Got my foot tech ninja today....

I finally fund a foot tech ninja today(no nanobot tho), and he is now my favorite figure from this line. A lot better than my previous two favorite Casey, and Shredder.

I'll try to get a review up later today. (after the Pats, and Sox games :P )

Bry 10-05-2003 10:49 AM

Question... Is it exactly as the promo pics show it to be? As in, does it have the 'standard' leg articulation, or does it make use of the 'ball-joints' used in the first line?

My only concern is that the upcoming figures will essentially be statues...

cqb101 10-05-2003 11:16 AM

No ball joints...... :(

yes it is exactly as the promo pics show standard leg articulation
yea it seems like playmates is trying to make a ground breaking line into one thats just like all the other toy lines....
sad sad sad
but foot tech ninja is one of the nicer toys

That's really discouraging...

I mean, the upcoming figures really do look nice... And that's great, but I like to pose them around and generally enjoy them. The first wave was quite good for that, but it seems like Playmates is cheaping out and putting out 'bare-bones' figures instead.

I couldn't really get behind the old Hasbro Batman figures for precisely that reason. Leg goes up, arm goes up, head turns. Bored now.

Ahh well.

cqb101 10-05-2003 11:54 AM

IMO, the best part of this figure is the fact that he's slightly clear, to give the "invisible" effect....

Mr. Snackpants 10-05-2003 12:20 PM

It is one of the best figures, but I hate how his legs are positioned.

Kid Icarus 10-05-2003 12:31 PM

the junk armor turtle figs are really articulated, at least from what i could make out in the photos.

Jephael 10-05-2003 12:45 PM

Dunno if anyone besides me has the Nanotech Monster, but he's got these removeable parts that are kinda cool.

I remember reading they were supposed to have 32 points of articulation.

Sounds cool that they added a clear effect to the tech.

Hello everybody...Im brand new to this joint! Yea, just got my nanotech also...he's way cool!

Splinter 10-06-2003 06:59 PM

Just found the Foot Tech Ninja today also. Oddly enough, not one Nanotech monster. I can see where ball jointing would have been difficult on this figure, with the shoulder armor. But it's still a damn nice figure. And I was happy to see it still had more then the basic articulation. What with the elbow and wrist joints. :)

FALLEN ELDOR 10-07-2003 11:58 PM

The worst figure by far is Hun, just thank the toy gods not all of them will be that static!

Oh FYI, saw the Nano, no foot tech, didn't pick him up.

I cannot get hun to stand for the life of me!! Him and Teela are usually laying down somewhere next to the rest of their set. -_-

FALLEN ELDOR 10-08-2003 01:24 AM

I never had half the trouble with teela that i have herd from others, hun isn't so bad, just takes some time!

GK Punk 10-08-2003 01:27 AM

My Hun actually fell and took out the Foot Clan single handedly the other day -_- I came home and saw the foot clan all on the ground. I was about ready to blame Casey Jones for it, but he was still standing! (Er.. Maybe he DID take them out.. yeah...)

Seriously, you can get Teela To stand??

FALLEN ELDOR 10-08-2003 01:35 AM

Well, not for 24 hours straight or anything, but she stands fine for me.
How many foot did the big guy take down? er casey i mean

GK Punk 10-08-2003 05:37 AM

Shredder, Mousers and a couple of Foot Soldiers lol. Oh and he took out Hun to lol.

cqb101 10-08-2003 01:53 PM

Must be the way I have his legs positioned :-?

Snailman 10-13-2003 11:54 AM

Coolness, so what type of articulation does the Foot Tech Ninja have? Can he even sit down at least? :-?

PanMan 10-14-2003 10:16 AM

i actually like the fact that the newer figures don't have "ball joints" because the wave one ball jointed figures suck. the TMNT have almost no leg articulation and the foot soldier's leg articulation isn't that much better. shredder's is good, but limited because of the thing wrapped around his legs at the waist. i'd much rather have a fig where you can actually make him kick

BTW, i forgot to mention that the ball jointed arms are great. the only thing that bothers me about the arms are the elbow joints in some cases (ie. shredder's right arm, foot soldier's left arm etc)

::nods:: Yeah. I wouldn't mind the lack of arm articulation if the figures could actually sit down & stuff. I do recall it being a problem for the one ones also. Guess mutant turtles can't sit well? :-?

10 points - Head (1), Arms (2), Elbows (2), Wrists (2), Waist (1), Legs (2).
So yes, he can sit. Unfortunatly like Hun and April, he has a V-Crotch. So when you put him in a seated stance, his legs move further apart. A T-Crotch would have been a better choice, in my opinion. :)

Ah..the V-Crotch...my least favorite type of articulation. ::shrugs:: I dunno, I guess I liked figures back in the day when they made the figures, they took into account that they'd be sitting in/on vehicles. Now a days they seem to just make the figures & don't put much thought on their compatibility with the vehicles.

Thanks for the info Splinter. :)
