so what's everyones favorite new console? id have to admit mines ps2, yeah im a sony boy
I have a GameCube, but I have to wait for Christmas to play it. I'm a long-time nintendo fanboy.
I have PS2 and Gamecube. Personally I like Gamecube better cause I'm a Nintendo fanboy but I really enjoy PS2 as well.
most of the reason i like the ps2 is cuz its backwards compatible and and can play dvds
My fav console? the Sega megadrive. Sure it doesn't have the speed of a p3 733 or a 6.4Gb bandwidth or a 300mhz GP like the X-box.
However it brings me back to the good old megadrive/snes days where grpahics and great sound didn't matter. If the game was good you played it. |
PS2 is definately the best out there.
no way Shred. The Xbox will dominate anything, if its got Microsoft and Nvidia behind it then end of story. Thats the biggest sofware company in history and the richest and the best graphics company which is way ahead of the pack.
PS2: CPU = 300Mhz Toshiba Graphics processor = 150mhz EE Memory = 36M Mem bandwidth = 3.2G/sec Polygon performance = 80 million ( i can't rember the exact correct me if im wrong) X-box: CPU = 733(guess you could say its a celeron type, with only 128KB of L2 cache) Graphics processor = 300Mhz X-chip (microsoft/nvidia) Memory = 64M Mem bandwidth = 6.4G/sec Polygon performance = 300 million/sec how you can work out the PS2 is better i really don't know, the nintendo gamecube is even better than the PS2. But you have to remember that the PS2 was out a long time before everything else was, so thats why other things are better. In auzzie the X-box isn't even out. |
i just wanna post again as i have read what i have written and it looks like im trying to put crap on Shredder. And thats not what i want to do. So Shredder as i wrote that i wasn't directing it all at you but just other people that may be interested.
no hard feelings man? |
No problem, it's good that people have different opinions about stuff. In my opinion, well, maybe XBox (and even Gamecube) are more powerful machines, but it's PS2 which has all the great games (at least so far) and the best controller (good for fighting, sports, RPGs, just about anything out there.) To me, it's the gameplay that counts more than anything (including graphics, not that the PS2's graphics are shabby in any way-just play a game like Twisted Metal Black.) Until XBox or GC show me something I really want to buy, I'm sticking with my PS2.

Favorite console is GameCube because of the games and I can depend on Nintendo to get the greatest games. But PEOPLE, get a PC! These consoles are becoming small computers, so just get a computer before everyone has one. All the games are leading to PC.
i agree wit speed
That's the way it's going to be.
SPEEd is right
he has an excellent point!
My fav console anyways is the cube, I was raised and I still play nintendo. Sony doesnt have the legend of zelda.
AMEN!
Anyone hear or see Sonic going to work at nintendo?
I SEEN THAT IT LOOKS SWEET!
maybe on the next smash brothers game, i can have link slice sonic right in two with the master sword
well raph there u are wishin a little to much!
just wait, it'll happen sometime soon.
It's quite possible, especially since Sega doesn't have a console any more. Did any of you see the comercials for Sonic Adventure on the Gamecube? Now there's a first. Sonic and Mario on the same system. And to think, several years ago Nintendo and Sega were sworn rivals.
I was never a Sega fan, my friends had one but I sticked with nintendo.
I never really liked Sega either. I stuck with Nintendo during my early years (NES, SNES, Gameboy), but when Sony came into the scene, I bought a Playstation instead of the N64. And I've continued to follow Sony, picking up a PS2 recently. I also purchased a Dreamcast (on sale for $50) and I have to say, Sega's last system was its best. Too bad it died so quickly. There was so much potential for it to be an awesome system, but Sony already had a large following. Ah well. The next system I hope on getting is a Gameboy Advance. Lots of SNES remakes for that handheld goodie.
the PS2 killed the dreamcast easily.
I personally like Sega, one cause i liked the turtle came for it and 2 cause of the game raiden and golden axe and soldiers of fortune, and general chao's, and i have never ever played a dreamcast, i have my 64 to cover me, with ogre battle 64, and harvest moon 64 !!!!
I have both Zeldas to keep me covered on my n64
like i said before i dont like number 2 and my friend has my number one and like i have the one's for nes and snes too
I admit, Majora's Mask sucked, the SNES one was the best
yea and it was hard too!
it was at first for me, now i can beat it in about 7-8 hours without dying once.
I beat Golden Axe like 2 months ago with Lucas. I was happy beating it.
Mikey, have you ever played Golden Axe 3?
no never knew they had a golden axe 3! BLADES OF VENGENCE IS AWESOME TOO I HAVE THAT ONE!
Golden Axe 3 is great to play! My favorite Sega videogame was TMNT Tournament Fighters. I had it, now it's at my BIGAMEGs dads house. That sucks. Ever play it anyone of you guy in this forum?
dude i own it!
Golden Axe 3? Is that like Warcraft??? I'm not a very big PC gamer.
