also show "little Mikey" from last week's episode and had been in the same commercial before that ep aired, so... maybe?

Powder 01-24-2016 09:41 PM

Wait, whaaat?! Are you saying there's already finalized animation from this being previewed as a snippet in the general promos?

Zak The Neutrino 01-24-2016 10:43 PM

I'm really looking forward to this!

I take it back, I think. Found the commercial online, able to pause it now I realize 2003 Raph is behind Mikey at 0:21 so it's prob a shot from Turtles Forever.

Allio 01-25-2016 07:25 AM

meh, I'm burned out on 87 stuff. it's like trying to get pumped for MMPR-pandering now adays in Power Rangers...just been there, done that.

Yeah, definitely from Turtles Forever. There's even other shots from the film.

What I'm interested in is how they'll pull off the '87 animation style in a 3D world.

Jephael 01-25-2016 08:24 PM

Speaking of Turtles Forever, I'm kinda hoping they make some sorta sly reference to how 4Kids misinterpreted the classic toon.

NICK DON: "A multiverse with countless incarnations of us? Fascinating!"

NICK RAPHAEL: "So have you met any other versions of us?"

1987 DON: "Um no, but from what I learned apparently there were these other two worlds that crossed paths. One was... physically identical to us-"

1987 RAPHAEL: "Yea, but they had the combined IQ of a turnip. Frankly I feel sorry for anybody who thinks we're anything like those jokers!"

I don't think it would be like that....I think if Turtles Forever is mentioned at all...The OT Turtles would just say they have encountered other worlds where different versions of themselves exist. And leave it at that.

Maybe Mikey would comment about him wondering if there was an alternate universe version of him where he is a super hero.

Turnstone 01-25-2016 09:27 PM

I haven't been keeping up with when this episode is supposed to air. Has a scheduled air date been announced?

No, but the hour long specials are always mid-season features that air in March. I'd expect the same for this one.

CyberCubed 01-25-2016 09:41 PM

It also doesn't happen till the Turtles get back home from space, and we have another 7 episodes for that. Even longer if we go on another rerun break.

Well, atleast I didn't use any vulgar language this time.

Ugh... Look, the 80's cartoon might have a lot of nostalgic draw to it but it's not something anyone should even pretend to take seriously. Making fun of it is like making fun the 60's Spider-Man cartoon or Superfriends, it's better to mock a lame cartoon people only love out of nostalgia than prenteding there's any legimate redeeming qualities about it.

tmntsplinterfan1997 02-07-2016 05:27 PM

We're getting close to the end of the space arc. 1987 and 2012 crossover is almost after The Cosmic Ocean.

matteso586 02-07-2016 06:44 PM

I'm surprised that the 2012 Tutles don't remember spotting their 1987 counterparts back in season 2.

That would require actual continuity and not having plot amnesia.

Like in Wormquake / The Manhattan Project?

Exactly! Also, something tells me that the trouble 1987 Krang is causing has something to do with the Kraang worm that Donnie, April, and Casey sent.

Kingoji 02-08-2016 08:06 AM

Wasn't that Kraangworm killed when Tigerclaw escaped from it's belly?

Splinter the boss 02-08-2016 01:55 PM

What are you guys talking about ? I don't remember any 1987 turtles or krang back in season 2, I'm lost.

They were shown for a few seconds in the episode where Tiger Claw fell into their universe. There was also a small scene at the end of the episode where they all talked, it was done in flash animation.

Alright, I get it. Thank you.

matteso586 02-08-2016 06:42 PM

Looks like Splinter the boss needs to watch The Manhattan Project.

Prediction time! Either 2012 Raph or 2012 Mikey will joke about how 2012 Donnie and 1987 Raphael sound awfully alike. Then they deny it, then say "we sound nothing alike" at the same time. And there will be a flashback detailing the outcome of the 1987 Turtles' battle with Tiger Claw.

victory_angel 02-08-2016 08:24 PM

Well since it was 2012 Donnie who unknowingly sent the Krangworm to that Dimention...the 1987 Turtles might take issue with that.

Etsyturtle2 02-08-2016 08:36 PM

This is already a thread.

They didn't. We saw the '87 Turtles, but the only things from the 2012 dimension that saw the '87 Turtles were the Kraang Worm and Tiger Claw.

The 2012 turtles (and Casey and April) saw their '87 counterparts through that Kraang portal.

Kingoji 02-10-2016 08:58 AM

They saw them in the hall of portals when they were checking out all the different dimensions. Mikey said they looked lame, and Donnie drooled over April's jumpsuit.

Aaronardo 02-10-2016 01:00 PM

Oh, right. Haven't seen some of these older episodes in so long.

Where'd you hear that? I was assuming it'd be the 2-part season finale. Of course if that's the case, we won't see it until September.

superrobot74@vickytmntfan not the crossover.

originalartisticdoodles_byerinDo you all have a special idea for show # 100?

superrobot74@originalartisticdoodles_byerin show 100 is a very special ninja turtles
So cool that Ciro replied to me :D

I still have a feeling the crossover episode is episode 100, which will be episode 22.

tmntsplinterfan1997 02-28-2016 02:56 PM

Oh yes! The 80s turtles will be in Trans-Dimensional Turtles! =D

Powder 02-28-2016 03:02 PM

There is no confirmation of that.
