TMNT themed Nascar race coming
 

Mark yer calendars folks for Sept 18th for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 at Chicagoland Speedway! Seriously! :o There's gonna be a bunch of events that weekend and several of the cars will have the turtles on em. Danica Patrick will be driving the April O'Neil themed one. I don't like the paint scheme at all on it tho. Ugh. It's the Nick TMNT logo but it's OT April....with motorcycle goggles on...and it's obviously from the opening sequence where she's driving the turtle van.

I work with a handful of NASCAR fans. Might actually watch this one with them.

This is pretty cool! I'm a huge NASCAR fan and even own a 1:24 scale diecast of the TMNT-themed car that Jeff Gordon drove at Charlotte a few years back!

Sadly, with Danica involved I don't think April has much hope of a strong finish. :tlol:

I wonder if the other drivers will have TMNT cars, it would be cool seeing cars themed after the rest of the Turtles, Bebop and Rocksteady, Casey Jones, Krang and Shredder.

I don't watch a whole lot of NASCAR but this one I'll check out.

Haha, yeah, I thought they were mutant bug eyes or something before I realized they were goggles... which is weird because all NASCAR Cup drivers have to use full face helmets and no longer use the traditional goggles characteristic of the open face helmet era.

Kudos to Nick for actually featuring April when it probably would have been much more typical to just paste the Turtles on the hood. The Danica-O'Neil pairing gives it a little more distinction.

Yeah. There's gonna be a car for all the characters. Danica's was the first to be revealed. We'll be seeing the others shortly. The turtles are also on Danica's car tho. They're by the wheel wells near the bumper on each side and look like frogs with those stupid goggles on. :lol:

This... I'm torn on. I'm not a Danica fan, but I'm excited to see if any other cars might be given themes as well, like.... :D

Shredder = Jimmie Johnson? Kyle Busch? (my fave)
Leonardo = Dale Jr. (Seriously, who doesn't see this coming?)
Raphael = Kurt Busch? (I've heard that guy when he's on a tear... :evilgrin: )


...and Morgan Sheppard as Ice Cream Kitty. (Keeps him young. :P )

NASCAR Teams with Nickelodeon/TMNT
 

Last year the partnership states featured a SpongeBob Squarepants theme. This September, on the 18th drivers will have TMNT paint schemes and related events. It will take place at Chicagoland Raceway. Danica Patrick previewed her car for the event with a 1987 April with goggles on the hood of the car.

In total, it sounds like 8 cars will feature a TMNT-related design at some point during the weekend's events: Truck race, "minor league" cars, and Cup series, although most of the drivers other than Danica don't have much name recognition.

Also... judging by that Gallery, Danica Patrick's design may have changed from Fred Wolf April O'Neil to the Nick version. Kinda weird if that's the way it works out.

Years of doing it metaphorically on tv wasn't enough. Nick TMNT needing to find a way to literally make the Nick turtles crash and burn.

The TMNT 400's actually been going since before the Nick buyout.

You don't need to barge into every thread on the series to make some negative quip. We get it, you hate it. It's reaching you-know-who levels of repetition.

Just saw on snapchat that Cipes will be there. I'm assuming more cast and crew, too.

What if Greg Cipes ends up being the guy that yells the "Drivers! Star Your Engines!"

I like those car designs.

I don't know anything about Nascar Race probably because it's a US sport and I've never seen air on TV here in the UK.

The only motor sport I follow is F1.

Haha, those are great! The 4 turtles in costume are actually posing with the "Sprint Cup" Season-Championship trophy, but the race-trophy is hilarious. I expect that will probably be the closest that Danica gets to it though. :tlol:

The Nick costumes are so amazing to see in person. Way better than most of the public appearance costumes used to promote the Fred Wolf and 4Kids shows!

Damn, I found the channel that it's airing on the UK but sadly it's a channel you have to pay extra for, so I can't watch it :cry:

NBC Sports (formerly "Versus," formerly "The Outdoor Life Network") is still a fairly obscure channel for U.S. cable. NBC moves most of their big NASCAR Cup Series races there in order to entice cable subscribers and companies to start paying premiums to include it in packages that usually include ESPN and FoxSports1. They do the same thing to the National Hockey League playoffs.

Brian Tee who played Shredder in Out Of The Shadows is the Pace Car Driver, and its the Shredder car. :)
